Micah Parsons has stunned the
NFL
and Dallas Cowboys fans by officially requesting a trade. The star linebacker, who has earned four Pro Bowl selections in four seasons, thanked fans for their support but admitted his time in Dallas may be over.
Parsons revealed that he expected a long-term extension, but the front office went silent, which ended his desire to finish his career with the Cowboys.

unloads on Micah Parsons' trade drama
Veteran sports analyst and lifelong Cowboys fan Skip Bayless wasted no time reacting. In a 12-minute video posted on X, Bayless called the trade request 'overhyped' and questioned whether Parsons deserves the massive payday he's reportedly seeking.
'I'm not gonna say that because that's not the truth. I'm going to restate my opinion that Micah Parsons has been way overhyped,'
Bayless said.
Bayless reminded fans that Parsons' production dipped in the final stretch of the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He admitted he once compared Parsons to NFL legend Lawrence Taylor after his rookie year but said the last two seasons have shown he's not yet at that level.
What Micah Parsons' trade request means for Dallas Cowboys' future
The Cowboys now face a critical decision that could shape their Super Bowl hopes. Parsons has been the heart of Dallas' defense, and trading him would create a huge gap.
However, keeping him likely requires one of the richest contracts ever for a defensive player, which comes with risk if his late-season fade continues.
If the Cowboys explore a trade, several NFL teams are expected to show interest, and Dallas could receive a significant return in draft picks. Still, parting ways with a young pass rusher of Parsons' caliber would be a gamble.
Jerry Jones faces pressure as Micah Parsons trade story grows
Bayless' comments have fueled debate among fans. Some argue Dallas must keep its defensive star at all costs, while others believe the team could benefit from moving on before committing a record-breaking deal.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ben Duckett (Photo by) The tension is rising at The Oval as India push hard to level the Test series, and the heat of the contest has started spilling over on the field. On the morning of Day 4, Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught having a go at Ben Duckett , asking him why he had stopped playing his usual attacking shots. 'Come on, I want to see your shots. Play the sweep, reverse sweep. This is not your game,' Jaiswal reportedly said while fielding close in. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Duckett didn't hold back either and replied, 'Why should I listen to you?' Shubman Gill also joined in, making it clear that India were going to keep the pressure on through both their bowling and their words. Duckett had earlier played several reverse sweeps in the first innings, with some success before eventually getting out to Akash Deep while trying the same stroke. The mind games are only adding to the intensity as England chase 374 for victory. They ended Day 3 on 50 for 1 after Mohammed Siraj removed Zak Crawley with a brilliant yorker on the final ball of the day. Duckett remains unbeaten on 34* as Day 4 gets underway. Poll Do you think England can chase 374 runs? Yes, they can do it No, it's too challenging India's strong position was built on the back of another outstanding hundred from Jaiswal, who rode his luck to post 118, supported by fifties from Akash Deep, Jadeja and Sundar. The visitors made 396 in their second innings to leave England with a steep challenge and two full days to survive or chase. IND vs ENG 5th Test: 'Gautam Gambhir should get his bowlers and show ... ' - Ravi Shastri on how India can take advantage of conditions at The Oval

Ravi Shastri has pointed out what India can use to their advantage to win the series (Photo by) With Day 4 of the fifth Test underway at The Oval, India are pressing hard for a series-levelling victory against England. As the tension builds, former India head coach Ravi Shastri offered sharp insight into how Indian bowlers can exploit the pitch to maximum effect. Speaking to former Australia international Mel Jones ahead of the day's play, Shastri pointed out the key areas Indian bowlers should target. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. You know that's where you've got to be 80% of the time. The pitch will do the rest," said Shastri while inspecting the surface on Sky Sports Cricket. India need EIGHT wickets, England 324 runs: Who will come out on top at The Oval? Unlike the flat tracks seen earlier in the series, this one has a generous covering of grass. Shastri emphasised the difference in playing conditions, saying, "As opposed to Leeds, this has a lot more grass on the surface, so things will happen a lot quicker. England chased down the score at Leeds. If they come even closer, I think they've done twice the job of what they did in Leeds, because this is not easy." He underlined the difficulty of the task England face in chasing down a steep target, while maintaining it's not beyond reach. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Resmed AirSense 11 with flat 20% off ResMed Buy Now Undo "It will require—they'll have to bat out of their skins to pull off something special here. This will be twice the effort of what they put in. Not impossible. Not impossible. The first session becomes crucial, where they don't lose more than a wicket." England started steadily before Mohammad Siraj struck late in the morning session with a searing yorker that removed Zak Crawley right at the 50-run mark. With more than 300 still to get, India remain in the driver's seat. Mel Jones, who accompanied Shastri during the pitch inspection, also noted the surface's unpredictable nature. Poll Will India's bowlers successfully exploit the pitch conditions at The Oval? Yes, they have the skills No, the conditions are too challenging "We've been having a look at this pitch. It's definitely dented. Is that what's causing that extra bounce, do you think? Hugely so... What we've seen though is when it has hit those dents, it's kicked," she observed. With the surface deteriorating and pressure mounting, Shastri's tactical pointers may prove pivotal in India's final push.
