Oleksandr Usyk responds to Jake Paul fight demand after face-off

Jake Paul came face-to-face with Oleksandr Usyk after the Ukrainian's brutal knockout win over Daniel Dubois - with the Problem Child instantly calling for an MMA fight
Oleksandr Usyk is ready to fight Jake Paul in the cage after the pair's impromptu face-off on Saturday night.

Usyk had barely caught breath after knocking out Daniel Dubois for a second time, this time in front of over 90,000 fans at Wembley, to become the undisputed heavyweight champion for a second time. Paul, who had been ringside, made his way into the squared circle to confront Usyk.

The moment was captured on video and shared by Paul on X - the platform formerly known as Twitter - with the caption: "Congrats to one of the greatest heavyweights of all time @usykaa on a huge win. I respect you a lot. Now we do an MMA match for the world @MostVpromotions."

Asked about a potential fight later on, Usyk didn't hesitate to weigh in on the confrontation with the YouTuber-turned-boxer. " Jake Paul came to the ring for a face-off. I'm ready to fight with Jake Paul in MMA rules. I'm ready but I need to rest," he declared.
While the encounter may have been in good spirits, boxing enthusiasts swiftly voiced their displeasure in the comments section. One fan expressed disdain, saying, "Letting him in the same ring as Usyk is an insult," Another added, "It should never be sanctioned, Usyk will murder the YouTuber!" A third chimed in, "Please don't disrespect us and Usyk like this," while yet another stated, "This is absolutely ridiculous. Get Jake Paul out of there." And a fifth comment read, "Embarrassing shouldn't even be allowed in the same ring as Usyk."
Paul, who inked a deal with the PFL two years ago, is still waiting to step into the MMA arena for his first bout. In a surprising move last May, the American shook up the boxing scene by challenging Usyk to an MMA showdown.
"Yeah, I want to be like Holly (Holm) here and test my skills in the cage," The Problem Child remarked, alluding to the renowned boxer-turned-MMA fighter. "That's something I'm super, super interested in, and I think it would be a very, very big spectacle. Nate Diaz is still ducking, but we would need to find the right opponent. [Oleksandr] Usyk, maybe."
Nakisa Bidarian, Paul's business associate, then chimed in on the matter, fuelling speculation about a potential blockbuster clash between the two. "Usyk has called out Jake multiple times in MMA," he noted. "They've been in touch with us behind the scenes saying they want to do that fight in 2026. So it's something that we definitely want to pursue."

Inside Elon Musk's Tesla diner of the future staffed by ROBOTS with drive-in movie screens & burgers in Cybertruck boxes

ELON Musk's Tesla is opening a one-of-a-kind high tech diner where customers can order food from their car touchscreens and will be served by robots. Musk took to X earlier last week to praise the venue, saying: "I just had dinner at the retro-futuristic @Tesla diner and Supercharger. "Team did great work making it one of the coolest spots in LA!" The Tesla boss had previously hinted at building the diner back in 2018. While it still bears many of the hallmarks of a classic American diner, the Tesla venue has a typically futuristic theme. A humanoid robot called Optimus can be found inside, who is programmed to serve popcorn to guests. The robot was designed by Tesla. Visitors don't even need to get out of their cars to place an order, which can be done through their vehicle touchscreen. Their food will be served in Tesla Cybertruck-shaped boxes. Typical diner refreshments such as burgers, hot dogs, wings and milkshakes are all sold at the venue. The audio for the movies will be directly streamed into visitors' cars. Tesla fans on Musk's X shared their reactions to the new venue. One user called The Tesla Duck said: "Tesla should open a lot more of these diners, I am not local to the one that opens tomorrow but the food looks pretty good and I think it's an awesome attraction. "I'd imagine they could be pretty profitable. What other car comes with restaurant access?" Another commenter said: "Tesla hosted LA's First Responders at their Tesla Diner in LA for their soft launch today, and man does this place looks amazing! "They gave out official Tesla Diner merch, including Optimus Diner figures. "They had their entire fleet on display including Cybercab, and an Optimus robot that was serving popcorn." It's not the only time the controversial billionaire's companies have made headlines in recent weeks. Musk's AI chatbot Grok went rogue earlier this month and started spouting pro-Hitler and antisemitic comments on X. The material surfaced on the platform after an update telling it to be more "politically incorrect". The chatbot even appeared to dub itself: "MechaHitler". A spokesperson for xAI, the company behind Grok, said: "We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts. "Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X." 5 Tesla fans on Musk's X shared their reactions to the new venue Credit: AFP

The Open: How long Scottie Scheffler can keep Claret Jug after being caught off guard

