IndyCar XPEL Grand Prix comes to Road America June 19-22, featuring Alex Palou & more stars
The race is the ninth round of the 2025 NTT IndyCar Series. The field is led by Alex Palou, who enters Road America at the top of the championship standings after multiple victories, including a dominant performance at the 2025 Indianapolis 500.

Joining Palou on the grid for the 4-mile, 14-turn circuit known for its elevation changes and challenging layout will be Pato O'Ward, Will Power, Josef Newgarden and other IndyCar stars.
Last year's IndyCar race featured a record number of on-track passes for position.

In addition to IndyCar's main event at 12:30 p.m. June 22, airing live on FOX, the weekend lineup also includes action from INDY NXT by Firestone, USF Pro 2000, USF2000 and the Radical Cup North America — showcasing the next generation of racing stars.

The Vintage Indy exhibition will also return, featuring historic IndyCar machines both on display and in parade laps throughout the weekend.
Also for 2025, fans can join a cross-promotional offer with the Road America Challenge at Plymouth Dirt Track held June 21. Off-track amenities at Road America include public karting at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex, a disc golf course, a Family Fun Zone, and a variety of food and beverage options. Children 16 and younger receive free admission with a paying adult, and racing takes place rain or shine.

Charissa Thompson prepping for Fox ‘shakeup' after two NFL show exits
Fox Sports host Charissa Thompson said she's looking forward to a 'new beginning' after Peter Schrager and Michael Vick's exits from the network left two vacant seats on the Fox 'NFL Kickoff' show. Ed Carpenter Racing building new race shop in Westfield's Grand Park as IndyCar trend continues
In what's become an ever-growing trend in the IndyCar world, Ed Carpenter Racing announced Tuesday its plans to build a larger headquarters, shifting its operations from the northwest side of Indianapolis to Grand Park in Westfield as part of the Grand Park District Master Plan that will situate the new ECR headquarters as part of the existing Grand Park Sports Campus. ECR will become the only IndyCar team located in Hamilton County. The new team shop will be located just south of the Grand Park Event Center on the west side of Grand Park Boulevard. The 76,000 square-foot facility will house ECR's racing operations and advanced engineering and technical development spaces and will also come with both a retail and fan engagement component, offering a public viewing space into the team's operations. The shop will also offer an on-site Java House cafe, incorporating the team's sister company even deeper into the ECR family, as well as the first city-funded parking garage in Grand Park. Just last fall, ECR announced the addition of co-owner Ted Gelov to the team's ownership group that already included its namesake Ed Carpenter, Tony George and Stuart Reed. Gelov is the owner of Heartland Food Products Group, which is also based in Hamilton County and boasts both the Splenda and Java House Coffee brands, among others. Since coming on, the addition of Gelov has brought not only an influx of funding to aid in building a deeper team, tackle research and development projects and hire series veteran Alexander Rossi, but the team has undergone a rebrand, with its cars sporting some of the few consumer-facing sponsors on the grid each weekend. 'Establishing ECR's permanent home at Grand Park is a defining moment for our organization,' Gelov said. 'This new headquarters will not only serve as the foundation for our racing operations and technical development, but also as a place where fans can truly connect with our team, our partners and the sport of IndyCar. As a long-time Hamilton County resident and business owner, I'm proud to invest in this community and help bring a new level of energy, innovation and opportunity to Westfield.' Added Carpenter: 'We are very excited about this project and how it will impact the growth of ECR into the future. The opportunity to build a world-class facility within Grand Park was something we could not pass up. The demographic of Grand Park and its annual visitors is not only a great opportunity for our team to reach new fans, but also a great opportunity for IndyCar itself as we continue to capitalize on the current momentum of our sport." ECR expects to break ground on the new project in early 2026, with its completion pegged for early 2027. The IndyCar paddock's "new shop rat race" kicked off in late 2020 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing announcing its ambitions to shift from its longtime headquarters in Brownsburg into a new facility in Zionsville. The team broke ground in May 2021, and RLL moved in following the 2022 season. In the several years since, Andretti Global has three times shifted gears on plans for a new shop, first breaking ground on the corner of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport in Fishers before those build plans were entirely redone over the ensuing 15 months. The team announced in March 2024 its refined vision on the space, but that new sprawling state-of-the-art headquarters will now be used by the Cadillac F1 team once its completed in early 2026. Within