Ruben Dias and Maya Jama take their romance to next level with big admission
Smitten Ruben Dias has dropped a huge hint that it's love already between him and Maya Jama.
The Love Island host, 30, made things official with the Manchester City star, 28, during a sun-soaked trip to the Amalfi Coast just days before her return to ITV2 for the new series of the dating show on June 9. Things seem to be moving a quite a pace if the centre-back's remarks are anything to go by.
The footballer took to social media to show off his summer so far. With snaps of holidays, animals, photo shoots and of course his girlfriend, the telling description told fans all they need to know. 'Sun, love, crocodiles, some fits and one advice,' he captioned the fun-filled collection.
Maya was quick to notice, a responded with a series of love heart and fire emoji. Her fans noted the response, and one told the television presenter: "you two! Love to see my girl so happy!" It's a sure sign that things are ramping up between the couple after a number of lavish trips together.
Maya and Ruben are believed to have first met at the European Music Awards (EMAs) in Manchester in November 2024. After the event, they followed each other on Instagram. By the end of the year, the pair were reportedly spotted ringing in New Year 's Eve together.
Things only escalated from there, as Maya was seen attending one of Ruben's football matches in Portugal in March 2025. A month later, the pair were photographed kissing and cuddling at KSI's Baller League football event at London's Copper Box Arena - and it was only just getting started.
According to reports, the relationship has become more serious in recent weeks. Maya is said to have introduced Ruben to her mum, Bernadette, and has been making an effort to learn her partner's native language by taking Portuguese lessons. Dias joined Manchester City in 2020 for a reported £57 million, and is one of the most respected defenders in the world.
Before dating Maya he was in a relationship with Portuguese singer April Ivy, and has also previously been linked to former Love Island contestant Arabella Chi. Maya's love life has been in the spotlight ever since she dated Stormzy. The couple split up in 2019, which the rapper later called his "biggest regret", and they reunited in 2023 to give things another try. However, they broke up again for good last summer, citing differences in what they wanted from their lives and for the future.
In an interview with the Evening Standard last November, which is around the time she met Ruben, Maya opened up about what she is currently looking for from a relationship. She shared: "'I am so happy right now but the next person I meet I want to marry and have kids with, so obviously I'm feeling fussy.
"I've created such a nice life for myself alone and I don't want anyone who's not going to add to that. I'm in this lovely bubble and I don't want you unless you make me happy. If you're not, I kind of don't need you." Maya had quite the weekend, jetting to America after seeing Iga Swiatek make history with her 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Amanda Anisimova in 57 minutes at Wimbledon.
Ruben has a few more weeks before he is due to return to pre-season, with City having a very different summer having participated in the FIFA Club World Cup. They can unwind with the squad not reporting for duty until the end of July as they gear up for the Premier League season.

By Martina Andretta In a city overrun by muted palettes and industrial-chic interiors, stumbling into The Laughing Yak feels like being let in on a brilliant secret. This tiny Nepalese restaurant isn't just colourful – it's a full-on sensory jolt. A maximalist dreamscape of shiny crockery, cloud-like pendants, dog-shaped chopstick holders and Nepalese string puppets that swing cheerfully. It's weird, whimsical and totally wonderful – and somehow, it's been flying under the radar during its first year in Dalston. The food is every bit as lively as the decor. I came for the momos, which were juicy and comforting, but not even close to stealing the show. The channa chatpate – a crunchy salad of puffed rice and potato, dressed with yoghurt and tamarind – is tangy and addictive. The thali plates (with meat, fish or veggie options) cover all the bases, giving you a chance to taste a selection of dishes. But a public service announcement: do not skip dessert. The gulab jamun – soft, spongy doughnuts with pistachio candy floss, cardamom toffee sauce and clotted cream ice cream are dangerously good. One of my favourite finds of the year. In Marylebone at Michelin-starred restaurant Trishna, I tasted the tenderest coconut salmon encased in a green curry leaf, which was so exceptional I had, well, a moment. I was sampling the summer menu Taste of the Western Ghats, the mountainous range in southern India full of biodiversity where Trishna's cuisine hails from. I kicked off with a Chilli Konkan Cooler from a cocktail collaboration with sustainable Diaspora Spice. For obvious reasons, beef is seldom served in Indian restaurants, yet beef short rib coconut fry features as a nod to the Syrian Christian community in Kerala – a rich delightful surprise. A well thought-out selection of 1970s tracks and meticulously curated knick-knacks provide the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a cocktail with a few appetizers – I recommend the crispy dates with stilton & bacon (trust me, it works). The drinks are as creative as the décor. Each is based on an album from Virgin Records in the 1970s, ranging from Peter Gabriel to Phaedra. The mango and chili agave give a smoky spice that's just right, but if you're looking for a standout drink, the star is 'The Decanter'. Chestnut bakery is oh so chic, with their brand new soft serve combo. If you've never had feuilletine before, it's made up of caramelised crêpes, giving whatever you serve it with the perfect crunch, and that extra je ne sais quoi. Appearing on the latest episode of former Love Island star Olivia Attwood's ITV documentary series Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection, the woman revealed why she chose to change her looks so drastically. But it was when Olivia met Alicia towards the end of the latest episode that people were left stunned. Alicia's £250,000 left her looking completely unrecognisable, with large lips, breasts and long platinum blonde hair to complete the look. The surgery fan even donned a pink outfit and accessories in a bid to look more like Barbie. At one point in the episode, Olivia was taken aback by a scrapbook full of old pictures of Alicia. Inside were pictures of Alicia taken when she was around 18-years-old, in 2016, but the girl looked nothing like the Alicia standing next to Olivia. Despite having the same blonde hair, the surgery fan looked much more natural, sporting a casual outfit and nothing too attention grabbing. Olivia gasped at the before pictures: "Oh. My. God." Then, speaking about if she knew her look would change so drastically, Alicia confessed: "To people who really knew me back then, knew what I was like, it wouldn't be a big shock because I've always sort of been quite outgoing and confident and sexual and stuff like that." In complete shock, Olivia continued to flip through the pictures, pinpointing different stages of Alicia's cosmetic journey, from breast implants, to a rhinoplasty. The surgery lover also revealed that she'd never want to go back to her old self, even as she gets older.
