Association of PGI resident docs mark day dedicated to them with wellness session
Prof Vivek Lal, director, PGI, was the chief guest. Senior faculty members and consultants were also present in large numbers to support and join the celebrations.
The evening began with a financial wellness session, addressing the often-overlooked but essential aspect of doctors' lives — financial planning and security. This was followed by a cultural evening where residents showcased their diverse talents through music, dance, and drama.
A symbolic cake-cutting ceremony marked the spirit of unity, dedication, and resilience of doctors at PGI. Renowned comedian Pritish Narula had the audience in splits with his stand-up comedy performance, adding humour to the evening. The celebration concluded on a high note with a DJ night and dinner, where residents, faculty, and guests danced and dined together.
"Vitana 1.0" truly embodied the spirit of gratitude, wellness, and togetherness — a perfect ode to the doctors who continue to serve humanity with unmatched dedication.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vishnu Jinja, president of the Association of Resident Doctors, said: "Vitana 1.0 was our heartfelt effort to express appreciation for the relentless dedication of resident doctors, who balance demanding professional commitments with personal sacrifices every single day.
We aimed to create an event that nurtures not only professional growth but also personal well-being and camaraderie. We are grateful to the administration and faculty for their support and hope to make this an annual tradition that grows bigger and better each year."

Know the scary truth behind the caveman skincare routine that everyone's talking about
(Image Credits: Pinterest) Building a good skincare routine isn't just about picking the right products, it's also about using them in the right order and at the right time. Everyone's skin is different, so it's important to choose ingredients that actually work for your skin type. But have you ever heard of a skincare routine that requires zero products, zero applications? Sounds crazy, right? But there's actually a growing trend that's just that: no soap, no cream, no moisturizer, no serum, absolutely nothing on your skin. It's called the 'caveman skincare routine,' and it's been stirring up quite a buzz online. (Image Credits: Pinterest) In today's world of viral trends, the caveman routine has become the latest talk of the town, all thanks to a 22-year-old TikTok creator named Zakher. After trying tons of products that didn't help, and even dealing with skin picking, inflammation, and acne, she decided to hit the reset button by putting nothing on her skin at all. No washing, no cleansing, just bare skin. Top 10 tips for achieving acne-free clear skin The idea? To let the skin heal itself, just like our Stone Age ancestors supposedly did. For a couple of weeks, Zakher stuck to this routine, but her skin got flaky and textured, so she gave up. Then, after doing some research, she tried it again and noticed some improvements. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 中年以降であれば、このゲームは必須です。 BuzzDaily Winners ゲームをプレイ Undo Sounds intriguing, but dermatologists aren't convinced Experts warn that this 'no skincare' approach is a red flag. Sure, Zakher said her dead skin wasn't shedding properly, but skipping cleansing and moisturizing is not a great idea, especially if you want to keep your skin healthy. Water and gentle cleansing are super important to remove sweat, dirt, pollution, and bacteria. Ignoring basic hygiene can lead to inflammation, infections, and worsen skin problems. (Image Credits: Pinterest) This routine is especially risky for Indian skin, which is more prone to pigmentation and acne because of constant exposure to sun and pollution. So, don't toss your cleansers and moisturizers just yet! Whether you're into K-beauty, J-beauty, or good old Indian home remedies, the basics should always stay the same: wash your face with a gentle cleanser, follow up with a moisturizer, and never forget sunscreen. That's your everyday holy trinity for clean, glowing skin, no caveman routine needed. Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Doctor's Day 2025 , messages and quotes!

Haryana to have over 3,400 MBBS seats by 2029: CM
Jul 02, 2025 08:04 AM IST Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Tuesday that the state government's aim is to increase MBBS seats by over 3,400 in 2029. Stating that medical colleges are being established in every district, he said that there were only six medical colleges in 2014 and the number has now increased to 15 even as nine new colleges are under construction. (HT File) Addressing doctors at an event organised on the occasion of National Doctors' Day, the chief minister said that the state government is consistently working to provide better resources to doctors and quality healthcare services to citizens. Stating that medical colleges are being established in every district, he said that there were only six medical colleges in 2014 and the number has now increased to 15 even as nine new colleges are under construction. 'As a result, MBBS seats have risen from 700 in 2014 to 2,185 currently,' he said and extended greetings and best wishes to all doctors, healthcare workers, and those associated with the medical field. The chief minister said that this year's theme for Doctors' Day is 'Caring for the caregivers behind the mask.' This theme, he said, inspires us to appreciate doctors not only for their professional services but also for their contribution to human welfare. He recalled that during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the entire country was indoors, doctors stood by patients wearing PPE kits while staying away from their families.
