Kanwar Dhillon: I'd rather keep my personal life protected and let my work do the talking

Having spent several years in the industry, Kanwar Dhillon, currently seen in Rahul Tewary's Udne Ki Aasha, doesn't let numbers dictate his craft or mindset. He says, 'After being in the industry for 13 to 14 years and having done a variety of shows, I've seen both highs and lows.
But to have a show rest on your shoulders and perform well is a different feeling altogether. That said, being number one has never been the main goal. I've conditioned myself to handle both success and failure in the same way. If a show does well, that's fantastic. But I don't feel disappointed if it's second or third. It's all part of healthy competition, and that's meant to happen.'
He continues, 'There's always pressure on the entire team to deliver every week, but we don't stress constantly about being on top.
That tension never arises because we're confident about our content. There's a reason why the show is working — it connects on a different level altogether. I do my job as an actor, and the rest is destiny and what the audience gives back.'

On the personal front, Kanwar has been in a relationship with his Pandya Store co-actor Alice Kaushik for the past two years. However, their bond often comes under the scanner, with frequent rumours about a breakup. Just last week, Kanwar posted a story on Instagram affirming that they are very much together and don't need to issue clarifications every month. 'I'd rather keep my personal life protected and let my work do the talking,' he says, adding, 'Alice and I are very much together! I posted that story because people on social media keep speculating, time and again, that we're no longer together, constantly scrutinising our relationship, and fuelling unwanted gossip — something neither of us likes to entertain.
So, I felt it was important to shut down the rumors and put an end to this never-ending saga.'
