Child star Millena Brandão has passed away.
The young actor and model, who appeared in the Netflix TV series Sintonia, died at age 11, her parents confirmed on Monday to Brazilian news outlet G1.
She passed away late last week after falling ill, although her official cause of death remains unknown, according to her parents, Thays and Luiz Brandão.
They told the news outlet their daughter, who also appeared in Apple TV's The Childhood of Romeo and Juliet, started experiencing severe headaches, leg pain, drowsiness and a loss of appetite during the last week of April.
"She had a headache, but she could walk and talk. The doctor said it was dengue fever, but he didn't do any tests. He told us to take her back home," her mother told the news outlet.
They returned to the hospital on 26 April, but she was sent home again to rest. Two days later, Millena fainted in her bathroom at home.
According to The Daily Mail, the tween's doctor said she had multiple cardiac arrests between the day she arrived back at the hospital and 1 May.
She was pronounced dead a day later.
Her mother told G1 that she and her husband had had to make the difficult decision to turn off her life support.
"I said that if we were to let her little heart stop beating on its own, we would suffer more, and so would she. And we asked for the machines to be turned off," she shared.

Oneskin Announces $20 Million Investment From Prelude Growth Partners

Oneskin, the longevity-focussed skincare brand based in California, has secured a $20 million investment from growth equity firm Prelude Growth Partners, the company announced on Wednesday. Prelude Growth Partners' investment buys out a former investor and will not dilute any other shareholders' equity. 'We were really impressed with Prelude immediately,' said Oneskin chief executive Carolina Reis Oliveira, adding that the firm had reached out with detailed plans and suggestions as to how a partnership could be fruitful. Oneskin was founded in 2021 by four Brazilian scientists and uses a proprietary peptide known as OS-01 which the company claims has unique anti-ageing properties. It offers products for the face, body and hair. Its primary channels are its own e-commerce site and Amazon; Reis Oliveira said more than two-third of its business are generated by subscriptions. Prelude Growth Partners' other beauty investments include the premium skin and body care lines Sol de Janeiro, Summer Fridays and Tower28. Two brands it invested in via the brand incubator The Center have now sold — skincare line Naturium to E.l.f Beauty in 2023, and fragrance maker Phlur to TSG Consumer Partners in July 2025. On Tuesday, it announced it has closed a third fund of $600 million earmarked for high-growth consumer brands. 'We're in a good place financially and have a good cushion in terms of cash,' said Reis Oliveira, adding that it will not need to raise again in the near future and that the funds will go towards a brand refresh, supporting clinical trials and on new hires. Oneskin recently appointed a vice president of growth marketing and a creative director, and will soon recruit a head of brand and chief marketing officer. The brand will continue to weigh up a retail entry for 2027 and invest in product development and marketing. Where Was 'Wednesday' Filmed?

On Location peels back the curtain on some of your favorite films, television shows, and more. Dark, deadpan, and fabulously glossy—Netflix's Wednesday, a spin-off of The Addams Family, quickly found its place as one of 2022's most zeitgeisty hits. In the days following its release, the series surpassed Stranger Things as the most-watched new series in its week of release, racking up 341.2 million hours of watch time across the world. The series stars Jenna Ortega (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, You) as the eponymous Wednesday, the daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams (played by Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones). The series follows Wednesday as she enrolls at Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts, after she's expelled from her high school for an incident involving piranhas, the school swimming pool and the boys' water polo team. Cr. Jonathan Hession/Netflix © 2025 Netflix Despite the speedy recommission from Netflix, season two of the smash-hit series has been three years in the making. However, fans are treated to a host of new famous faces during the new adventures, including Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump and Billie Piper as Isadora Capri. Principal photography for the second series began in May 2024 in Ireland, with shooting taking place over six months. While much of Wednesday's first outing made use of Romania's Gothic backdrops, it was Ireland that the production team turned to this time around. On the team's decision to shoot in Ireland, showrunner Miles Millar said, 'Everything about Ireland fits the sensibility of the show. We have incredible woods. We have beautiful castles. We have the lush greens, the gray skies. Even though it was summer, some nights were very cold. We were shivering, but it looked fantastic. There's something very magical about the light in Ireland that really lends itself to the show and gives it something that's very unique and special that translates to the screen. Even though the show is set in Vermont, it makes it feel more aesthetically like a Tim Burton setting.' Where was Wednesday season 2 filmed? Wednesday. The studio offers various spaces spanning up to 30,000 square feet—a series of spaces currently under construction will span an additional 170,000 square feet.
