Caravan explodes at Moray car park as man rushed to hospital
A man has been rushed to hospital after a caravan exploded at a car park in Moray.
Emergency services raced to Church Street in Lossiemouth at around 7.30am on Monday morning after reports of the blast.
Police, ambulances and fire engines attended the vehicle fire which is understood to have been caused by a gas explosion and a 60-year-old casualty was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Images from the scene show the white motorhome with a door that appears to have blown off nearby inside a police cordon while a gas canister lays nearby.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: 'We were called to a report of a possible gas explosion within a motorhome in a car park in the Church Street area of Lossiemouth around 7.30am on Monday.
'A 59-year-old man was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin and later transferred by road to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
'There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and there is no risk to the wider public.'

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson also said: 'We were alerted at 7.30am on Monday, July 14 to reports of an explosion within a campervan in a car park near Church Street, Lossiemouth.
'Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters assisted emergency service partners. One casualty was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
'Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.'
A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson added: 'We received a call at 7.26am today to attend an incident on Gregory Place in Lossiemouth.
'We dispatched one ambulance and our trauma team to the scene. We transported one male patient to Dr Gray's Hospital.'

At one point he moved the conversation to WhatsApp and sent another picture of his penis to one girl "so you know it's me from this." The grooming of the girls lasted for several months until the vigilante group tracked his home address and turned up on June 10 last year to confront him. "They attended to challenge the accused," Mrs Bairner said. "It was on a Facebook livestream on the Child Protection Team UK. He admitted he was sexually attracted to children." Asked how many he had communicated with, he replied: "It must be in double figures. I'm sorry I did this. I don't go looking for children. I've not molested any children." Cain blamed Tracy, and this seemed to have been confirmed when Nate's phone was found at Tracy's house, having been used during Nate's absence when Cain thought he was ringing his son. John had had the phone all along and planted it at Tracy's. Three arrested as dad 'stabbed to death' in front of screaming partner
Tragic dad-of-two Blue Stevens was stabbed to death in Knightsbridge as he reportedly tried to fight off a knife-wielding mugger who was after his gold Rolex. Three men have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death just yards from a plush London hotel. Blue Stevens was found fatally injured on Seville Street, in Knightsbridge, shortly after 9.20pm on Wednesday, July 9. Police arrested two people at a property in Hounslow, in west London, on Saturday, reports the Mirror. One man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and remains in police custody. Following the arrests, Met Police officers secured a warrant to search two properties in Chiswick and say "significant evidence" was recovered. A third man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of assisting an offender. He is currently being held in custody. Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah, who leads policing in Central West London, said: 'These arrests mark a significant milestone in this complex and unfolding murder investigation. 'We continue to progress at pace. While we retain an open mind around motive, one line of enquiry is now that this may have been a targeted attack. Emergency services, including Met Police officers and paramedics, raced to Seville Street at around 9.24pm on Wednesday, July 9.
