CPI terms BJP a fascist force, blames Cong. for INDIA bloc's setback
Inaugurating the delegates' meeting of the CPI district conference here, he said the party did not doubt the BJP's fascist nature, saying that both the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) openly followed fascist ideals.
'Those who think that the BJP is semi-fascist or neo-fascist are mistaken. The RSS and the BJP follow the fascist path carved out by Hitler and Mussolini,' Mr. Viswam said.
Citing the RSS publication Vichara Dhara, Mr. Viswam claimed that the organisation identified Muslims, Christians, and Communists as its primary enemies. 'The central task before Indian political parties today is to resist fascism, and the CPI will lead efforts to unite all democratic forces against it,' he said.
He came down on Congress for its 'failure' to uphold the objectives of the INDIA alliance. 'The Congress remains preoccupied with internal matters and lacks the political vision necessary to defeat the BJP. This shortcoming stalled the progress of the alliance,' he said.
Mr. Viswam dismissed the Centre's Atmanirbhar Bharat programme as hollow rhetoric, alleging that the call for self-reliance was undermined by a push for foreign direct investment. 'They [the Centre] are handing over the country's economic sovereignty to foreign players while diverting public attention through religious polarisation,' he observed.
Warning against rising religious fanaticism, Mr. Viswam said, 'Though religion is a reality in India, fanaticism is unacceptable. When combined with fascist politics, even justice and faith are destroyed.' On internal party discipline, Mr. Viswam stressed that criticism should be confined within the party and not aired on social media.
Senior CPI leader K.V. Gangadharan hoisted the party flag. C.P. Shaijan, P. Santhosh Kumar, MP, K.P. Rajendran, and E. Chandrasekharan were present.

Not only Bengalis, every citizen has right to go anywhere in India, says economist Amartya Sen
Wading into the political slugfest over the alleged harassment of Bengali migrant workers in other parts of the country, noted economist Amartya Sen said every citizen of India has the freedom to go wherever they want, and any effort to curb that must be objected to. Speaking to reporters at his ancestral home in Santiniketan, Sen said it doesn't matter whether a person is a Bengali, Punjabi or a Marwari, the freedom to go wherever he wants and speak whichever language he wants is his constitutional right. "An Indian citizen has the right of movement in the entire country. There is no mention of territorial rights anywhere in our Constitution," he said."Every citizen of India has the right to be happy. We have to respect everyone...," he said on Thursday, responding to a question from reporters on the issue that has rocked the state. Sen said if Bengalis are being tortured and neglected, it must be objected to. "It is not a question of Bengal alone, but the whole country," he added."The language that was integrated with 'Charyapad' (Bangla), its value must be acknowledged. Various poems have been written in that language. The messages of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam have been laid out very clearly in their works. These values must be acknowledged," he TMC has been raising its voice over the last one month, alleging that Bengali-speaking people, especially poor Muslim migrant workers, are being harassed in BJP-ruled states and being branded illegal Bangladeshi Minister Mamata Banerjee has led a mega rally in Kolkata over the issue last month, and also started 'Bhasa Andolan', sharpening her attack on the BJP. The BJP, on the other hand, has dismissed the allegations, claiming that the TMC did not think about the welfare of migrant workers over the last 14 years, and was now raising the issue with an eye on next year's assembly elections in the state.

Ex-cop alleges he was ordered to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to frame 'Bhagwa Terror' narrative in Malegaon blast case
PTI Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat A retired police officer has alleged that he was instructed to arrest Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat to build a narrative around "Bhagwa terror" in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, The Times of India has reported. The claim comes days after a special NIA court acquitted all seven accused, including BJP MP Pragya Thakur and Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, citing lack of credible evidence. In a statement quoted by TOI, retired inspector Mehiboob Mujawar, who was part of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) that initially probed the blast, said the recent acquittal had exposed the 'fake things' done during the investigation.'The verdict exposed the fake investigation done by a fake officer,' Mujawar said, directly naming a senior ATS further alleged that he received confidential orders to act against several individuals, including Ram Kalsangra, Sandip Dange, Dilip Patidar, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. 'I can not say what investigation the ATS did then and why... But I was given some confidential orders regarding personalities like Ram Kalsangra, Sandip Dange, Dilip Patidar and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. All these orders were not such that one could follow them,' TOI quoted Mujawar as claimed he chose not to comply with the orders because he found them 'horrific' and 'knew the reality.''It was beyond my capacity to apprehend a towering personality like Mohan Bhagwat. As I did not follow the orders, a false case was registered against me and it destroyed my career of 40 years,' he said he has documentary proof to support his claims and insisted that the saffron terror theory was fabricated. 'There was no saffron terrorism. Everything was fake,' he Malegaon blast on September 29, 2008, killed six people and injured several others. The explosion took place near a mosque during Ramzan and on the eve of Navratri. The Maharashtra ATS, then led by the late Hemant Karkare, had arrested Pragya Thakur and Prasad Purohit, alleging that the motorcycle used in the blast belonged to Thakur, and that Purohit had sourced RDX from Jammu and Kashmir.
