Pakistan Day: Pakistan's largest laser light show at Minar-e-Pakistan
On the occasion of Pakistan Day, under the guidance of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the country's largest laser light show was held at Minar-e-Pakistan.
For the first time in this grand event, the individuals who presented the Pakistan Resolution at Manto Park were honoured with a display of lights.
Late at night, Minar-e-Pakistan lit up with green and white lights, creating a breathtaking sight visible from afar. During the laser light show, images of the crescent, star, and national flag appeared on the monument, with every part of it glowing brightly.
The architectural design of Minar-e-Pakistan was accentuated with the help of laser lights, highlighting its star-shaped base and enhancing its constructional beauty.
The surrounding laser lights mesmerised the viewers, and a large number of citizens gathered to witness this historic moment.
Other historical landmarks of Lahore, such as the Lahore Fort, Museum, Punjab Assembly, and GPO, were also illuminated with green lights, presenting a beautiful visual of the national flag's theme.
The public praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for organising the spectacular light show and expressed their appreciation for paying the best tribute to Pakistan on this national occasion.
Citizens remarked that the shimmering lights at Minar-e-Pakistan created a dream-like atmosphere, as if a procession of sparkling green and white stars was emerging on the horizon.
The nation is celebrating Pakistan Day on Sunday with a renewed commitment to transforming the country into an Islamic welfare state as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The day marks the anniversary of the Lahore Resolution, passed on March 23, 1940, which laid the foundation for a separate homeland for Muslims of the Subcontinent.
Celebrations began with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals. Special prayers were offered after Fajr for the nation's progress and prosperity.
This year, the Pakistan Day parade was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr instead of its traditional venue at Shakarparian Parade Ground.

The action was taken under Rule 210(3) of the Rules of Procedure of the Punjab Assembly, 1997. Despite receiving disqualification requests from the treasury benches, Speaker Khan granted the suspended MPAs an opportunity to present their case under Article 10-A of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to a fair hearing. The hearing took place in the speaker's chamber at the Punjab Assembly. Subsequently, a negotiation committee comprising members of the PML-N, its allied parties, and PTI was formed to resolve the impasse. While no formal announcement was made after earlier rounds, both sides described the talks as productive. Sources indicated that the speaker's final ruling would determine the timing of the MPAs' restoration. ‘Form-47 mandate' brings about no change: JI chief
LAHORE: Chief Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has urged state institutions to revisit their conduct of imposing corrupt elements on the people, stating that rulers brought through Form 47 cannot bring meaningful change. Addressing the participants of JI central training workshop at Mansoorah on Thursday, he criticized both the government and opposition parties for engaging in a contest of flattery toward former US President Donald Trump, adding that a key backer of Zionist aggression in Gaza has now been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Rehman said the PPP no longer represents the public but continues its rule in Sindh due to establishment support. 'All lost seats in Karachi were handed over to the PPP and MQM. Without institutional support, PPP could not have secured the mayor's office in Karachi,' he remarked. He highlighted the long-standing deprivation faced by the people of Sindh under PPP rule, noting that despite an education budget of over Rs 450 billion, education in the province is in ruins. 'More than 10 million children are out of school, and there are fake recruitments in educational institutions,' he said. He also condemned the feudal system in Sindh, saying that criminal elements enjoyed protection from tribal chieftains. 'The Sardari system is a cruel relic. People must rise against it. Community committees should be formed to eradicate social evils and drug abuse,' he said, assuring that JI would support every individual who speaks the truth. Rehman emphasized that unlike family-run political dynasties or sect-based religious parties, JI is a movement free of ethnic, provincial, or sectarian prejudice and is devoted to the establishment of Islamic values. 'In our view, politics is a form of worship. We are uniting people for peace, development, prosperity, and the implementation of Islamic governance,' he said. Questioning the integrity of the current political elite, he asked, 'Should politicians involved in the buying and selling of MNAs and MPAs be considered great leaders?' He added the time has passed when dynastic political parties could fool the people, especially the youth. 'Youth support for JI is rising. We believe the solution to our problems lies not in changing faces but in changing the system.' Commenting on the situation in Gaza, the JI leaders said the United States is continuously arming Israel, which he called a 'rampaging elephant' now expanding its aggression to Syria as well. 'If the rulers of the Muslim world were true representatives of their people, Israel would never have dared to commit such atrocities against the people of Gaza,' he said, urging Muslim nations to bring true leadership to power in their respective countries. CM's message on ‘World Day for International Justice'
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that where justice is not served, darkness of oppression engulfs the entire society. 'If there is no justice, development and prosperity remain an unfulfilled dream,' the CM said, in her message on World Day for International Justice. She said, 'Justice is such a ray of hope which brightens the hopes and aspirations of the aggrieved without which the destiny of a nation can never be illuminated and aspirations of the people can never be fulfilled. Where there is injustice, distrust, hatred, sedition and chaos prevail.' She highlighted, 'Injustice not only affects the individual but sedition weakens the roots of the entire society.' She vowed, 'Giving foremost priority to justice and equality in Punjab is my firm resolve. Institutions like PERA are being established to eliminate injustice.' She outlined, 'The main aim of formulating the policies of the Punjab government is to provide equal rights and justice to every individual without any discrimination. It is our prime responsibility and our firm pledge to uphold justice across the board. The light of justice can illuminate the life of every individual in a civilized society.'
