Upon the directives of president abdel Fattah El Sisi to intensify contacts with regional and international parties to de-escalate tensions, achieve calm in the region, and support security and stability in the Middle East, Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, the foreign minister, held a series of calls with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The contacts addressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to consolidate the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, and to resume the diplomatic process and negotiations to reach a sustainable settlement regarding the Iranian nuclear program, in a manner that contributes to addressing concerns through peaceful means and achieving the desired calm and reducing tensions in the region.
The officials commended Egypt's efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, and its role in bringing viewpoints closer together and reaching understandings and common ground that serve the interests of all parties and achieve the necessary calm at this critical time, in support of security and stability in the region.
On the other hand, Minister Abdel Atty's call with Steve Witkoff addressed developments in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, the release of hostages and prisoners, full access to humanitarian aid to the Strip, and preparations for indirect meetings between the two parties to reach an agreement.

OIC: Israeli Occupation Burn Agricultural Land in 11 West Bank villages

Mohamed Mandour The Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Media Observatory on Israeli Crimes against Palestinians recorded 998 Palestinian murdered between July 1 and 7, 2025, including (992) murdered in the Gaza Strip alone. During this period, 762 Palestinians were murdered, and civil defense personnel recovered 7 additional Palestinians from under the rubble. Data on 223 Palestinians who fell earlier in the aggression were also documented, adding this number to the total number of murdered since October 7, 2023, which has reached 59,033. The number of injured over the past seven days has reached 2,991, and 145,226 over the period from October 7, 2023, to July 7, 2025. According to the OIC Observatory, the occupation forces continued to kill numerous Palestinians among those waiting for aids over the past week. They also bombed a water desalination plant in the al-Rimal neighborhood as part of their deliberate attacks targeting the basic needs of Gaza residents. They also targeted the Abu Asi School, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), in the Shati refugee camp, and a school in the al-Zeitoun neighborhood. Meanwhile, the United Nations office in Gaza announced that five school buildings housing displaced persons in the northern Gaza Strip were subjected to Israeli bombing on July 1 and 2, which also killed the director of the Indonesian Hospital and his family. During that period, fuel ran out at al-Shifa Medical Complex, threatening the lives of 350 kidney failure patients. Nasser Hospital also announced a fuel shortage, threatening the lives of infants due to the incubators' failure. These developments came as Gaza residents live on only 25% of the remaining inhabited land due to the 'Gideon Vehicles' plan, which aims to seize Palestinian land. In the West Bank and occupied Al-Quds, the occupation army carried out 299 raids on Palestinian areas between July 1 and 7, 2025. These raids included numerous crimes, the most notorious of which was the arrest of 198 Palestinians, including six children, in Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Nablus. The raids also included the storming of a kindergarten in Al-Khalil and the government hospital in Tulkarm. The demolition of 100 buildings in Jenin camp brought the total number of buildings demolished in the past seven days to 132, including 48 in Nur Shams camp in Tulkarm and 58 in Tulkarm camp. The demolition also included a lathe in Nablus, four agricultural facilities, numerous sheep pens, greenhouses, and mobile homes in Nablus, Tulkarm, and Al-Quds, and retaining walls and a well in Ramallah. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

King Charles to emphasize bonds between UK and France as he welcomes Macron in first European state visit since Brexit

London CNN — King Charles III will highlight the crucial bonds between the United Kingdom and France in the face of a 'multitude of complex threats' as he welcomes President Emmanuel Macron for the first state visit by a European leader since Brexit. The French leader's three-day visit to the UK kicks off on Tuesday and sees Charles and Queen Camilla host Macron and his wife Brigitte at Windsor Castle, with a glittering banquet at the royal residence in the evening. In his toast on Tuesday evening, the King is expected to praise the strength of Anglo-French relationship as 'our two countries face a multitude of complex threats, emanating from multiple directions,' according to Britain's PA Media news agency. 'As friends and as allies, we face them together,' he will say. Charles will also reflect on the 'shared history and culture between our two peoples' and express his 'awe of France's extraordinary attributes and achievements.' The Macrons were greeted off the plane by the Prince and Princess of Wales on their arrival at RAF Northolt, west of London, and traveled together to Windsor where they were treated to a full ceremonial welcome by the King and his wife. After descending the plane's steps, the president greeted Prince William warmly before he lent forward and kissed Kate's hand. Rolling out the red carpet for the first visit by a French president to the UK since 2008, the pomp and pageantry that Britain is known for will be on full display. The King is pulling out all the stops for Macron's visit, with a carriage procession through the streets of Windsor to the historic castle. King Charles welcomed the Macrons on the dias in Windsor, chatting with the president and kissing the first lady's hand. Charles then led the royal party to the waiting open-top carriages – with the monarch and Macron riding in the 1902 State Landau. On their arrival at the castle's quadrangle, the French president was met by an honor guard formed of the Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards and F Company Scots Guards with the state colors of the regiments. Meanwhile, the regimental band played the French and British national anthems, before the dignitaries made their way inside the historic residence for a lunch in the State Dining Room joined by other members of the royal family. The King greets Macron on the first day of his state visit to the UK. The French president and his wife will stay at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, where a banquet will be held in their described the state visit as an 'important moment for our two nations' in a post on social media ahead of his arrival in Britain. 'The United Kingdom is a strategic partner, an ally, a friend. Our bond is longstanding, forged by History and strengthened by trust,' he said on X. 'Together, we will address the major challenges of our time: security, defence, nuclear energy, space, innovation, artificial intelligence, migration, and culture. These are all areas in which we seek to act together and deepen our cooperation in a concrete, effective, and lasting way.' Macron's visit comes just under two years after Charles and Camilla visited France in September 2023 and seeks to 'demonstrate the depth of the ties between our two countries and peoples,' according to the Elysee Palace. On Tuesday, Macron has a busy afternoon with a packed itinerary that will see him take a trip into London to lay a wreath at Westminster Abbey's Grave of the Unknown Warrior before addressing both Houses of Parliament in the Palace of Westminster's Royal Gallery. In the days ahead, the French leader will hold several meetings with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as the pair seek to heal wounds after years of Brexit-fueled animosity. Their talks are expected to focus on support for defense and security cooperation as well as tackling illegal migration across the Channel. On Thursday, the pair will join a UK-France Summit at Downing Street. Support for Ukraine will also be a priority for the two leaders as they seek to build momentum around their 'Coalition of the Willing' – the European peacekeeping force created in March. They are also expected to visit a military base in northwest London where they will dial into a meeting of the informal group of nations working to bolster support for Ukraine. Both leaders have faced political challenges at home amid an increasing fractured landscape, and have suffered from decreasing popularity in recent polls. It's likely they'll be hoping the visit offers a much-needed, if fleeting, boost. Major deals on Ukraine and curbing migrant boat crossings seem unlikely but even more humble announcements would illustrate a further resetting of the relationship between the two nations.

