Big Cooper Flagg Announcement Made Ahead of 2025 NBA Draft
Cooper Flagg was a one-and-done with the Duke Blue Devils, as he was expected to be. After living up to the hype during his one season with the program, Flagg has entered the 2025 NBA draft and is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick barring a massive surprise. Regardless of which team wins the No. 1 pick in the lottery, Flagg would be the likely pick. He has the potential to be a star right off the bat at the next level. Advertisement Throughout his one season at Duke, Flagg played in 37 games. He averaged 19.2 points per game to go along with 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.4 steals, while also shooting 48.1% from the floor and 38.5% from the 3-point line. Prior to the draft, some big news has been announced about Flagg. This news shows great character from the rising star. As shared by Bangor Daily News, Flagg and his family have approved an official draft party that will be held at a sports bar in Falmouth, Maine. He will be sending all proceeds from the party to the Ronald McDonald House. Kelly Flagg, Cooper's mom, spoke out about the decision. Advertisement 'We're feeling very fortunate to be in this position where we can give back,' Kelly Flagg told the News & Observer. 'When we think about what we want to do, this is a great partnership for us to be able to give back to. Something like this that we personally have benefited from.' Duke Blue Devils forward Cooper Flagg (2)Bob Donnan-Imagn Images How does the Ronald McDonald House have a personal meaning for the Flagg family? Matt Junker of the Bangor Daily News shared that story as well. "Kelly gave birth to sons Hunter and Ryder in August of 2004 at 24 weeks and the twin boys had dangerously low birth weights," he wrote. "Ryder Flagg died two days later, and Hunter spent more than 100 days in the hospital in Portland — when the Ronald McDonald House became a home away from home for the family from Newport. And it became so again, for a much shorter stay, when Cooper and his twin brother Ace were born prematurely in December of 2006 and healthy enough to go home after a few days." While Flagg is set to become an NBA star, his focus on continuing to give back to an extremely good cause is a heartwarming thing to see. Related: Duke Reacts to Big Kon Knueppel News on Tuesday
