Fans Choose Ava Max's ‘Lovin Myself' as This Week's Favorite New Music
In a poll published Friday (May 30) on Billboard, music fans chose the pop singer's latest single as their favorite new release of the past week.

'Lovin Myself' brought in 57% of the vote, beating out new releases from artists like Tate McRae ('Just Keep Watching'), Miley Cyrus (Something Beautiful), Lorde ('Man of the Year'), Leon Thomas (MUTT Deluxe: HEEL), Yeule (Evangelic Girl Is a Gun), and others.
'Lovin Myself' doubles down on Max's streak of self-empowerment, with the singer declaring, 'I don't need nobody, I'm lovin' myself!' as warm synths rain down on her voice.
Max revealed in early May that her third album, Don't Click Play, will be arriving on Aug. 22. The forthcoming set features lead single 'Lost Your Faith.'
The album cover sees Max braving the heat within a triangle of fire, her hands gripping its burning edges — perhaps a visual metaphor for the fire-emoji energy she wants listeners to feel when they hit play. The triangle itself resembles the familiar symbol for a play button. In April, she directed fans to DontClickPlayOnAvaMax.com, a site disguised as an online petition that cleverly teased an unreleased track.
Don't Click Play follows 2023's Diamonds & Dancefloors (which reached No. 34 on the Billboard 200) and 2020's debut Heaven & Hell (which peaked at No. 27 and featured her breakthrough single 'Sweet But Psycho,' a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018).
Placing second in the poll was Tate McRae's 'Just Keep Watching', which received nearly 15% of the vote. The fast-moving club track is featured in the F1 film soundtrack.

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong introduced his American Idiot protagonist as 'the son of rage and love' back in 2004. After a moment, he picked his mic back up and asked the audience to put their 'hands up.' Commenters on the clips circulating online claim that the fan in question was repeatedly spraying the singer with a water gun during the performance, which led to the confrontation. 'Billie Joe reacts to person who kept sh00t1ng water on his face with a waterg0n throughout the whole show,' read one comment. Billboard has reached out to Green Day's representatives for comment. Green Day has been hitting the festival circuit hard throughout 2025, with appearances thus far at Coachella, BottleRock and Download Festival in the U.K., the latter of which saw Armstrong take a moment during the band's performance to call out the rise of far-right policies throughout the United States. 'Donald Trump in his administration is a fascist government. And it's up to us to fight back,' he told the crowd. The band was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May, where bassist Mike Dirnt thanked fans for sticking with the band throughout its decades-long run. Billie Joe Armstrong didn't exactly get what he bargained for when he invited a fan on stage at a recent concert. As has become tradition at Green Day concerts, the frontman handed over one of his acoustic guitars Monday (June 30) to a lucky fan plucked from the audience in Luxembourg, giving him the chance to perform alongside the band on 'Good Riddance.' But in clips captured from the show, the fan instead starts playing the wrong chords as Armstrong looks visibly confused. Jim Jones Defends Himself Against Nas Comparison: ‘Pull Up My Billboard Entries'
Jim Jones makes his case after a 22-year-old college student from New Jersey said he was influenced more by the Harlem rapper than by Nas on the Don't Quote Me podcast. While stopping by the Joe and Jada podcast posted Thursday (June 19), Jimmy discussed the viral video. 'I admired Nas,' Jones admitted. 'When it came to dressin', the wordplay, the music, everything. I was a superior Nas fan, period. I'll never take that away from him.' I developed my own style and my own lane that these kids started to gravitate towards to, the same way I gravitated towards Nas when I younger.' Jadakiss pushed back a bit on that claim, though, and said his son is around the same age and is aware of Nas' impact on the genre, but Jim brushed it off, attributing it to him being around Jada. 'He's your son,' he retorted. 'My son can't tell you one Nas record. Let's keep it a buck here. There must be some type of misconception when it comes to Jim Jones and what Jim Jones has done in this game. A lot of these rappers have done a tremendous job. And I take nothing away from them.
