If you're trying to find something to watch, but you're sick of just picking through the most obvious titles in Netflix's algorithm, it can sometimes feel a little hopeless. Underrated gems don't necessarily get surfaced by the algorithm, and even if they do, you might not be familiar with them enough to click.
That's where we come in. We've pulled together this list of three underrated titles that are all available on Netflix. Check them out and give them a shot.

Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)
An important reminder that animation is not just for kids and that Disney is not the only company capable of producing it, Kubo and the Two Strings follows a young boy with a magical instrument who teams up with two other creatures to battle mystical creatures and solve the mystery of his own family.
Featuring stunning stop-motion animation and the kind of attention to detail that only Laika Studios is capable of, Kubo is a visual marvel. Just as crucially, the story at the movie's center is one of a young boy trying to understand his origins and what that means for who he should become.
You can watch Kubo and the Two Strings on Netflix.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
A brilliant revisionist Western that imagines a version of the Old West populated by Black outlaws, The Harder They Fall follows an outlaw who discovers that his sworn enemy is being released from prison and decides to get his gang back together to seek revenge.
Featuring a cast that includes Regina King, Lakeith Stanfield, Idris Elba, and more incredible Black performers, The Harder They Fall isn't just an excuse to see all of them bounce off of one another. It's also one of the most stylish Westerns you're likely to encounter and one of the century's best.
You can watch The Harder They Fall on Netflix.
The Piano Lesson (2024)
Adapted from an August Wilson play of the same name, The Piano Lesson follows a family as they gather in Pittsburgh to debate their family history and a beautiful piano that is tied up in it. Featuring brilliant performances from John David Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, and Danielle Deadwyler, The Piano Lesson is set largely in a single room. However, you're never bothered by that relatively tight setting.
Instead, director Malcolm Washington knows exactly how to expand the canvas of his story so that The Piano Lesson feels epic not because of its budget or its elaborate sets, but because of the roiling drama at its center.
You can watch The Piano Lesson on Netflix.

‘Coyote vs. Acme' Finally Reveals a Release Date at Comic-Con

If the long, twist-filled 'Coyote vs. Acme' fight for a release was 'It's a Wonderful Life,' then Ketchup Entertainment would be all the townspeople at the end (79-year-old spoiler) chipping in to make sure George Bailey doesn't go under. That's as far as the analogy goes, though film fans can easily guess who is Mr. Potter in this scenario. Regardless, the townspeople have won the day, and 'Coyote vs. Acme' is indeed on its way — finally — with a theatrical release set for August 28, 2026. To sum things up as quickly as possible: the $70 million live-action/animated movie was one of a few (paging 'Batgirl') that were shelved in 2023 as tax write-offs for Warner Bros. (to the tune of $30 million), even though the movie had tested well. After a fan outcry, the film was put up for sale to other studios… but then it quickly was dead in the water again, when nobody met the price WB wanted. A cast and crew funeral screening was even held for the movie. It was dead. George Bailey was going to jump off the bridge. More from IndieWire How 'Oh, Hi!' Makes Doomscrolling Funny What If 'The Virgin Suicides' Felt More Like a Cursed Object? Try the Feverish 'Honeycomb' for Summer Enter Clarence- eh… 'The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Toons Movie,' which Ketchup distributed, though it was only set for a streaming HBO Max (or Max at the time) release. They then made a deal earlier this year for 'Coyote vs. Acme,' which the film's star Will Forte expressed relief over earlier this year, telling THR, 'I never thought it would happen so it just came out of nowhere and I'm so thrilled,' he said. 'Thank you Ketchup Entertainment, I'm so excited for people to see this movie. I'm gonna promote the crap out of it, just tell me what you want me to do and I'll go, I'll do whatever — go to the top of Mount Everest, I'm there.' So the film's San Diego Comic-Con panel, to say the least, was hotly anticipated. And Ketchup did not disappoint. 'This movie wasn't suppose to come out,' panel moderator Paul Scheer said (via Deadline). 'I heard Warner Bros wouldn't release the film — I've never heard of Warner Bros! This is really an Acme decision and I'm saying that for legal purposes.' The even had 'an Acme lawyer' appear, attempting to halt the film's release. 'These are cease and desist papers from the Acme Corporation. You do not have permission to share information and footage from this anti-Acme film. Please leave the stage,' the performer said, then addressed a cosplaying audience member, 'As a copyrighted costume, sir, please disrobe.' May the other shelved Warner Bros. properties — which also includes another animated film 'Scoob! Holiday Haunt' — one day find such a rebirth. Until then, they await discovery at the Island of Misfit Toys. But that is another analogy for another day. Until then, check out 'Coyote vs. Acme' in theaters August 28, 2026. 11 best modest swimsuits under $100 for summer 2025 — shop my recommendations from Amazon, Adidas, Lululemon & more

