Zach Bryan's Ex Brianna LaPaglia Fires Back Against Song Remarks, Leaked Text Message
A new set of back-and-forth of barbs thrown between Bryan and LaPaglia began shortly after Bryan released a trio of new songs earlier this month, including 'River Washed Hair.' The Grammy winner denied online speculation the new song was about LaPaglia, commenting, 'Lmfao, I said 'sweet' this is not about whatever she has going on hahahahaah.'

LaPaglia swiftly responded on social media, writing, 'Lmao obviously he doesn't think I'm sweet I turned down 12 million dollars to share my abuse,' going on to claim of Bryan's previous romantic partners, 'while rose [Madden] and Deb [Peifer] signed nda's. Also fyi his songs aren't about anyone he writes them drunk at 6am.'
On his Instagram Stories, Bryan shared a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent from LaPaglia, sometime prior to Oct. 29, 2024. The lengthy message includes lines such as 'I'll never forget the love I felt for you at one time in this life! Timing was wrong and you weren't ready and that's okay. Enjoy being a rockstar. If you ever need a friend that gets it, I'll always be here, I don't break my promises.'
On July 14, LaPaglia shared on Instagram a screenshot of a different text message, one which LaPaglia claimed was from Bryan's management team, offering non-disclosure agreement option proposals, with one option including a house in addition to $3 million, and another option being a flat $10 million. 'And I rest my case! His manager texting me their options for NDA [non-disclosure agreement],' LaPaglia captioned the Instagram story containing the screenshot of the text message.
In another Instagram Story on July 14, LaPaglia wrote, 'I have not told one lie ever and it's baffling to me the brain dead little army of men that so clearly abuse women too that blindly follow their little leader bc he makes songs for them about being bad boyz lol.' She also seemed to confirm that Bryan's previously screenshotted text message was indeed from her, writing, 'For those of you confused, my ex posted screenshots of our texts (where I'm being nice lol) this morning at 7 am. He also commented on TikTok's about me last week. I am simply responding to him attacking me. I want nothing to do with this man idk why he's crashing out.'
She also wrote, 'One last thing, I am not taking the bait and please stop dming me to expose him. The proof is literally in the pudding I don't need to relive my trauma for the sake of online entertainment. Like I've said from day one. I share my experiences that I thought would be helpful for other women and I'll continue to honor that.'
She later added, 'I was offered 12.9 million dollars to stay quiet. I was presented options on what I could choose. I chose none because I have morals. End of story. I'm so sick of this s–t idk why he's crashing out.
After their breakup last year, Bryan posted on his Instagram Stories, 'Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I'll always thank her. I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and I never will be.'
Billboard has reached out to Bryan's team for comment.
Next up, Bryan will perform three headlining shows at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 18-20.

Drake Breaks His Tie With Rihanna With A New Bestseller
Drake debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart with "What Did I Miss?", his fifteenth ... More leader, and as it arrives, he breaks his tie with Rihanna. NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 28: Singer Rihanna (L) and rapper Drake pose onstage during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards at Madison Square Garden on August 28, 2016 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/WireImage) In America, hip-hop is not just the most consumed genre of music, it's also the most streamed. The biggest names in rap typically perform best on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, iHeartRadio, and others, but several major figures in the genre have proven they can sell massive quantities of albums and singles while also dominating the streaming rankings. Drake is one such star, and he demonstrates his commercial prowess once more with his brand new song "What Did I Miss?" Drake's "What Would I Do?" Debuts at No. 1 "What Did I Miss?" debuts at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, where the track enters in the highest rung with just under 6,000 pure purchases. It claims the top spot by only a few dozen sales, pushing "Ordinary" by Alex Warren down from the summit the Drake tune arrives. Fifteenth Digital Chart-Topper for Drake With a new winner to his credit, Drake earns his milestone fifteenth champion on Billboard's ranking of the bestselling tracks in the United States. "What Did I Miss?" pushes him ahead of Rihanna, with whom he was previously tied, as both had scored 14 leaders. The two superstars have collaborated numerous times throughout their careers, but now Drake surpasses her — at least for the moment. Taylor Swift Still Leads Taylor Swift continues to dominate with 29 No. 1s on the Digital Song Sales chart. That's as many ruling smashes as both Drake and Rihanna combined. Nicki Minaj holds onto second place with 17 wins. A Mix of One-Week Hits and Long-Running Smashes Most of Drake's No. 1s on the Digital Song Sales chart led for just one frame, though a few have managed to control the tally for long stretches – even months. "God's Plan" ranks as the rapper's longest-running leader, with eight frames at No. 1. "In My Feelings," which was released the same year, dominated for half a dozen weeks. Throughout his time in the spotlight, Drake has sent 159 tracks to the Digital Song Sales chart. Of those, 62 have broken into the top 10. "What Did I Miss?" Rules Eight Billboard Charts "What Did I Miss?" opens at No. 1 on eight different Billboard charts this week. Three of those lists are focused exclusively on sales, while another three measure only streaming activity. The track also conquers both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs rankings simultaneously, though it stalls in the runner-up spot on the Hot 100.

