Jeffrey Lurie wants to host a Super Bowl, and that dream could hinge on the ability to add a weatherized roof to Lincoln Financial Field, or potentially build a new dome venue at some point.
Looking for feedback from fans about a handful of different scenarios, Philadelphia's owner and chairman sent out surveys to ticket holders.
"...To help guide this vision, we're exploring potential updates to Lincoln Financial Field — including both renovation options and the possibility of a brand new stadium in the region."
The survey the Eagles sent to their fans about a potential new stadium included a question on what kind of stadium they would prefer: Open Air, Canopy (Bills' new stadium), Open Air Covered (SoFi Stadium), or a Dome.
According to Zach Berman, the lease at Lincoln Financial Field runs through 2032 — eight more seasons, meaning a major renovation is more likely.

Phillies slugger Bryce Harper ejected following outburst over called third strike

PHILADELPHIA — Phillies slugger Bryce Harper was ejected in the seventh inning of Friday's game against Detroit for arguing a called third strike on a check swing. The Phillies scored three runs in the seventh to tie the game 3-all and had two runners on base with two outs when Harper faced Tigers reliever Will Vest. Harper tried to check his swing on a full-count changeup from Vest, but third base umpire Vic Carapazza rang up the Harper, who ripped his helmet off his head in a outburst and shouted as he waved his arms at Carapazza. Harper was promptly tossed and kept his helmet with him as he walked into the dugout. 'I left the batter's box walking toward him, so I think it was warranted,' Harper said. Harper said after the Phillies beat the Tigers 5-4 that he had yet to see the replay, which seemed to indicate he went around with his swing. 'Can't get thrown out in that situation, especially with the ninth inning possibly coming around and my at-bat coming up,' Harper said.

Bill Belichick gives his take on Mike Shanahan's Hall of Fame candidacy

Mike Shanahan's bid for enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame has been delayed by a convoluted voting process, and he's been left on the outside looking in as other coaches have beaten him to Canton in recent years. Shanahan, who won a pair of Super Bowls during his time with the Denver Broncos, recently drew support from one of his old rivals: six-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick, who now coaches UNC's football team. "I think he should [get in]. I mean, two Super Bowl championships and he -- Mike did a great job -- he and Alex Gibbs really developed that zone running game that almost every team in football runs today," Belichick told Jeff Hauser of Athlon Sports last week (via Nick Ferguson). "It's not just the wins and losses, but I would [also] say his contributions to the game [make him deserving]. "Obviously, his son, Kyle, is a great coach in his family. I thought Mike was tremendous. We always had a hard time with defending Mike and, again, I became a better coach having worked against Mike and Mike's teams." Belichick taking a job in college football could delay Shanahan's chances of getting into the Hall of Fame because Belichick is now two years removed from coaching in the NFL and eligible for the 2026 class. Belichick feels like a slam-dunk choice in his first year of eligibility, kicking Shanahan's potential enshrinement further down the road. With support from all-time greats like Belichick, though, Shanahan should get in -- eventually. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X!