These full-coverage options are lightweight, breathable and stylish. For far too long, I felt excluded when it comes to swimwear. I dress modestly, which for me means full-coverage clothing that covers everything but the face, hands and feet — even when in the water. Growing up, I felt like swimming was never really an option due to the lack of modest swimwear in the market. Luckily, modest swimsuits began to pop up more frequently, and now there are tons of options across styles and coverage preferences — including long swim tops, leggings, swim caps, swim hijabs and more. My personal go-to? A pair of swim leggings, a tunic-style rash guard and a swim hijab. I also love to have a swim skirt and cover-up on hand for extra coverage. If you're looking for a modest swimsuit, I've rounded up some of the best ones I've come across below. They're all under $100, and perfect for summer 2025. IDOPIP Three-Piece Muslim Swimsuit $47 at Amazon A three-piece-swimsuit that is the epitome of modest swimwear — full-length leggings, a full-length rash guard top and a hijab swimming cap. This set not only provides full coverage, but also UV protection. The fabric is lightweight, quick-drying and breathable, making it a comfortable and cute option for both in and out of the water. ⭐ Rating: 3.9/5 stars 🏅 Promising review: "It looks good and after getting wet it, won't attach to the body which is great." Etsy Modest Activewear/Swimwear Hoodie $77 at Etsy This swimwear hoodie is waterproof, high-neck and equipped with a hood that fully covers the head. When paired with swim leggings it makes for a great looser-fitting option. ⭐ Rating: 4.1/5 stars 🏅 Promising review: "‏I absolutely adore this hoodie! It's incredibly comfortable and the fit is just right, making it ideal for hijabi women." Adidas 3-Stripes Swim Leggings $44 $110 at Adidas These leggings are soft, comfortable, stretchy and high-rise — and perfect for pairing with a swim tunic or rash guard. These are actually a personal favourite of mine because they are available in larger sizes, which can be hard to find in modest swimwear. ⭐ Rating: 4.3/5 stars 🏅 Promising review: "‏These are my favourite swim leggings. They're great quality, super comfy and look great." La Vie en Rose Black Skirt Bikini Bottom $40 at La Vie En Rose Pro-tip: If a rash guard feels too short, a skirt is great to layer over swim leggings for extra coverage. CaptainSwim Women Modest Muslim Swimsuit $59 at Amazon If you're looking for something less form-fitting, this is a great option. The top is loose and breathable while still not being see-through. Both the top and bottom also feature a drawstring, which makes it easy to tighten as needed. ⭐ Rating: 3.7/5 stars 🏅 Promising review: "‏Modest and functional swimsuit. Always get compliments when I use!" Woman Within Chlorine Resistant Long-Sleeve Mock Neck Swim Tee $27 $90 at Woman Within This longer swim tee is great for pairing with leggings. It even has a mock collar for additional neck coverage. ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 stars 🏅 Promising review: "‏I love how light the material is. Feels great on my skin." East Essence Black Overlap Modest Printed Yoke Detailing Swim Suit With Cap $70 $140 at East Essence A full set cap with a looser fit — perfect for summer. The best part? This suit is available in an extensive size range, as well as various length options. Penningtons Textured Dotted Long-Sleeve Rashguard with Built-In Bra $54 $90 at Penningtons This rash guard has a built-in bra, which is always great. The colour and pattern also make for a more vibrant option that's still full-coverage and modest — which can sometimes be hard to find. La Vie en Rose Long Gauze Shirt $46 at La Vie en Rose Even modest swimwear can still be form-fitting, so I always carry a cover-up to throw on when getting out of the water. IDOPIP Muslim Burkini Swimsuits $78 at Amazon This four-piece set has all the components of a modest swimsuit — a skirt, leggings, rash guard and swim cap. This is especially great for someone who may not want to commit to a certain style and wants to change things up as needed. Lululemon Women's Lightweight Performance Hijab $42 at Lululemon Many modest swimsuits do come with a swim cap, but not necessarily a full coverage hijab. If you're looking for additional coverage, this pinless performance hijab is quick-drying, stretchy and can fit under any sports shirt. ⭐ Rating: 4.3 /5 stars 🏅 Promising review: "Best sports hijab for the summer and any outdoor activities."