Kesha Earns A Career-First No. 1 With Her Comeback Album
Kesha debuts Period at No. 1 on Billboard's Vinyl Albums, Top Album Sales, and Top Dance Albums ... More charts, earning her first leader on the vinyl-only tally. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 06: Kesha performs onstage as YSL Beauty kicks off NYFW with YSL Beauty Candy Club at 53 Mercer on February 06, 2025 in New York City. (Photo byfor YSL Beauty) Kesha's new album Period — officially titled with just the punctuation symbol, but typically referred to by the word itself — returns the pop star to the highest reaches of several Billboard rankings this week as it arrives. The highly anticipated full-length opens at No. 1 across a variety of tallies, even sending the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter to the top spot on one list for the first time in her career. Kesha Earns Her First No. 1 Kesha launches Period at No. 1 on the Vinyl Albums chart, claiming the bestselling record in America for the first time ever. Throughout her years as a superstar, Kesha has sent a trio of projects to the Vinyl Albums list, and all of them have cracked the top five, but until now, none had led the charge. Period Beats Gag Order and Rainbow Before Period, Kesha's highest-rising win on the Vinyl Albums chart was Gag Order, the full-length that arrived just two years earlier. That set debuted at No. 3 and then fell away, never to be seen again. Rainbow reached its No. 4 high point in November 2017 when it debuted, and so far, that project is the only one from Kesha to hold on for more than one stay, as it managed only two stints on the tally. Kesha Joins Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar and The Beatles Kesha leads the Vinyl Albums tally during a fairly quiet frame. Period is one of just two debuts on the list, as Clarity Of Cal by Vulfpeck opens at No. 3, while Short n' Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter rockets back to the runner-up space from outside the top 10. Since there aren't many arrivals, several favorites have a chance to return. This week's Vinyl Albums ranking features classics from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Tame Impala, The Beatles, and SZA, all of whom manage to reappear. Two of Taylor Swift's projects, Reputation and her self-titled debut, also reenter the roster. Kesha's New Album Launches at No. 1 on Several Lists Period opens at No. 1 on three Billboard lists. In addition to the Vinyl Albums tally, the dance-pop project also conquers both the Top Album Sales and Top Dance Albums charts, where the pop singer has dominated in the past. Luminate reports that in its first full frame of availability, the latest from the party-hard musician arrives with 15,500 pure purchases. That's several thousand more than Beautiful Chaos by Katseye, which dips to No. 2 in its second week on the tally.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Reaches A Billboard Chart For The First Time
Lynyrd Skynyrd debuts on Billboard's Top Streaming Albums chart with All Time Greatest Hits as ... More 'Sweet Home Alabama' surges around the July Fourth holiday. CIRCA 1975: Lynyrd Skynyrd (L-R Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, Gary Rossington, Artimus Pyle, Ronnie Van Zandt and Billy Powell) pose for a portrait circa 1975. (Photo by Michael) Lynyrd Skynyrd scored a career-defining hit with 'Sweet Home Alabama,' the song that pays tribute to the southern state. As with so many musical projects that feature the name of anything related to the United States — or which evoke patriotism in general — 'Sweet Home Alabama' experiences a notable boost in popularity around the country's birthday each year. As consumption of the tune grows, it helps the group's most popular compilation soar once more. This year, Lynyrd Skynyrd even manages to debut on a Billboard tally the rock band has never appeared on before, thanks largely to renewed attention around its most famous tune. Lynyrd Skynyrd's Greatest Hits Set Debuts All Time Greatest Hits appears on multiple Billboard charts this week, climbing on all of them. As the compilation rises on several lists, it debuts on the Top Streaming Albums ranking, coming in at No. 44. Lynyrd Skynyrd lands on the list of the most played full-lengths and EPs on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify in the U.S. for the very first time. That's a major accomplishment for a project released a quarter-century ago and packed with songs that became hits long before then. Lynyrd Skynyrd Joins Katy Perry and Tom Petty Lynyrd Skynyrd earns one of three debuts on the Top Streaming Albums chart this week. Somewhat surprisingly, none of the projects that appear on the list for the very first time are brand new, except to this one tally. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers launch Greatest Hits at No. 31, while Teenage Dream, Katy Perry's biggest full-length, opens at No. 47, many years after it took over the globe with one smash after another. "Sweet Home Alabama" Lifts on Several Charts An increase in streams, particularly of 'Sweet Home Alabama,' helps All Time Greatest Hits climb on three additional Billboard tallies. The set returns to the top 10 on the Top Rock Albums list, jumping from No. 20 to No. 9. It also gains considerable ground on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart and the Billboard 200, landing at Nos. 11 and 45, respectively. 'Sweet Home Alabama' also finds its way into the top 10 on the Rock Streaming Songs ranking. It's clear that Americans revisiting the tune around the Fourth of July had a major impact not just on the track's position itself, but also on the compilation on which it's featured.
