Major Concern Over 'WWE Night of Champions 2025' Status in Riyadh
There has been some concern over WWE's planned trip to Riyadh for "Night of Champions 2025."
Tensions in the Middle East have led to Qatar closing airspace for the time being. Fightful reports that the word within WWE is that some production team members are stuck in Qatar, as they planned to travel to Riyadh ahead of the on-air talent. There's no word on when the airspaces will be open again.

The report also noted that as WWE continues to monitor the situation, plans remain in place for "Night of Champions" to go on this Saturday. A charter plane is expected to take talent to Riyadh at the midway point of the week.

In an update, Sean Ross Sapp reported that the Saudi Arabian government is expecting "Night of Champions" to take place as planned.
United States fighter jets are reportedly "scrambling" all over Saudi Arabia. WWE stars are expected to be in Riyadh before Friday for the go-home edition of "SmackDown." Neither WWE nor TKO Group Holdings has publicly commented on the situation. Internally, it's business as usual for now.

WWE is set for its final main roster TV event in the United States before heading to Riyadh. Monday's episode of "Raw" will emanate from Nationwide Arena in Columbus. Whether or not WWE plans to address the situation on-air remains to be seen.
"Night of Champions" is set to feature a slew of marquee matches. That includes the Undisputed WWE Championship match between titleholder John Cena and CM Punk. The finals of both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments are also scheduled to take place at the PLE.
Dominik Mysterio is also scheduled to put the WWE Intercontinental Championship at stake against AJ Styles. Jacob Fatu's United States title is set to be on the line against Solo Sikoa.

Tom Brady's Viral Photo With Sofia Vergara Breaks The Internet
Tom Brady's Viral Photo With Sofia Vergara Breaks The Internet originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Tom Brady is a man of many talents, and while there are plenty of very accurate words to use to describe him, most people will agree that 'winner' suits him the best. He's the winningest quarterback in Super Bowl history, led two franchises to the ultimate glory, and is one of the most successful businessmen among professional athletes. If that wasn't enough, it seems like he also has his way with women. Shortly after the reports of his encounter with Sydney Sweeney during Jeff Bezo's wedding, the legendary quarterback made the rounds again for the rumors about his love life. This time, he broke the internet with a photo having dinner with Sofia Vergara, and the fans had plenty to say about it on social media: "That would be an international power couple if I've ever seen one lol," one fan said. "This run for Brady is more impressive than any of his Super Bowl runs," another one added. "IM SICK HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS," one Ohio State fan ranted. "Tom looking for some double coverage, evidently," another fan joked. "Bros on a world tour," one fan commented. Of course, this is all speculation, and there are no official reports about whether Brady and Vergara were on a date or are in fact going out. Then again, that's what happens when two world-famous stars from two different industries get together. Brady lost a big battle in his divorce, but if someone can bounce back after divorcing Giselle Bundchen, that's No. 12. ‘I Hate It!': James Gunn Reacts to Peacemaker Cameos in Black Adam & Shazam 2
James Gunn has shared his reaction to the DCEU Peacemaker cameos and what they mean going forward for the DCU. Peacemaker Season 1 was technically part of the DCEU, which ended with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Peter Safran and Gunn have since launched a new shared DC universe, the DCU, which so far includes Creature Commandos and Superman. While the DCU is a new continuity separate from the DCEU, Peacemaker Season 2, which arrives next month, will be part of the DCU. Gunn has previously stated that the new season will address the continuity change. Peacemaker, however, wasn't just confined to the one season in the DCEU; John Cena 's character was part of The Suicide Squad, which was directed by Gunn, while Jennifer Holland 's Emilia Harcourt appeared in Black Adam. She and Steve Agee 's John Economos then return in a mid-credits scene featured in 2023's Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Rizwan Manji, meanwhile, plays Jamil in Peacemaker Season 1 and then shows up as an unnamed character in Fury of the Gods. Gunn has previously said that he thinks of the Shazam! character as 'Jamil's more successful brother.' What did James Gunn say about Peacemaker and the DCEU? Speaking with Den of Geek, Gunn confirmed that Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods are not part of the DCU despite the Peacemaker characters' appearances. He commented, 'They're not canon! I hate it!' Regarding how Peacemaker Season 2 handles the DCEU and DCU continuities, Gunn said, 'There are certain things from the old universe that we refer to in Peacemaker season 2, but until then, they're not canon. Almost everything from season 1 is canon, but season 2 will explain everything that is or is not canon.' Peacemaker Season 2 premieres on HBO Max on August 21, 2025. The season will have eight episodes. The first season, meanwhile, along with Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, are both available to watch on the streaming platform at this time.

Drew McIntyre Reveals Something Vince McMahon Refused To Let Him Do
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Drew McIntyre has offered a detailed and fascinating comparison between the creative processes of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and current Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque. Speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, the former WWE Champion explained how the change in leadership has allowed him to develop a more complex and authentic character. McIntyre described Triple H's approach as more "modern thinking," which contrasts sharply with Vince's more singular and protective vision for his character. Vince's "Warrior" McIntyre explained that under McMahon's creative direction, his character was often presented in a more traditional, one-dimensional "warrior" archetype. He believes Vince's vision for him was meant to be protective, but it ultimately became limiting. "For Vince, I think for me, personally, he had a certain image of me, and he was always looking to protect me as this warrior character," McIntyre said (H/T to "And if I want to try something outside the box and stuff I'm doing now, like, for me personally, it probably wouldn't happen just because he was like, 'No, this is my Drew. This is my warrior. This is how I see it.'" This singular vision dates back to McIntyre's first WWE run, when McMahon personally dubbed him "The Chosen One," a label that ultimately failed to connect with the audience and led to his eventual release from the company. WWE/Getty Images More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match Creative Freedom With Triple H Under the creative direction of Triple H, McIntyre feels he has been given the freedom to be himself and explore more nuanced aspects of his personality. This has led directly to his current, critically acclaimed character who often blurs the line between heel and babyface. "Hunter is very much of the modern thinking," he explained. "We're going to try something different. We're going to let you... be yourself, and let this personality that he knew I had shine." He pointed to the success of The Bloodline saga as the prime example of the deep, layered storytelling that is now flourishing in WWE. "WWE shouldn't be black and white," McIntyre said. "We can grow these deep, layered, complex characters... I've been able to develop this McIntyre character where people know me inside and out." Learning From A Legend During the conversation, McIntyre also shared a classic story about receiving some cryptic but valuable advice from The Undertaker when he was a young superstar. He recalled asking for feedback after a match and being told something he didn't understand for years. "He was like, 'Stop playing the wrestler and be the wrestler,'" McIntyre recalled The Undertaker saying. "What the f--- does that mean?... It took so long to realize, 'Oh, he's saying, I'm trying too hard. I'm not present.'" More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
