Defence Minister Singh further said that it is not a small matter that our Air Force has access to every corner of Pakistan. "Today, India's fighter planes are capable of striking every corner of Pakistan without crossing the border. The whole world has seen how you destroyed nine terrorist hideouts on Pakistani soil; in the subsequent action, many of their airbases were destroyed," said Singh.
The Defence Minister further added both - India's war policy and technology have changed. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India won't tolerate any nuclear blackmail.
The Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir has long been an agenda of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Its leaders, like Yogi Adityanath, have repeatedly raised the issue. The latest operation is the most significant step yet under orders from federal government in Islamabad, he said. Rehmat Ullah, 35, an Afghan, said his family migrated to Pakistan's northwestern Peshawar city decades ago and now is preparing to return home. 'I have five children and my concern is that they will miss their education,' he said. 'I was born here, my children were born here and now we are going back,' he said. Millions have fled to Pakistan over the past four decades to escape war, political unrest and economic hardship. The renewed deportation drive follows a nationwide crackdown launched in 2023 targeting foreigners living illegally in Pakistan. The Interior Ministry, which oversees the campaign, did not immediately comment. Qaiser Khan Afridi, a spokesperson for the UN refugee agency, expressed deep concern over the government's recent actions. The Agreement offers 100% duty-free market access for Indian exports to the UK, covering 99% of the UK's tariff lines, thereby unlocking new opportunities for several sectors, particularly Technical Textiles. Shaleen Toshniwal, Chairman, MATEXIL, welcomed the CETA and emphasized that key sub-segments such as Agrotech, Geotech, Hometech, Indutech, Packtech, and Sportech are poised for strong growth under the agreement, citing India's cost competitiveness and manufacturing strength. Further , he added that "With the removal of tariff barriers, Indian exporters can now significantly enhance their footprint in the UK across high-potential categories like medical textiles, protective wear, geo-textiles, industrial fabrics, and agro-tech textiles." India already possesses the technical capability to produce high-performance textiles in line with global standards. The India-UK CETA will allow Indian manufacturers to compete on equal terms with global players in the UK market. MATEXIL, which is entrusted with the export promotion of both Manmade Fibre Textiles and Technical Textiles, is actively collaborating with industry stakeholders and the Ministry of Textiles to: - Identify priority export products, - Support compliance with UK regulatory and sustainability standards, and - Facilitate buyer-seller linkages and certification support. Bhadresh Dodhia further advised exporters that "Until the agreement is fully implemented, Indian Technical Textile exporters should proactively study UK market requirements, technical standards, and sustainability norms to better position themselves and maximize the benefits of the CETA."