‘Happy Gilmore 2' ultimate cameo guide — from Haley Joel Osment to Post Malone

"Happy Gilmore 2" landed on Netflix on Friday, July 25, almost 30 years after Adam Sandler's failed hockey player turned unorthodox golf sensation stunned the world by trouncing top pro Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) and winning back his beloved grandma's house. Less than 24 hours after its release, the long-awaited sequel is already breaking the internet. Netflix's latest original is packed with familiar faces and cameos that have everyone talking. Sandler reprises his role as the hot-headed golfer, and he's joined by an even more star-studded cast than the original, including Christopher McDonald as Happy's nemesis Shooter McGavin, Ben Stiller as Hal L, and Julie Bowen as Virginia Gilmore. All the sequel's hype has even landed the original 1996 film in the Netflix top 10 list as viewers eagerly revisit one of the most enduring '90s comedy classics. Just be sure to watch the first "Happy Gilmore" sooner rather than later; you only have until August 1 to fit in a double feature, as it's one of 48 movies leaving Netflix next week. As in the first film, "Happy Gilmore 2" includes several jaw-dropping cameos that you'll have to see to believe. The sequel introduces a ton of new characters, including Sandler's daughter Sunny as Happy's daughter Vienna, Bad Bunny as Sandler's caddy Oscar, and dozens of real-world golfers, musicians, and celebrities that Sandler somehow roped into appearing in the film. With so many celebrity cameos popping up left and right, it's practically impossible not to miss one or two. Just be warned: We're discussing major plot details from "Happy Gilmore 2," so there's plenty of spoilers ahead! From Haley Joel Osment as a surgically-enhanced golf pro to Travis Kelce as a golf fanboy waiting tables, here's who to look out for in "Happy Gilmore 2" this weekend. Bad Bunny as Oscar Mejías Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. With Happy coming out of retirement and back on the green, he needs a new caddy to be his right-hand man. The Puerto Rican hitmaker Bad Bunny plays Oscar, a good-natured busboy who takes on the job. It's the popstar's latest movie cameo after we saw him in 2022's 'Bullet Train' and 2021's "F9: The Fast Saga." Steve Buscemi as the neighbor Long-time Sandler collaborator Steve Buscemi makes an early cameo in "Happy Gilmore 2." After Happy loses his grandma's house for a second time following Virginia's death, he and his daughter are forced to move to a seedier side of town. Buscemi plays their new oddball neighbor. Post Malone as DJ Omar Gosh In the film's climax, the final tournament commentators are joined by a flamboyantly dressed fictional celebrity, DJ Omar Gosh, played by none other than music star Post Malone, who remains unmistakable even through all that bling. Eminem as Donald Jr. Joe Flaherty played Happy's biggest heckler Donald in the original film, and now his son, played by rapper Eminem, is back to take up the mantle. Haley Joel Osment The '90s child star plays rival golfer Billy Jenkins, who sports a powerful swing like Happy. Benny Safdie as Frank Manatee A co-director on "Uncut Gems" alongside Sandler, Benny Safdie plays the main villain in "Happy Gilmore 2": Frank Manatee, the halitosis-stricken mind behind Maxi Golf, a new stunt-based golf association intended to rival the long-established Tour Championship league. His inclusion is a knowing wink to fans of Sandler's other works. Ken Jennings as himself While watching TV early on, Happy is surprised to see his name