Operation Sindoor
— the precision counter-terror strike launched by
Indian Armed Forces
in direct retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.
'Operation Sindoor called, and we delivered,' Adani told shareholders at the company's annual general meeting.
According to Adani, loitering munitions manufactured by Adani Defence conducted precision strikes while its counter-drone units were deployed to protect Indian assets from retaliatory threats. 'Our drones became the eyes in the skies as well as the swords of attack, and our anti-drone systems helped protect our forces and citizens,' he said, as quoted PTI.
Developed in collaboration with Alpha Design Technologies — in which Adani Defence holds a 26% stake — and Israel's Elbit Systems, the SkyStriker loitering munition or kamikaze drone can carry 5–10 kg warheads, fly silently at low altitudes up to 100 km, and precisely strike targets.
'As I have always believed — we don't operate in safe zones. We operate where it matters — where India needs us the most,' Adani added.
He opened his address by saluting India's soldiers, stating, 'This year, during Operation Sindoor, our brave men and women in uniform stood tall.

Referring to the counterstrike, Adani said, 'India understands the value of peace. But if someone dares to threaten it, India also knows how to respond in their own language.'
At the AGM, Adani said the world had undergone dramatic change over the past year with more than 60 nations going to polls, alliances being tested and economies shaken.
Yet, amid global volatility — wars in the Middle East, economic stumbles in Europe, and challenges in the US — India continued to outpace major economies, he noted, reported PTI.
'This is not a coincidence. It is the result of vision. Of intent. Of policy,' he said. 'The Indian Government, both at the Centre and across the states, has laid down the foundation for a truly historic transformation — not for a few, but for an entire nation whose best chapters are just beginning.'
Adani reaffirmed the group's commitment to its national mission and announced a record capital investment pipeline across key sectors. Despite global headwinds, including US regulatory scrutiny, he asserted that the group continues to uphold global governance standards.
'No one from the Adani Group has been charged with violating the FCPA or conspiring to obstruct justice,' he said, adding, 'Truth often speaks softer than negativity but carries more weight.'
Financially, the Adani Group posted revenue of Rs 2.71 lakh crore and adjusted EBITDA of Rs 89,806 crore, maintaining a healthy net debt-to-EBITDA ratio of 2.6x. Annual capital expenditure is projected to reach $15–20 billion over the next five years.
'And our numbers tell their own story,' Adani said. 'Even in a year of turbulence, we saw record-breaking revenue, unprecedented growth and historic profitability. We are proof of a group that dares to dream beyond constraints and powered by a nation that breathes possibility into every tomorrow ahead of us.'

Chidambaram questions Pahalgam terrorists' identity, BJP hits back
As Parliament debates Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, former Union Minister P Chidambaram's recent remarks on the terrorists involved in the killings have kicked up a row. In an interview to The Quint, uploaded on Saturday (July 26), Chidambaram said the Pahalgam attackers 'for all we know could be homegrown terrorists' and 'why do you assume that they came from Pakistan'? He also said that 'there is no evidence' that the terrorists came from Pakistan. To a question on 'what they (government) are trying to hide', Chidambaram said: 'They are hiding the fact. I think. And this is speculation. The CDS hinted at that – that we made tactical mistakes, we restrategised. So, what tactical mistakes were made? What was the re-strategising? Those questions either they (government) are incompetent to answer or they are unwilling to answer… They are unwilling to disclose what the NIA has done all these weeks.' 'Have they identified the terrorists, where they came from? For all we know they could be homegrown terrorists. Why do you assume that they came from Pakistan? There is no evidence of that. They are also hiding the losses,' the Congress leader said in the interview. He said he wrote in a column that in a war, losses occur on both sides. 'When it comes to national security, there should be no ambiguity. But with the Congress, there never is — they always bend over backwards to protect the enemy,' Malviya said on X. Asked about BJP's reaction, Chidambaram said: 'I saw a troll and I have responded to the troll.' In a post on X on Monday, the Congress leader said: 'Trolls are of different kinds and use different tools to spread misinformation. The worst kind is a troll who suppresses the full recorded interview, takes two sentences, mutes some words, and paints the speaker in a black colour!'

Mohali: Former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has petitioned a local court to livestream his ongoing trial in a disproportionate assets case, calling for open proceedings in the interest of transparency and public accountability. Majithia, currently in judicial custody at Nabha jail, filed the application through his counsel, Damandeep Singh Sobti, on Monday. The petition challenges the in-camera nature of the hearings, which bars public and media access currently. "We seek livestreaming of the trial to expose the political vendetta behind these charges," said advocate Sobti. "This case is linked neither to the NDPS Act nor any illegal assets. The public deserves to see the truth." The request from the ex-minister comes amid mounting criticism over restricted courtroom access. Even journalists and individuals connected to the case have been denied entry reportedly, with police citing the in-camera format. A separate application from a web reporter for permission to attend hearings remains pending. The court has directed the additional director general of police (ADGP), jails, to respond regarding Majithia's classification under the "orange category" of the prison manual. Punjab's vigilance bureau had arrested Majithia on June 30 from his Amritsar house. He was remanded to 12 days in police custody initially before being sent to judicial custody when no further remand was sought. The upcoming hearings are likely to determine the course of his bail application and the court's stance on livestreaming the proceedings — a move that, if approved, could mark a legal first for high-profile political trials in Punjab.
