Three women held for breaking into house
In the absence of Muhammad Ahmed Nawaz, a resident of Street Number One in the Najaf Colony area of Peoples Colony, three unknown women entered the house using a duplicate key and stole three tola jewelry earrings, four gold bangles, a mobile phone and Rs970,000 cash from the house and fled.
After the video of the incident came to light, SHO Peoples Colony, Rana Mughfur Ahmed Khan, along with ASI Rana Abdul Hafeez Khan, raided various places and arrested three women of the gang who were involved in house thefts including Samina Bibi, wife of Shakir, resident of Katchi Abadi (slum area) Railway Station, Chiniot, Gandova daughter of Sila and Zafran Bibi, wife of Imdad, resident of Chiniot and recovered stolen cash and gold ornaments from them and started questioning them.
According to the police, the three women revealed dozens of incidents by breaking locks in posh areas and opening locks with duplicate keys, which are being investigated.
City Police Officer, Sahibzada Bilal Umar announced a certificate of appreciation for the SHO.

Wildlife dept recovers black bear
Punjab Wildlife Rangers have carried out combing operations in the Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan regions, recovering a male black bear and thwarting an illegal wild boar hunting attempt. According to the Wildlife Department, the operation in the Bhalwal area of Sargodha led to the recovery of a male black bear that was being kept in illegal captivity. The bear has been relocated to the Wildlife Park in Joharabad. The suspect was caught red-handed and has been taken into custody, with legal proceedings now underway. In a separate operation in the D.G. Khan region, wildlife rangers acted swiftly on reports of illegal wild boar hunting using dogs. Two individuals were arrested on the spot and fined Rs30,000. Chief Wildlife Ranger Mubeen Elahi stated that the department's combing operations will continue uninterrupted as part of its broader conservation efforts. He assured that the wildlife rangers are fully supported by the department and should continue their duties without fear or hesitation. The Wildlife Department further reported that a total of 13 black bears have so far been rescued from various locations during recent enforcement actions. All animals have been transferred to designated rescue centers and secure facilities.

Pindi cracks down on sugar hoarders
The police and district administration have launched a sweeping crackdown across the Rawalpindi division against profiteering and hoarding of sugar. During inspections at various locations, 139 violations were reported, resulting in fines totaling Rs761,000, the registration of two FIRs, the arrest of 39 individuals, and the sealing of 33 premises. Rawalpindi district reported 64 violations, leading to Rs542,500 in fines, two FIRs, 28 arrests, and the sealing of 26 businesses. In Attock, 22 violations resulted in Rs. 89,000 in fines, 10 arrests, and 2 premises sealed. Jhelum witnessed 26 violations, with Rs44,000 in fines and five establishments sealed. In Chakwal, eight violators were fined a total of Rs64,000. Murree authorities found 19 violations, imposed Rs. 21,500 in fines, and arrested one individual. Rawalpindi Commissioner Aamir Khattak has directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure that sugar mills adhere to government-notified prices and that a steady supply chain is maintained. He emphasised that the crackdown on price manipulators must be intensified, and warned that "sugar mafias" will not be allowed to exploit consumers. Magistrates have been instructed to stay active in the field and to carry out strict, impartial enforcement against retailers charging above the official price. Arrests must be made wherever there is a breach of the notified rates. Additionally, DC counters have been ordered to ensure the availability and quality of all essential commodities.
