People visit replicas of Arupadai Veedu ahead of Lord Murugan conference
For the people witnessing the six abodes of Lord Murugan, located in different parts of Tamil Nadu, under one roof was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The people from far and near thronged the venue throughout the day. People were seen clicking photographs and selfies enthusiastically in front of the replicas of the temples with their family members and friends. They were given prasadam following the darshan.
Security has been beefed up at the venue of the conference to handle the crowd. People from far and near are expected to come to the event. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan will be attending the conference. Considering that leaders from other States and State BJP leaders will be attending the event, additional security arrangements have been made by Madurai City police.
The police have announced temporary traffic diversions in the city in view of the conference and in order to ease traffic congestion along the route. Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi who earlier in the day participated in the International Yoga Day event at Velammal Global School visited the venue of the conference. He went around the venue and took a look at the statues of Lord Murugan placed inside each of the six replicas of the six abodes of Lord Murugan.

Vijayawada: Thirty King Cobra hatchlings were successfully released into the Eastern Ghats in what is claimed to be the first-of-its-kind, community-led conservation initiative in the state. 'This success sets the stage for the next big step — a proposed 2,400-hectare King Cobra Sanctuary in the Eastern Ghats. Once notified, it would be the first of its kind in the world, placing AP at the forefront of species-specific conservation. Let this be a model of what can be achieved when communities and conservation go hand in hand,' added Pawan Kalyan. Through an earlier post, the Deputy Chief Minister directed forest department officials to regularly alert people in areas where elephants are roaming. He asked them to form WhatsApp groups with villagers to provide advance information.

VIJAYAWADA: Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, who also holds the portfolios of Forest and Environment, has directed Forest Department officials to enforce round-the-clock surveillance in Chittoor and Tirupati districts, where elephant herds have been damaging crops and posing risks to villagers. During a video conference on Tuesday, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed recent incidents of crop destruction and the death of a farmer following an elephant attack. Pawan Kalyan stressed the need for real-time alerts to be issued through village-level WhatsApp groups, enabling timely warnings about elephant movement. He instructed that these alerts be monitored by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) offices and the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF). He also called for immediate implementation of measures to divert elephant herds away from farmland and back into forest areas using non-invasive techniques. Officials also reported a new incident in Chandragiri constituency, where a herd of 11 elephants, including four calves, damaged fields near Satya Sai ST Colony close to Kalyani Dam.