Scottie Scheffler won The Open at Royal Portrush to claim the fourth major title of his career, and aspects of the Claret Jug took him by surprise Scottie Scheffler has etched his name into golfing history by claiming the coveted Claret Jug at The Open. The American won the historic major for the first time at Royal Portrush on Sunday. ‌ Scheffler, who finished T7 at last year's tournament, soared to victory at Portrush with a three-under-par round on Sunday. The 29-year-old finished on 17-under at The Open, four shots ahead of runner-up Harris English. ‌ Scheffler, who is already a two-time Masters winner and clinched the PGA Championship in May, is no stranger to picking up trophies. However, the Claret Jug seemed to fascinate Scheffler shortly after his victory. ‌ In a video by The R&A, the champion golfer remarked on the trophy's unexpected weight. He turned to a person carrying the Claret Jug and said: "It's light, isn't it?" The footage tracked Scheffler's journey after his Open triumph, from heartfelt celebrations to expressing gratitude to staff and engaging with the press. Upon closer examination of his newly acquired trophy, Scheffler spotted an intriguing detail. Having inspected the trophy's past engravings, Scheffler shared: "The first thing I noticed was this, '2020: No championship owing to global pandemic.'" The Open has awarded Scheffler a replica of the iconic Claret Jug, which he must return to The R&A next year. The tradition of players keeping the same replica trophy for 12 months began in 1928. For the coming year, Scheffler has the privilege of showcasing the trophy and taking it to events, but the new Open champion must hand back the silverware before next year's tournament. ‌ The original Claret Jug is on permanent display at The R&A. Alongside the Claret Jug, Open champions are also presented with a gold champion's medal, which Scheffler will retain. The Claret Jug has been awarded since 1873. It was commissioned in the previous year, and although Thomas Morris' name was the first to be engraved on it, Tom Kidd was the inaugural champion to lift the trophy when he triumphed 152 years ago. Scheffler's recent string of successes has led some to compare him with Tiger Woods, who has won The Open on three occasions. Yet, Scheffler dismissed such comparisons as premature during his post-championship press conference. "I still think they're a bit silly," Scheffler admitted. "Tiger won, what, 15 majors? This is my fourth. I just got one-fourth of the way there. I think Tiger stands alone in the game of golf. "He was inspirational for me growing up. He was a very, very talented guy, and he was a special person to be able to be as good as he was at the game of golf. I don't focus on that kind of stuff."

New footage emerges proving Daniel Dubois DID NOT quit in Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Dubois was stopped in the fifth round of his rematch with Usyk at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, with fans accusing the Brit of quitting in the fight Video has surfaced of Daniel Dubois ' corner throwing in the towel before the referee called off the Brit's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. ‌ The heavyweight stars clashed at Wembley on Saturday night in front of over 90,000 fans. Usyk dominated most of the bout with his sharp jabs and swift movement. Dubois had his moments - notably in the fourth round - as he sought to level the series. ‌ However, the Ukrainian put an end to the rivalry in the fifth round when he knocked 'Triple D' down with a counter right. Dubois managed to beat the count before being sent tumbling to the canvas again with a savage left hand just seconds later - prompting the referee to call off the fight. ‌ Over the years, the 27-year-old has faced accusations of quitting fights, and these claims resurfaced on Saturday night. However, these allegations were swiftly dismissed after video appeared online showing the Brit's team throwing in the towel moments before the referee ended the scrap, reports All Out Fighting. All things considered, it was a rather grim night for Dubois - from start to finish. The Brit caused concern among boxing fans when he arrived at Wembley just 90 minutes before his rematch with the Ukrainian. 'Triple D' was spotted arriving at the stadium shortly after 8:15pm UK time - leaving him barely any time to properly settle in before having to make his way to the ring. It has since come to light that a pre-fight party at the Dubois household and a travel mishap were to blame. The Brit's father Stan is thought to have hosted a gathering at his Essex home on the afternoon of the fight. It's been reported that the young British heavyweight didn't even know all of the guests and left halfway through for a quick drive. Little did Dubois know, he was cutting it close to make it to Wembley on time. Their departure would only cause more problems after Dubois' father requested an extra carrier to transport his group to the venue. There were further delays after Stan drove himself and his son to the venue. To their annoyance, only designated vehicles had been granted entry into Wembley Stadium - which shockingly meant that both Dubois and his dad had to walk to the stadium entrance from the car park. The drama didn't stop there, though. When they finally arrived, a large portion of Dubois' group were denied entry. Stan allegedly then told security that his son wouldn't continue without them. ‌ When is Daniel Dubois' next fight? Whether the constant delays on the day of the fight affected Dubois' performance remains to be seen. As for what's next for the young Brit, his promoter Frank Warren has advised 'Triple D' to take six months off and learn from Usyk's mental resilience if he wants to make it back to the top. Warren stated: "You've got to learn from defeats, I mean that's what life's about, isn't it? You know, not everything goes your way, you got to come back, it's the mark of a man if he can do it, and we'll see if he could do it. "He's got to resurrect himself. That's what we've had to do. That's the story. Usyk a quality, quality fighter, he has a great boxing IQ, and he's got the most unbelievable mental attitude. That's what makes him. That's what Daniel's got to learn from. Try and get and develop the mental attitude that Usyk has."
