President El-Sisi Witnesses Swearing-in of New Presidents of Judicial Authorities
Today in Al-Alamain City, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed the swearing-in of Counselor Assem Abdel Latif El-Saeed Abdel Fattah as President of the Court of Cassation; Counselor Osama Youssef Shalaby Youssef as President of the Council of State; Counselor Hussein Madkour Mohamed Abdel Fattah as President of the State Lawsuits Authority, and Counselor Mohamed Ahmed Khalil Hafez Khalil as President of the Administrative Prosecution Authority.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said that President El-Sisi awarded the Order of the Republic of the First Class to former President of the Court of Cassation, Counselor Hosni Hassan Abdel Latif Abu Zeid; former President of the State Council, Counselor Ahmed Abdelhameed Hassan Abboud; former President of the State Lawsuits Authority, Counselor Abdel-Razak Mahmoud Shoaib; and former President of the Administrative Prosecution Authority, Counselor Abdel-Rady Ahmed Sediq Suleiman, in recognition of their efforts and contributions in the service of the nation and upholding justice.
In his meeting with the new Presidents of the Judicial Authorities, President El-Sisi wished them success in their duties, emphasizing the vital importance of continuing to consolidate the rule of law, which places justice and equality at the top of its priorities in the New Republic. The President reaffirmed the independence of the judiciary, lauding the significant role of the esteemed judicial institutions and authorities in protecting the rights, freedoms, and properties of individuals, developing litigation mechanisms, preserving the role of the judiciary, and enhancing the capabilities of members of the judicial authorities and bodies.

Israel steps up attacks on Gaza killing at least 80, health officials say
Israel intensified attacks on Gaza on Monday that killed more than 80 Palestinians, health officials said, with one air strike hitting a cafe near the strip's seafront. The toll included 13 people killed as they were waiting for aid in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Dozens were also reported injured in the attack, with some in a critical condition. Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke to Donald Trump envoy Steve Witkoff on Monday and 'emphasised the necessity' of a truce, his office in Cairo said. He said this could be a prelude to achieving the US President's 'vision of establishing comprehensive peace'. The latest bombardment followed new displacement orders to vast areas in the north, where Israeli forces had operated before and left behind widespread destruction. The military ordered people there to head south, saying it planned to fight Hamas militants operating in northern Gaza, including in the heart of Gaza city. The war began when Hamas fighters stormed into Israel on October 7, 2023. Israel's subsequent military assault has killed more than 56,500 Palestinians, most of them civilians, says Gaza's Health Ministry, displaced almost the entire 2.3 million population and plunged the enclave into a humanitarian crisis. More than 80 per cent of the territory is now an Israeli-controlled zone or under displacement orders, the UN says. Israel has vowed to destroy the militant group but after more than a year and a half of devastating war, Hamas is still hanging on in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country's "victory" over Iran in their 12-day war had created "opportunities", including for freeing hostages still held in Gaza. In an address to officers of Israel's security services, Mr Netanyahu added: "Of course, we will also have to solve the Gaza issue, to defeat Hamas, but I estimate that we will achieve both goals."

Egypt: El-Sisi orders airport development push, eyes PPPs for Hurghada airport by end-2025
Arab Finance: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed proceeding with the development of airports, in addition to offering Hurghada Airport for public-private partnerships (PPPs) by the end of 2025, Spokesman for the Presidency Mohamed El-Shennawy announced. During his meeting with Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny and Chairperson of EgyptAir In-Flight Services Soheir Abdullah, El-Sisi reviewed plans to enhance the civil aviation sector in line with the state's objectives to raise the number of tourists to 30 million. He followed up on the latest developments of air navigation, aircraft fleet, airport upgrades, and enhancement of human resource capabilities. For his part, El-Hefny outlined the national strategy to involve the private sector in airport operations, based on an agreement signed with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in March 2025. Scheduled to be completed by the end of summer 2025, the strategy aims to integrate the private sector in the operation and development of Egyptian airports. This will improve civil aviation performance, boost operational efficiency, enhance service quality for travelers, and attract private investment and high operational expertise to develop 11 major airports, while ensuring these vital assets remain publicly owned.