appear as an answer on an episode of "Jeopardy." And who better to host the show than real-life game-show host Ken Jennings? Cam'ron The rapper makes an appearance as himself. Kid Cudi The rapper plays an FBI agent. Margaret Qualley, Eric André, and Martin Herlihy When he's at a new low, Happy is grouped with three amateur golfers in what they think will be a game-changing golf lesson. They're played by comedian and actor Eric André, "The Substance" star Margaret Qualley, and "Saturday Night Live's" Please Don't Destroy in-house sketch troupe member Martin Herlihy. Guy Fieri The Food Network star plays a character named Maxi Starter. Sean Evans The star of First We Feast's iconic talk show Sean Evans plays himself. Bobby Lee Comedian Bobby Lee also plays himself. Dan Patrick as Pat Daniels The legendary sportscaster appears as the host of Sports Hole with Pat Daniels, who breaks the news of Happy's drunken hijinks at the municipal course. Kym Whitley as Bessie The comedian plays an overenthusiastic friend of Happy's. Marcello Hernandez as Esteban Another "Saturday Night Live" cast member, Hernandez plays a character named Esteban. John Daley as himself A real-life unorthodox golf legend known for his anti-establishment attitude, John Dayly, seems a perfect fit for the world of "Happy Gilmore." We see him spending his retirement squatting in Happy's garage, where he seems to fill a pseudo-uncle type role in Happy's family. Travis Kelce as the waiter Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Taylor Swift's boyfriend shows off his acting chops in a memorable scene that involves a shirtless Kelce, a jar of honey, and a very hungry bear. Kelsey Plum and Andrew Watt When Happy returns to the municipal golf course to test his swing after a decade of boozing and inactivity, he's greeted by the course starters, who are played by WNBA star Kelsey Plum and Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, widely known for his work with legends like the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, and Pearl Jam, earning him the nickname 'the Rock Hall of Fame whisperer.' The Tour Championship golfers Pro golfers Tony Finau, Will Zalatoris (who also played the caddy Happy chokes out in the original), Justin Thomas, Bubba Watson, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy, and Brooks Koepka all play alongside Happy in the U.S. Bank Tour Championship. Scheffler, DeChambeau, McIlroy, and Koepka later join Happy to defeat the Maxi League golfers. Tim Herlihy, Nelly Korda, and Nancy Lopez On the parole board at the Westford State Mental Hospital that deems Shooter unfit for release is Drs. Hertz, Young, and Silver. They're played by "Happy Gilmore" co-writer Herlihy, current #1 ranked golfer on the LPGA Tour Korda, and former LPGA superstar Lopez. Veteran sportscasters The longtime ESPN personalities Stephen Smith, Chris Berman, and Jim Gray appear as themselves. Reggie Bush as 8 Ball The Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL running back appears as the character 8 Ball. Verne Lundquist The legendary sportscaster returns in "Happy Gilmore 2" after appearing as a golf commentator in the original. Sean Avery and Chris Chelios The retired NHL stars play a pair of henchmen. Rebecca Quin and Nikki Bella The WWE wrestlers play characters named Flex and Medusa. Fernando Marrero The pro wrestler plays a character named Screech. Boban Marjanovic The former NBA cult favorite and "John Wick" actor makes a cameo as a zealous Happy Gilmore fan named Drago Larson, the son of the character played by the late Richard Kiel.
