Alex the Great, S.F.'s beloved influencer rabbit, dies after cancer battle
The large Flemish rabbit underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on Thursday, July 17, according to his family, who provided regular updates on his health via social media.
Though Alex made it through the procedure, he wound up in the Intensive Care Unit of UC Davis Veterinary the following day due to a complication that arose during treatment.
Alex's owners, Josh Row and Kei Koc, said he 'crossed the rainbow' on the morning of Monday, July 21.
'This is the hardest news,' they wrote in an X post. 'The pain is unbearable.'
The four-year-old rabbit was rescued by Row and Koc from a meat farm in Modesto when he was a small bunny.
Alex attended his first San Francisco Giants game when he was four months old, and quickly rose to social media fame by serving as the team's' 'rally rabbit,' frequently charming attendees in the stands during games at Oracle Park.
Alex also comforted travelers at SFO as one of its therapy animals.
Last year, he even stopped by Outside Lands at Golden Gate Park, where he was invited to meet pop star Chappell Roan.
According to his owners, Alex's health troubles began in May, when he had to undergo emergency surgery at SoMA Animal Hospital to remove a cancerous tumor. Though he was medically cleared to attend Giants games by the start of June, he returned to the hospital last week to get a second tumor removed.
His family noted that Alex had several cardiac arrests during the procedure and 'just couldn't pull through.'
Before he went into his second surgery, Alex's family held a meet-up at Mission Rock for fans to give him some good luck cuddles. They also put out an open call for donations to help cover his medical bills.
Dozens of devastated fans took to social media on Monday to share their favorite moments with Alex and offer their condolences to his family, who have been reposting several of these messages to his Instagram stories.
'We will continue your legacy and spread joy and build a positive loving community,' his family wrote on Monday afternoon via Instagram. 'No words to describe the pain, no time would heal the big hole in our hearts.'

'Sex and the City' spinoff 'And Just Like That' to end with Season 3 just like that
"And Just Like That" is over, just like that. Michael Patrick King – an executive producer of the "Sex and the City" spinoff, which airs on HBO Max – revealed the show will abruptly end at the end of the current season, in a note posted to the show's social media pages Aug. 1. "And just like that... the ongoing storytelling of the 'Sex And The City' universe is coming to an end," King wrote. "While I was writing the last episode of 'And Just Like That...' season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop." He said that he and franchise star Sarah Jessica Parker "held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season." King said, "It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years." 'And Just Like That' Season 3: Date, time, how to watch new episodes The "SATC" revival premiered on HBO Max in late 2021, featuring three out of the four original stars, minus Kim Cattrall's promiscuous Samantha Jones. However, the fan favorite Manhattanite made an offscreen appearance through a text conversation with Parker's lead character, Carrie Bradshaw. In the spinoff, Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) were back on the New York City streets and fans' TV screens. 'And Just Like That' finale to end Season 3 The show is set to end with a two-part finale on Aug. 7 and Aug. 14 on HBO Max. Sarah Jessica Parker speaks out on 'AJLT' ending In an Instagram post after the news broke, Parker said a heartfelt goodbye to a character she's loved for nearly 30 years. "Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her," Parker wrote. "The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all." She echoed King's earlier message, writing,"MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete." "AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us," Parker said. "I am better for every single day I spent with you." Davis added in her own Instagram post: "I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever." Despite a loyal following of "SATC" fans and new viewers, the show has drawn criticism for its confusing plotlines and character development since Season 1. 'Excited & Honored' - Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Celebrates Milestone
'Excited & Honored' - Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Celebrates Milestone originally appeared on The Spun. When the Dallas Cowboys play their first home game at AT&T Stadium this season, there'll be plenty of eyes on their cheerleading squad. It was recently announced that every member of "America's Sweethearts" will receive a 400 percent pay increase this season. Just for reference, former Cowboys cheerleader Jada McLean said she made $15 per hour and $500 for each appearance last season. One cheerleader who'll benefit from this raise is Anna Kate Sundvold. She officially joined "America's Sweethearts" in 2023, making her the second member of her family to represent the franchise. "I grew up always feeling that I was in her shadow, so I decided to go to a different college than she did to make my own path," Anna Kate said. "However, choosing a school about 45 minutes away from Dallas, I was able to see the love Caroline had for this organization and all the girls within. Each girl is so driven in life, and I knew I wanted to surround my years following college with a group of people like them and continue doing what I love most." Prior to becoming a cheerleader for the Cowboys, she was on TCU's dance team. Although the 2025 season is still over a month away, Anna Kate has reason to celebrate this weekend. On Friday night, Anna Kate announced that she'll once again represent the Cowboys this fall. It'll mark her third season in Dallas. "Year 3," she wrote for her Instagram caption. "Forever grateful for these girls and this team! Excited and honored to take on another year." Countless members of the Cowboys' cheerleading squad had kind things to say about Anna Kate. "Cannot wait to dance next to you all year long! Love you so much," Kayla Hayes wrote. "Love you," rookie cheerleader Morgan Perschy commented. "So excited for this year together." The Cowboys will host the New York Giants in their home opener on Sept. 14.'Excited & Honored' - Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Celebrates Milestone first appeared on The Spun on Jul 26, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 26, 2025, where it first appeared.

Jennifer Lopez Wears $60 TKEES Flip-Flops: Shop Them Here
Wake up, everyone—Jennifer Lopez just dropped some new vacation pics! On August 1, took to Instagram to share some snapshots from her trip to Egypt, and let me tell ya, she looks ️🔥. More importantly: In multiple pics, she's rocking a pair of minimalist leather TKEES flip-flops that are (a) chic, (b) still in stock, and (c) actually affordable. A miracle! Here she is wearing 'em with a swimsuit and cover-up: And again with a cute lil sundress. Talk about versatility!! This isn't the first time has stepped out in these sweet metallic sandals, either. Just a few weeks ago, she was spotted wearing the same pair of TKEES while out and about in right around the same time, Jennifer Aniston sported a pair of brown TKEES with baggy jeans while walking around L.A. Need more evidence that TKEES are the It-girl sandal of choice? Kylie Jenner was also seen wearing a pair of black TKEES Lily Liners in Italy in early July (which, btw, are available on Amazon!). What I love about TKEES: the soft Brazilian leather, the minimalist silhouette, and—best of all—the cushioned insole for extra comfort with each step. TKEES are available to shop on the brand's website, as well as from Amazon, Saks Fifth Avenue, Revolve, Zappos, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and more. There you'll find flip-flops in tons of styles (including the celeb-approved Lily sandal), including shades ranging from nudes and pigments to glitters and glosses. However! If you're looking to get exact Lily Metallics in Blink, then you'll likely have to buy them direct from TKEES, as they're sold out almost everywhere else! Flip-flop szn isn't over yet, so go score a pair of these cuties while you still can.
