: Significance
Navratri is regarded as the most sacred when you can worship Maa Durga day and night.
During the period of Navratri, Maa Durga is worshipped for nine days and nine nights. Devotees pray to Durga Mata and seek for the Goddess' blessings during these days. Gupt Navratri falls twice a year during Magha and Ashadha Month, but Navratri happens four times a year. Nine manifestations of Mahavidhya are worshipped during Gupt Navratri.
Although Gupt Navratri is not very well-known, it is the most potent time of year for those individuals, who want and practice Mantra and Tantra Sadhana and this time period is considered as an extremely powerful period to invoke Goddess Durga.

Wake up early in the morning and clean your home especially your puja room. Take bath after cleaning is done, then take a wooden plank and place an idol of Goddess Durga there. Adorn the Goddess with shringar items such as chunni, sindoor, bangles, haldi, mehendi etc.
Take a kalash, fill it with water and place a coconut on that and do Ghatsthapna by chanting various vedic mantras. Light a diya with desi cow ghee, light incense sticks, offer hibiscus flower garland, fruits and sweets.
Devotees must recite Durga Saptashati Paath to appease Maa Durga and if they are unable to do so then they must recite Kavach Argala Keelak for protection and chant different mantras dedicated to the Goddess 108 times. In the evening, devotees can break their fast after performing aarti to Maa Durga.

Assam pays tribute to Kargil War heroes
Guwahati: Along with the rest of the country, Kargil Vijay Diwas was commemorated across Assam to mark the anniversary of India's historic victory in the Kargil War of 1999 on Saturday. The day honours the success of Operation Vijay, through which the Indian Armed Forces recaptured strategic high-altitude outposts that were illegally occupied by Pakistani intruders. The war officially concluded on July 26, 1999, and India was victorious in evicting the infiltrators and restoring the sanctity of the Line of Control. To honour the unwavering courage and supreme sacrifice of the bravehearts of the Kargil War, a solemn wreath-laying and commemorative ceremony was organised by the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam, at the State War Memorial at Dighalipukhuri. The ceremony was graced by governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya. A respectful "Present Arms" was offered to the Amar Jawan, followed by the laying of wreaths in memory of the fallen heroes. Mumbai: Train operations on Central Railway (CR) could be affected this week as motormen threaten to work only "One Detail" a day in protest against the administration's decision to make signal call-outs mandatory. "One Detail" refers to completing a single scheduled shift of trips. Currently, due to staff shortages, several motormen voluntarily take up additional duties—called "Second Detail "—especially during peak hours to ensure services run on time. Motormen are objecting to the insistence on calling out every signal aspect—green, yellow, or red—which is being recorded through the Crew Voice and Video Recording System (CVVRS) installed inside the motor cab. GVCF urges swift action on Visakhapatnam air pollution
Visakhapatnam: Days after TOI reported a 29% surge in PM10 pollution levels in Visakhapatnam since 2017, the Greater Visakhapatnam Citizens' Forum (GVCF) expressed deep concern over the worsening air quality crisis. In an official statement citing the TOI report, GVCF president Sohan Hatangadi said that the rise in pollution has made Vizag the second-worst performer among 130 cities under the national clean air programme (NCAP). "This deterioration is a direct result of administrative inaction and a shocking lack of political will. Despite an allocation of Rs 129.4 crore under NCAP, only Rs 39.6 crore has been utilised, demonstrating gross negligence. Meanwhile, unchecked industrial emissions, port dust, and construction pollution continue to choke our city. "While neighbouring cities such as Vijayawada and Rajahmundry have successfully reduced pollution by over 20%, Visakhapatnam continues to fail its citizens. Our right to clean air is being violated, and the health of our children and families is at stake.
