Usha Vance recalls meeting with Modi, says children put him in ‘grandfather category'
Stating that the children loved PM Modi, she said that her kids were sleep deprived, and when "they saw an Indian man with a white beard and white hair, they just put him in the grandfather category immediately.'
Vance also termed her visit to India as a 'trip of lifetime,' and added that it was her children's first visit to India. She said that her kids met PM Modi in Paris and hugged him. Also PM cemented his status by giving her five year old son a birthday present. Talking about the Prime Minister, she said that he was 'very kind and generous' to the kids and that the talks between him and Vice President JD Vance were very 'productive'.
Vance also noted that though her children grew up knowing so much about India's food, relationship with grandparents and friends, they never had the chance to see it. So it was 'just mind blowing from their perspective,' she added.
Further, when they were at the Prime Minister's residence, her son Ewan was just taken by the entire cart of mangoes that was available for him to eat, and he announced to the Prime Minister that he thought he could maybe live there and started making his plans. Vance shared that her eldest son, Ewan, was particularly captivated by the temple sculptures, while her middle child, Vivek, was thrilled to see elephants, camels, and peacocks. Her daughter's favourite moment was a ride in an auto-rickshaw.
During the visit, the children had several playful moments with PM, from exploring the lawns to seeing bird feeders at PM's residence. PM Modi also presented the three children with peacock feathers.

Cambodian authorities have not released their own casualty figures, but shelling has been reported in the town of Samraong, just 20 kilometres from the border. 'We are scared because they began shooting again at about 6:00 am,' a local man told AFP, as his family fled to a nearby Buddhist temple. Despite calls for calm from ASEAN Chair and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, hostilities resumed early Friday. The Thai army accused Cambodian forces of launching attacks with BM-21 rocket systems, prompting retaliatory strikes. The fighting stems from a decades-long border dispute, with the current flare-up beginning in May after a Cambodian soldier was killed. Diplomatic tensions worsened Thursday after Thailand expelled Cambodia's ambassador and Phnom Penh responded by downgrading ties. The UN Security Council is expected to meet urgently, as international powers including the US, France, the EU, and China call for a ceasefire.

"I think we understand each other well": UK PM Starmer, PM Modi share light moment at joint presser
ANI "I think we understand each other well": UK PM Starmer, PM Modi share light moment at joint presser Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Keir Starmer shared a light moment during their joint press statement on Thursday, as the two leaders addressed the media following their talks in translations were being provided for questions and answers during the interaction, Prime Minister Modi, in a candid remark, said, "Don't bother, we can use English words in between. Don't worry about it."UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer responded with a smile, saying, "I think we understand each other well."The friendly exchange set the tone for the rest of the interaction, where Prime Minister Modi used a cricket analogy to describe the India-UK partnership. He said, "There may be a swing and a miss at times but we always play with a straight bat," adding that both countries are committed to building a high-scoring, solid partnership. PM Modi's remarks, made during joint press statements with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, came as India and the UK signed the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and the two leaders endorsed India-UK Vision 2035. The Indian Test cricket team is on a visit to England, and the series is seeing an intense struggle between bat and ball."I would be remiss not to mention cricket when India and the UK are coming together, especially during a Test series. For both of us cricket is not just a game but a passion. And also, a great metaphor for our partnership," PM Modi said."There may be a swing and a miss at times. But we always play with a straight bat. We are committed to building a high scoring solid partnership. The agreements concluded today, along with our Vision 2035, are milestones that carry forward this very spirit," he Modi, who was on a two-day visit to the UK, said that day marks a historic milestone in India-UK bilateral relations."I am pleased that, after years of dedicated efforts, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between our two countries has been concluded today. This agreement is more than just an economic partnership; it is also a blueprint for shared prosperity. On the one hand, it paves the way for enhanced market access in the UK for Indian textiles, footwear, gems and jewellery, seafood, and engineering goods," he said."It will also unlock new opportunities for India's agricultural produce and processed food industry. Above all, this agreement will be especially beneficial for India's youth, farmers, fishermen, and the MSME sector. On the other hand, UK-made products such as medical devices and aerospace components will become more accessible and affordable for Indian consumers and industries," he Modi said that alongside the trade agreement, a consensus has also been reached on the Double Contribution Convention."This will inject new momentum into the service sectors of both countries, particularly in technology and finance. It will enhance the ease of doing business, reduce operational costs, and boost confidence of doing business. Additionally, the UK economy will benefit from access to skilled Indian talent," he said."These agreements will boost bilateral investment and generate new employment opportunities in both countries. Moreover, these agreements between two vibrant democracies and major global economies, will also contribute to strengthening global stability and shared prosperity," he added.

‘We Won't Tolerate More Violence': KP CM Blasts ISI For Aiding Militants, Destabilising Province
Last Updated: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur alleged that ISI and MI 'own' the militants operating in the region and are responsible for the escalating terror threat In a scathing indictment of Pakistan's powerful military establishment, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has accused the country's top intelligence agencies, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI), of fostering militancy and fuelling violence in the province. Addressing an All Parties Conference in Peshawar, CM Gandapur said the ISI and MI are planting and protecting militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He alleged that the agencies effectively 'own" the militants operating in the region and are directly responsible for the escalating terror threat. The chief minister emphasised that his government has cleared all areas of militants and conducted multiple operations against them. However, he said the efforts of the provincial police and administration are being actively undermined by the intelligence agencies, who continue to shield extremists under the guise of supporting so-called 'Good Taliban". Rejecting this distinction outright, Gandapur declared that the province does not want the 'Good Taliban" being protected by the ISI and MI. 'We don't want your Good Taliban in the province," he said. He issued a strong warning, saying the people of KP will not tolerate further violence. If the agencies wished to continue playing 'dirty games," he said, they might as well officially recruit the militants and give them uniforms. According to the chief minister, the worsening security situation in the province cannot be brought under control because of the influence and interference of ISI and MI. He further revealed that whenever KP Police arrest militants, individuals from ISI arrive to secure their release. Indian Intelligence Sources: 'Old Story Of ISI' Top Indian intelligence sources told CNN-News18 that these developments reflect a familiar pattern. According to them, the ISI has long opposed stability in areas governed by Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They believe the agency is deliberately turning these regions into terror hubs to weaken the PTI's leadership and governance. The broader goal, they say, is to portray CM Gandapur as a failed administrator and pressure him into resignation. The sources also commented on the deteriorating condition of Imran Khan, adding that his sister has already announced plans to approach the International Court of Justice. She has also described the prevailing system in Pakistan as being under 'Asim Law," a reference to Army Chief General Asim Munir's growing dominance in the country's political landscape. These revelations lay bare the deepening cracks between Pakistan's civilian government and its military-intelligence establishment, even as the country continues to grapple with political instability and rising militant violence.
