Amir, UAE president discuss ways to promote ties, regional developments

His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HH President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a meeting on Wednesday, where they discussed the solid fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to support them across various fields. They also discussed the regional developments and the efforts madeto achieve peace and stability that will lead to growth and prosperity for their peoples.
At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed HH the President of the UAE and his accompanying delegation, expressing his pleasure with this visit, which reflects the depth of relations between the two fraternal countries.
For his part, HH the President of the UAE reiterated his country's solidarity with Qatar and its support for it following the attack that targeted its territory. His Highness affirmed the UAE's support for all measures that Qatar may take to preserve its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its people.
HH the President of the UAE also commended the efforts made by HH the Amir in facilitating the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.
In this regard, HH the Amir voiced his deep appreciation to HH the President of the UAE for his solidarity and sincere feelings, as well as his country's stance towards the State of Qatar and its people following the recent Iranian military attack.
HH the Amir and HH the President of the UAE exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest, particularly the current situation in the Middle East following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel.
In this regard, the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening dialogue and diplomatic solutions as the only means to overcome regional crises and maintain regional and global security.
The meeting was attended by HH Personal Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and a number of senior officials.
On the UAE's side, the meeting was attended by HH Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HH Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Advisor to the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, HE Secretary-General of Supreme Council for National Security Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, HE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Omar Sultan Al Olama, HE Adviser to the President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, and a number of members of the accompanying delegation.

Qatar participates in signing ceremony of peace agreement between Rwanda, DRC in Washington
WASHINGTON: The State of Qatar has participated in the signing ceremony of the Peace Agreement between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, which took place in Washington. The peace deal was facilitated by the United States of America. Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi represented the State of Qatar at the signing ceremony. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on this occasion, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's welcome of the conclusion of this agreement, as well as its commendation of the sincere will and genuine commitment demonstrated by both parties to the approach of peaceful and diplomatic solutions. He also expressed Qatar's pride in contributing positively to facilitating the achievement of this agreement through hosting several negotiation sessions between the two parties, as a result of Doha's hosting of the trilateral meeting between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Republic of Rwanda HE Paul Kagame and President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo HE Felix Tshisekedi on March 18, which constituted a significant milestone for direct dialogue and confidence-building between the two sides. He commended the constructive role played by the United States of America in completing these efforts and reaching this significant Agreement, which is expected to enhance security and stability in the Great Lakes region. The Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that these efforts are in support of the African Union's mediation and the outcomes of the Joint Summit of the East African Community and the Southern African Development Community, which was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on February 8. In this regard, he expressed the State of Qatar's full readiness to collaborate with all regional and international partners to achieve lasting peace that benefits the peoples of the region.
