Luka Doncic has heard all the chatter — the criticisms, the doubts, the memes. Now, the five-time NBA All-Star is answering back not with words, but with muscle. After years of enduring digs about his fitness, Doncic has undergone a dramatic physical transformation that has fans, teammates, and even critics taking notice.
'Just visually, I would say my whole body looks better,' he says. And he means it — inside and out.
Luka Doncic opens up about his shredded physique
It all started after what many called the most difficult year of Luka Doncic's career. A calf injury, a trade to the Lakers, and a rough playoff exit lit a fire under him. One day after the Lakers' first-round elimination, Doncic texted his manager to begin his offseason grind. 'This summer was just a little bit different, you know.
It kind of motivated me to be even better,' he explained.

A meticulous transformation followed. In a quiet town in Croatia, Doncic set up a private training facility. He flew in weights, worked through grueling two-a-days, and paired resistance band drills with Romanian deadlifts. As for his nutrition, it was a strict gluten-free, low-sugar plan with 250 grams of protein daily. That included two high-protein meals and one almond milk protein shake — all timed around his fasted workouts.

His goal was not to be the leanest man in the room — but the strongest, the most efficient, the most explosive. 'If I stop now,' Doncic said, 'it was all for nothing.'
Team Luka
and the Pursuit of Longevity
Doncic didn't do it alone. Behind the scenes, 'Team Luka' — a group of specialists including trainer Anže Maček, physio Javier Barrio, and nutritionist Lucia Almendros — crafted a program that elevated not just his looks, but his biomechanics. They emphasized eccentric force, deceleration, and body control.
'Not everything is jumping high,' Doncic pointed out. 'I think I'm very athletic in other stuff. Balancing, controlling my body, what I do when I stop, slowing down.'
He even took a full month off basketball to let his body reset, picking up pickleball and padel instead. When he finally returned to the court, it wasn't long before he noticed the change, in the mirror and on the hardwood.
Now 26, Doncic is setting the tone for the next phase of his career.
'This year, with my team, I think we did a huge step. But this is just the start, you know. I need to keep going. Can't stop.'
Now, it is clear that he's coming for a legacy in the NBA.

Bumrah released from squad: Will he play Asia Cup or next lot of Tests in India?

London/New Delhi: Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was on Friday released from the national squad after completing his quota of three Tests in the five-match series against England and stakeholders in Indian cricket have already started discussing his next international assignment. The 31-year-old Bumrah bowled 119.4 overs across three games and took 14 wickets. However at Manchester, Bumrah conceded more than 100 runs in a single innings for the first time in his career. Live Events Bumrah now has 219 wickets in 48 Tests. Prior to India's departure, chairman of selection committee Ajit Agarkar had confirmed that the pace ace won't play more than three Tests keeping his workload management in mind. Which format will Bumrah feature next? India's next international assignment is Asia Cup T20 tournament and it would be a surprise if Bumrah opts to play the tournament considering that the next Test series against West Indies will start in less than a week's time after the event in the UAE. The Asia Cup will conclude on September 29 and the first Test against the West Indies will start in Ahmedabad on October 2 followed by the second match in New Delhi from October 10-14 . Then in November there are two Tests against South Africa. "It will be a tricky call but Bumrah loves Test cricket and there are World Test Championship points at stake. As far as T20 is concerned, he can play the series against New Zealand in January, which will be a dress rehearsal for the T20 World Cup," a BCCI source abreast with Indian selection process told PTI on conditions of anonymity. "If Bumrah plays Asia Cup and suppose India plays the final, no way can he play against West Indies at Ahmedabad. Obviously the question arises, do you need Bumrah against West Indies or he plays Asia Cup after a month's break and plays the two Tests against South Africa. That call, Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir will have to take," the source added. Bumrah is not expected to play many ODIs till the T20 World Cup at home.

What did Cam Thomas say? Brooklyn Nets player seeks respect amid contract uncertainty

Cam Thomas was in Brooklyn Nets (Image via Getty Images) This off-season, Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has his first taste of free agency amidst his struggle to get the salary he wants. He has indicated that he would like to return to the Brooklyn Nets, and the team also appears ready to bring him back. Additionally, recently, he was frank about the issue, indicating that he doesn't feel that he should be classified as a lesser performer than guys like Tyler Herro, RJ Barrett, or Immanuel Quickley. Cam Thomas seeks big payday in free agency amid uncertain future with Brooklyn Nets Perhaps the worst time to be a restricted free agent in the NBA has been this summer. There is a certain set of players on the other side of free agency who have not yet signed contracts, even though the majority of unrestricted players are being signed or at least have suitors. Despite having strong seasons, Cam Thomas, Jonathan Kuminga , Josh Giddey, and Quentin Grimes are still available. At the age of 23, Cam Thomas has averaged 24 points per game. Despite missing most of the season due to injury, the Brooklyn Nets player improved as a scorer. After enjoying the best season of his career in 2024-25, he is a restricted free agent this offseason. However, it appears like all of the other prominent restricted free agents are having to slow-play their talks. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 15 Most Beautiful Female Athletes in the World Click Here Undo Given that he has yet to sign contracts despite having strong statistical seasons, many have started to question whether the NBA should do away with limited free agency. As Brian Lewis of the New York Post described the circumstances between Brooklyn Nets and Cam Thomas, he wrote: "Thomas has openly said he views himself as one of the best shooting guards in the league.' Cam Thomas is a remarkable player (Image via Getty Images) He then went on to discuss what the player might be searching for. There has been much debate over the last few years over its value in relation to the NBA. He further wrote: "A source familiar with Thomas' thinking said he does not consider himself inferior to Immanuel Quickley ($32.5 million this upcoming season), Tyler Herro ($31 million) or RJ Barrett ($27.7 million).' US Presidential Fitness Test: Who are the 30 athletes backing Trump's school fitness campaign?

Image credits: X On Thursday, the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, reestablished the Presidential Fitness Test for American children. The test, which was a fixture in public schools for decades, analysed the youth's health and athleticism through 1-mile runs, sit-ups and stretching exercises. 'This is a wonderful tradition, and we're bringing it back,' said the POTUS about the fitness test that was started in 1966 but was phased out during the Obama administration. 'President Trump wants every young American to have the opportunity to emphasize healthy, active lifestyles — creating a culture of strength and excellence for years to come,' White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CNN in a statement. Along with the test, the executive order signed by him also reinvigorated a national sports council that he stocked with current and former athletes and other prominent figures from the athletic world. Supporting him in his decision were athletes present at the event, who will also be formal members of the council: Bryson DeChambeau, golfer at LIV Golf League Harrison Butker, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Lawrence Taylor, Former New York Giants linebacker Cody Campbell, former college football player Paul Levesque, 14-time World Champion Annika Sorenstam, Swedish professional golfer Stephen Soloway, New Jersey physician Jack Nicklaus, retired golfer Gary Player, retired golfer Tony Romo, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles running back Wayne Gretzky, hockey legend Roger Goodell, commissioner of the National Football League Other members of the 30-member council are yet to be declared, and according to Trump, this council will also develop criteria for the Presidential Fitness Award. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Emergency Generators in Dire Dawa: (Prices May Surprise You) Emergency Generator | Search Ads Search Now Undo The fitness test was first introduced by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966, creating a school-based program that rewards "excellence in physical education". However, it was abandoned by former President Obama and replaced with an assessment called the FitnessGram that focused on improving individual health. The then-first lady Michelle Obama also promoted her "Let's Move" initiative that aimed at reducing childhood obesity through diet and exercise.
