Jessica Chastain, Adam Driver to Star in Apple Series "The Dealer"

Yara Sameh
Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver are set to star in the series 'The Dealer' at Apple TV+.
The project has been given a straight-to-series order in a competitive situation.
It is described as 'a biting exploration of power, class, and culture set inside the glittering world of the high-end art market, told through the eyes of an aspiring super gallerist, played by Chastain, and the tangled relationship with her most gifted and unnerving artist, played by Driver.'
Lucas Hnath is the writer behind the series and serves as executive producer.
Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer will executive produce for Media Res, while Chastain and Kelly Carmichael will executive produce for Freckle Films.
Driver and Alan Poul also executive produce along with Sam Gold and Sarah Lunnie. Arianna Anderson will serve as co-executive producer. Gold is also directing.
The series is produced by Media Res, which also produces the Apple shows 'The Morning Show,' 'Pachinko,' and 'Extrapolations.'
This marks just the second regular television role of Driver's career. He previously broke out with his role in the critically-acclaimed HBO series 'Girls,' in which he starred throughout the show's six season run.
Driver is primarily known for his film roles, having earned two Oscar nominations to date — one for 'Marriage Story' and another for 'BlacKkKlansman.'
He is also known for his role as Kylo Ren in the new 'Star Wars' trilogy and has starred in other films like 'Megalopolis,' 'House of Gucci,' 'The Last Duel,' 'Silence,' and 'The Report.'
'The Dealer' also marks Chastain's second series with Apple. She is also leading the upcoming limited series 'The Savant,' which was filmed in 2024 and is currently awaiting a release date.
Chastain also starred in the limited series 'George and Tammy' opposite Michael Shannon, in which they played George Jones and Tammy Wynette. She won the Academy Award for best actress for her work in 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye' in 2022.
She has been nominated two other times — for 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'The Help.' Her other notable film roles include starring in 'The Good Nurse,' 'Armageddon Time,' 'Molly's Game,' 'Interstellar,' and 'A Most Violent Year.'

Michael Douglas Quits Acting at 80

Yara Sameh Michael Douglas, who is at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival to present a newly restored print of Miloš Forman's classic 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,' — which he won an Oscar for as a producer on the 1970 classic — opened up about his future plans as an actor. The 80-year-old revealed that while he's not officially retired from acting, he has 'no real intentions' of returning to the big screen. 'I have not worked since 2022 purposefully because I realized I had to stop,' Douglas said. 'I had been working pretty hard for almost 60 years, and I did not want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set. I have no real intentions of going back. I say I'm not retired because if something special came up, I'd go back, but otherwise, no.' Douglas last appeared on the big screen in 2023's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and starred in 2024's "Franklin", an Apple TV+ biographical series about Ben Franklin. The projects finished filming three years ago, and Douglas hasn't worked in front of the camera since. The actor did hint at 'one little independent movie' that he is 'trying to get a good script out of,' but besides that project, he has no other plans to return to films, and is 'happy to play the wife' to Catherine Zeta-Jones. 'I am happy for Catherine to go to work – and she is very busy,' he said. The topic of Douglas' future came up after he discussed his battle with tongue cancer, pointing out his course of action allowed him another decade of roles. 'Stage 4 cancer is not a holiday, but there aren't many choices, are there? I went with the program, involving chemo and radiation, and was fortunate,' he noted, adding that his friend and actor Larry Hagman died from a similar diagnosis. 'The surgery would have meant not being able to talk and removing part of my jaw, and that would have been limiting as an actor.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Ahmed Gamal Said, Jana Ashkar Will Not Return for "Watar Hassas" Season 2

Yara Sameh Season 2 of the TV series 'Watar Hassas", which launches filming in mid-July and airs during the off-season, will witness the absence of many familiar faces from season one for various reasons. Jana Ashkar, who played the role of Laila, will also not be a part of the second 2 due to her character's death on the show. Ahmed Gamal Said, who played the role of Laila's husband Mazen, won't also make an appearance in the drama due to his character's imprisonment on charges of killing his wife. As previously reported, Jordanian actress/producer Saba Mubarak will not return for 'Watar Hassas" season 2. Mubarak parted ways with the drama due to being busy with other projects. Season 1 of the series debuted on October 27 and tackled the issue of marital infidelity and the secrets of the human psyche through three women (a doctor, a lawyer, and an employee), as the pace of events escalates due to the disputes between the lawyer and her interior designer husband, especially after she accuses him of infidelity, with the relationships between all parties becoming intertwined. The series also starred Injy El Mokkaddem, Heidy Karam, Mohamed Alaa, Mohamed El Amroussi, Hager Afify, Mohamed Aly Rezk, Ahmed Tarek Nour, and more. "Watar Hassas" consists of 45 episodes and was produced by ‎United Media Services‎. It was written by scriptwriter Amin Gamal and directed by Wael Farag. Season 2 of "Watar Hassas" takes place after the events of the first season. Ghada Adel has been tapped to replace Mubarak as the lead. The creators of "Watar Hassas" will also add new elements to the plot to keep up with the events. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"

Israel Launches New Phase of Military Operations in Gaza

H-Tayea The Israel Broadcasting Corporation has announced that the Israeli military has initiated a new phase of its operations in the Gaza Strip, according to breaking news aired by Al Qahera News Channel. While specific details of the expanded military actions remain undisclosed, the announcement signals an intensification of operations after a period of relative calm following a fragile ceasefire. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been conducting sustained operations in Gaza since October 2023, in response to the ongoing conflict with Palestinian factions. Previous phases have included ground incursions, aerial bombardments, and targeted operations against alleged militant infrastructure. This escalation comes amid ongoing regional and international diplomatic efforts to stabilize the situation and reach a lasting ceasefire. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"