the last couple weeks, Andretti Global's IndyCar and Indy NXT teams have moved into the IndyStar's old Pulliam Production Center as it continues work on an extensive internal and external facelift of the shop space. Just over two years ago, Arrow McLaren purchased Andretti Global's longtime old shop, which it will gut, re-do and move into in the offseason ahead of the 2026 IndyCar season now that its old owners have vacated the building. In early 2022, Meyer Shank Racing shifted into a new race shop in its home of Pataskala, Ohio, just outside Columbus. And in this past offseason, IndyCar's newest team Prema Racing moved into a new shop in Fishers as it began racing in the U.S. full-time for the first time in the team's decades-long history. Also this past offseason, A.J. Foyt Racing merged its Texas-based and Speedway-based teams into one in the team's shop just a stone's throw away from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Power Rankings: Alex Palou Solidifies Top Spot
INDYCAR Pato O'Ward and Alex Palou split victories in the Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend at Iowa Speedway, an event offering 550 laps of racing across two grueling races in as many days. Chevrolet swept the podium in Saturday's Synk 275 powered by Sukup, while Honda responded with a podium sweep of its own in Sunday's Farm to Finish 275 powered by Sukup. As the series heads north for Sunday's Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto (noon Et, FOX, FOX Sports app, INDYCAR Radio Network), three drivers re-enter the Power Rankings. 10. David Malukas (No. 4 Clarience Technologies Chevrolet; Last Rank: NR) Malukas returned strong after missing the rankings post-Mid-Ohio. He finished 12th in Race 1 but climbed to fourth in Race 2, notching his third top-seven finish in the past seven events, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. This marks his fifth time in the Power Rankings top 10 over the last six race weekends. 9. Christian Rasmussen (No. 21 ECR Splenda Chevrolet; Last Rank: NR) The second-year driver impressed with top-10 finishes in both Iowa races – he was sixth in Race 1 and eighth in Race 2 -- making him one of just six drivers to do so. This is his second appearance in the rankings, having last been ranked 10th after World Wide Technology Raceway. All four of his top-10 finishes this season have come on ovals. 8. Josef Newgarden (No. 2 Astemo Team Penske Chevrolet; Last Rank: NR) Newgarden led a combined 304 laps at Iowa, including 232 in Race 1 where he finished second. However, ill-timed cautions in Race 2 shuffled him back to 10th. Despite Iowa's promise, recent results -- 22nd, 9th, 25th, 25th, and 27th -- keep his ranking modest. Still, this is his first Power Rankings appearance since he was fourth after the season opener at St. Petersburg. 7. Christian Lundgaard (No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet; Last Rank: 7) Lundgaard rebounded from a 21st-place finish in Race 1 to finish sixth in Race 2, marking his second top-six result in the last three races. He also stood on the podium at Mid-Ohio with a third-place finish, his fourth podium of the year. 6. Felix Rosenqvist (No. 60 SiriusXM Honda; Last Rank: 5) Rosenqvist continues a steady stretch with three top-seven results in the last four events. Highlights include a second-place finish at Road America and sixth at Mid-Ohio, keeping him solidly in the conversation near the top half of the rankings. ↓5. Kyle Kirkwood (No. 27 SukUp Honda; Last Rank: 3) Kirkwood slips for the second straight weekend after a rough Iowa outing. A practice crash Saturday morning foreshadowed a 26th-place result in Race 1 and a tough 18th-place finish in Race 2. Still, his five top-eight finishes in the last eight races -- including three wins -- keep him in the top five. 4. Marcus Armstrong (No. 66 SiriusXM/Root Insurance Honda; Last Rank: 6) Armstrong matched his career-best finish with a third-place result in Race 2 at Iowa, his second podium of the career (Detroit 2024). He's surged from 16th to seventh in the points standings over the last six races, earning top-10s in all of them. This is his highest Power Rankings position to date. 3. Scott Dixon (No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda; Last Rank: 2) Dixon followed up his Mid-Ohio victory with a runner-up finish to teammate Palou in Sunday's Iowa race, giving Chip Ganassi Racing its second 1-2 finish in three events. With five consecutive top-10 finishes, Dixon remains firmly among the championship contenders. ↑2. Pato O'Ward (No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet; Last Rank: 4) O'Ward finally broke through for his first win of the season in Iowa Race 1 and followed it with a solid fifth-place finish in Race 2. He now has eight top-seven finishes in the last nine races, including four top-two results. Notably, he also ranked second in the Power Rankings after Iowa last season. ↔1. Alex Palou (No. 10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda; Last Rank: 1) Palou earned his seventh win of the season, which marks the first time since Al Unser Jr. in 1994 that a driver has won seven of the opening 12 races to a season. Unser won the championship by 47 points over Team Penske teammate Emerson Fittipaldi that season.
