An orange alert for heavy rainfall has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for various states, including Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala and Karnataka. The capital will see a generally cloudy sky and might experience light to moderate rain, accompanied with Thunderstorms/ Lightning. Maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi would likely be in the range of 31 to 33° celsius and 23 to 25° celsius respectively.
The minimum temperature will be below normal upto 2 to 4° celsius, and the maximum temperature will be below normal up to 2 to 4° Celsius. 17 July

Delhi will see a partly cloudy sky. Very light to light rain might be accompanied with Thunderstorms/Lightning. Temperature over Delhi would be in the range of 33 to 35° Celsius and 24 to 26° Celsius respectively.

Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and East Uttar Pradesh will likely experience heavy rainfall between 16 and 21 July.
Heavy rainfall has been predicted in Punjab during 16, 17 and 21 July over Haryana, 17th and 21st July and over West Uttar Pradesh during 16-21 July by IMD.
Rajasthan will see similar conditions during 16–17 July
Very heavy rainfall will be seen in Uttarakhand on 17, 20, 21 July
The western Himalayan region and a few places over the plains would experience moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm lightning during the next 7 days. East and Central India
Madhya Pradesh during 16–19 July, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand during 16–17 July and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 16th July are very likely to continue receiving heavy rainfall
Heavy rainfall has been predicted by IMD, over Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim on 16th July and during 19 to 21 July.
Very heavy rainfall has been predicted over West Madhya Pradesh on 18th July, East Madhya Pradesh on 16 and 17 July, and over Bihar and Jharkhand on 16 July.
During the next seven days, moderate rainfall has been predicted at most places, accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning. West India
Konkan and Goa on 16 and 19 July , Ghat areas of Madhya Pradesh will receive heavy rainfall on 20 and 21 July.
During the next five days, moderate rainfall at many/some pieces are very likely. Northeast India
During the next seven days, moderate rainfall at many places would be accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning, and is likely to continue over Northeast India.
On 16 July, and during 19–21 July, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, would receive heavy rainfall. South Peninsular India
Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Coastal and South interior Karnataka would receive very heavy rainfall during 16–21 July.
Heavy rainfall has been predicted over North interior Karnataka on 16 July, over Lakshadweep on 19 and 20 July, over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during 17–21 July, over Rayalaseema during 17–19 July and over Telangana on 17 and 18 July.
IMD has also predicted strong surface winds (speed reaching 40–50 kmph) very likely over South Peninsula, India during the next five days.
Moderate rainfall has been predicted over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana during the next seven days.

Yellow alert issued after heavy rain
NEW DELHI: Several parts of Delhi received rain on Wednesday afternoon, following which the IMD issued a yellow alert. The areas that received rain included parts of Central Delhi, South Delhi and Southeast Delhi. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the yellow colour code indicates a chance of significant rainfall with the possibility of isolated flooding in low-lying areas and potential disruptions to outdoor activities. Meanwhile, Delhi on Wednesday recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5 degrees celsius, three notches below the season's normal, the weather office said. The relative humidity at 8.30 am on Wednesday was 89%. The maximum temperature hovered around 34 degrees, the IMD said. The air quality was recorded in the satisfactory category, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am recorded 60. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.

IMD issues Yellow alert for Jharkhand, schools to remain closed in Palamu amid heavy rain
RANCHI: A yellow alert has been issued for all districts of Jharkhand. According to the Meteorological Center in Ranchi, there will be continuous rain in the state from July 17 to July 20. During this time, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms in several districts. The Met Department has appealed to people to remain alert and cautious during these days. 'There will be light to moderate rain in various areas of Jharkhand during this period. There is also a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas,' stated the alert issued by the Met Department. In view of the possibility of lightning incidents, a yellow alert has been issued, which indicates potential danger and may affect public life. It further added that a low-pressure area has formed in south-west Bihar and adjoining eastern Uttar Pradesh. In the next 24 hours, this low-pressure area will move towards Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in the form of a cyclonic circulation. It will also affect the weather in Jharkhand. During the last 24 hours, the monsoon remained active in almost all districts of the state. Heavy rainfall was also recorded at some places. The highest rainfall was measured at 204 mm in Chainpur of Palamu. On the other hand, 67 mm of rain was recorded in Deoghar, 64.6 mm in Jamshedpur, 9 mm in Chaibasa, and 3 mm in Ranchi. The Department also informed that there will be no major change in the maximum temperature at present. However, in the coming three days, the maximum temperature may increase by 2 to 3 degrees. The highest temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Saraikela, while the lowest temperature of 21 degrees Celsius was recorded in Latehar. Meanwhile, in the wake of incessant rain in Palamu, the district administration has ordered all schools to remain closed on July 17. Deputy Commissioner Samira S. has directed all BDOs and COs to keep an eye on their respective areas. Safe places have also been marked for villages situated on riverbanks so that affected families may be given shelter there. The Assistant Municipal Commissioner has been instructed to form a special team to deal with the problem of waterlogging in the city. The team will drain the water using motor pumps. Arrangements have also been made to deal with the situation of falling trees. According to Palamu SP Rishma Rameshan, warnings are being issued advising people not to go near riverbanks. Public announcements are being made for this purpose. Adequate police force has been deployed.

Andhra, Telangana Weather Forecast: Low Pressure To Bring Heavy Rain From Today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that the system is likely to strengthen into a moderate cyclone and is tracking towards Indonesia. This weather development has led to increased cloud activity over the Bay of Bengal, enhancing the probability of rainfall across the Telugu-speaking states. According to the IMD, Telangana is expected to experience heavy rainfall from July 17 to 19. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and the Union Territory of Yanam are forecast to receive similar weather between July 18 and 20, while Rayalaseema is likely to see rain on July 18 and 19. Widespread heavy to very heavy showers are also anticipated in Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka through to July 22. Wind speeds across southern India are projected to range between 40 and 50 kilometres per hour over the next five days. Throughout the week, light rainfall is expected in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Yanam. On July 17, storm clouds from Uttar Pradesh moved southwards in a fan-shaped pattern, resulting in morning showers in the northern districts of Telangana. Rain is predicted to intensify after 5pm and continue until the early hours of Friday, with moderate to heavy downpours likely in several regions, including Hyderabad. In Andhra Pradesh, similar cloud formations are moving towards the Bay of Bengal, bringing morning showers to northern parts of the state. Meanwhile, winds over the Bay of Bengal have reached 38 kilometres per hour. The IMD has clarified that, contrary to circulating reports, there is no low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal at present. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range between 31 and 34 degree Celsius in Telangana and 35 to 36 degree Celsius in Andhra Pradesh. Coastal regions will remain hot throughout the day, with increased chances of evening rainfall. Humidity levels are expected to remain high overnight, 85% in Telangana and 89% in Andhra Pradesh, likely contributing to heavy overnight rainfall and a wet start to the following day.