Synagogue door set alight and restaurant stormed in latest antisemitic attacks in Australia

Sydney CNN — A man set the door of a synagogue alight and a group of protesters stormed an Israeli restaurant in Melbourne on Friday night, the latest in a wave of antisemitic attacks in Australian cities. About 20 people were inside the synagogue in the downtown area of East Melbourne when a man poured flammable liquid on the front door of the synagogue on Albert Street before setting it on fire, Victoria state police said. The group was having Shabbat dinner, marking the beginning of the Jewish day of rest, when the attack took place at 8 p.m. local time, Alex Ryvchin, the co-CEO of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ), wrote on X. No one was injured and firefighters extinguished the small blaze, police said, adding that the perpetrator, who remains unidentified, fled the scene. Just over 1 kilometer to the west on Hardware Lane – one of the city's most popular areas for restaurants and nightlife – about 20 protesters stormed into an Israeli restaurant, chanting slogans, police said. A 28-year-old was arrested for hindering police, and has been released on a summons. The group was chanting 'Death to the IDF' before arriving at the restaurant, CNN affiliate Nine News reported, citing witnesses. Staff at the restaurant, Miznon – which launched in the Israeli commercial hub Tel Aviv in 2011 before opening a branch in Melbourne – acknowledged the incident when contacted by CNN. Speaking at a press briefing, Acting Commander Zorka Dunstan of Victoria state police said officers were also investigating a third attack early Saturday morning in which three cars were set on fire near a business in the northeastern suburb of Greensborough. Suspects spray-painted the cars and the walls of the buildings, she said, adding that the business has been targeted by pro-Palestine protesters in the past. The security investigation unit, part of the counter-terrorism command, is investigating all the incidents, though police have yet to declare whether they constitute a terrorism incident, Dunstan said. 'We will examine the intent and the ideology of the persons or person involved,' she said. Many among Australia's 117,000-strong Jewish population are anxious after spate of antisemitic attacks in the country's two biggest cities, Sydney and Melbourne, since late last year – including arson attacks on synagogues, and swastikas scrawled on buildings and cars. The latest attacks drew condemnation from officials and community leaders on Saturday. Denouncing the synagogue attack on X Saturday, Premier of Victoria Jacinta Allan said it was 'designed to shatter…peace and traumatize Jewish families.' 'That it happened on Shabbat makes it all the more abhorrent,' she added, noting that children and women were among the people present at the venue. 'Any attack on a place of worship is an act of hate, and any attack on a Jewish place of worship is an act of anti-Semitism,' she said. Melbourne's Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece described the attack as 'shocking,' according to Nine News. 'I cannot condemn this sort of behavior in stronger terms… this is a city of peace and tolerance, and we will not stand for this,' he said. Ryvchin, from the ECAJ, urged the nation to condemn 'these deplorable crimes.' 'Those responsible cannot be reasoned with or appeased. They must be confronted with the full force of the law,' he wrote on X. Israeli President Isaac Herzog joined in condemning the attacks in a post of his own on X, urging Australian officials to 'take all steps necessary to protect their Jewish citizens.' 'This is not the first such attack in Australia in recent months,' Herzog wrote. 'But it must be the last.' Likewise, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office released a statement Saturday calling on Australia 'to take all necessary measures to bring the perpetrators to justice and to prevent such attacks in the future.'
