Israeli drone followed Gazan doctor home to kill his family: Colleague
Nada Al-Hadithy said the situation in Gaza is 'absolutely desperate.' One of her patients, a 21-year-old woman who was six months pregnant, lost her baby after an Israeli bomb detonated near her tent, seriously injuring her.
'Her husband was killed, she lost her eye, she had an open fracture and both her legs were completely destroyed from the bomb blast,' Al-Hadithy said.
'This woman is completely emaciated, with no vitamins, no food. And one day her baby stopped moving.'
A 'school classroom's worth of children' are dying in Gaza every day, the doctor said, adding that many Gazan health workers are suffering from starvation along with the general population there.
In the three weeks she worked in Gaza, Al-Hadithy said there was a 'tangible difference in the amount of starvation and the emaciation of our patients.'
She added: 'Even the severity of and relentlessness of the bombings was worse. It was mass casualty after mass casualty, with people being blown up in their tents, which were meant to be in green zones. The situation was catastrophic.'
She described her colleague whose family was killed by an Israeli drone as 'patient, joyful and hardworking.'
He was followed home, according to eyewitness testimony from Al-Hadithy and other medical workers, by an Israeli quadcopter first-person-view drone.
The drone's operator chose not to 'kill him on the route where he was on his own,' she said. Instead, the operator 'waited until he was in his tent and greeted his three children and killed all of them.'
Al-Hadithy said she regularly saw emaciated children while working in Gaza, adding: 'You've got 2 million starving people in (an area) the same size as Exeter, which in our country and in our census in 2021 had 130,000 people in it. That's 2 million people with no water, no sanitation, no food, no medical supplies.'
She praised her Palestinian colleagues in Gaza's besieged health sector, saying: 'Never before have I seen such dignified, committed people.'

Bassal said that five people were killed by a nightly air strike on a tent in Al-Mawasi in south Gaza, an area Israeli authorities designated as a safe zone early on in the war. 'It's said to be a green zone and it's safe, but it's not. They also say that the aid (distribution) is safe, but people die while obtaining aid,' said Adham Younes, who lost a relative in the strike. 'There's no safety within the Gaza Strip, everyone is exposed to death, everyone is subject to injury,' the 30-year-old told AFP. Mahmud Younes, another Gazan who said he witnessed the strike, said: 'We found women screaming -- they were covered in blood. The entire family has been injured.' Avalon Pharma signs EUR 3M contract to market GLP1 products
Middle East Pharmaceutical Industries Co. (Avalon Pharma) signed a contract worth EUR 3 million with Adalvo Limited, a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Malta, to secure the rights for the registration and marketing their GLP 1 products for weight loss and obesity. In a statement to Tadawul, the company said that the contract is valid for seven years, adding that the agreement allows Avalon Pharma to register, market and distribute the product under its Trademark in select countries of Middle East and North Africa, with exclusive rights for Saudi Arabia. The agreement is forecast to generate SAR 294 million over the duration of the contract, once regulatory approvals are received, and sales commence. Prior to going to market, the company will ensure receiving full approvals from the Saudi Arabian Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) as well as the respective authorities in each country in which it will market and distribute the product, the statement added. The deal includes provisions for expanding to other GLP products and potential for localized manufacturing. Avalon Pharma also expected that the performance will reflect positively in a gradual manner as sales accelerate post-launch, noting that no related parties are included in the deal. Any material developments, including expected launch date, related to this agreement will be communicated in due course, the statement indicated.

First Guillain-Barré Deaths Reported in Gaza Amid Warnings of Outbreak
Gaza's health ministry said on Tuesday it had registered the Palestinian enclave's first three deaths from Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) – two children and a 60-year-old woman – warning of a 'dangerous escalation' in paralysis cases as war-related malnutrition and unsanitary conditions fuel disease. Ayman Abu Rahma, head of preventive medicine, told Asharq Al-Awsat that the ministry registered 64 GBS infections in the past two months alone, compared with four or five cases a year before the conflict. 'Without prompt treatment within the first 48 hours, patients' health deteriorates quickly,' he said, adding that shortages of intravenous immunoglobulin and other drugs were proving deadly. Laboratory tests have detected enteroviruses and the poliovirus in recent samples, the ministry said, evidence of what it called a 'fertile environment for uncontrollable outbreaks.' It appealed to international agencies to rush life-saving medicines into the strip and to press Israel to lift its blockade.
