Zach Bryan's Ex Brianna LaPaglia Fires Back Against Song Remarks, Leaked Text Message

The online post-breakup drama between singer-songwriter Zach Bryan and his ex-girlfriend, podcaster Brianna LaPaglia continues nearly a year after the former couple's breakup in late 2024. A new set of back-and-forth of barbs thrown between Bryan and LaPaglia began shortly after Bryan released a trio of new songs earlier this month, including 'River Washed Hair.' The Grammy winner denied online speculation the new song was about LaPaglia, commenting, 'Lmfao, I said 'sweet' this is not about whatever she has going on hahahahaah.' More from Billboard Matt Cameron Denies He's Retired Following Exit From Pearl Jam Kesha Makes Chart-Topping Debut With New Album '. (Period)' Rauw Alejandro Gains Big: 'Carita Linda' Takes No. 1 Spot on Latin Airplay Chart LaPaglia swiftly responded on social media, writing, 'Lmao obviously he doesn't think I'm sweet I turned down 12 million dollars to share my abuse,' going on to claim of Bryan's previous romantic partners, 'while rose [Madden] and Deb [Peifer] signed nda's. Also fyi his songs aren't about anyone he writes them drunk at 6am.' On his Instagram Stories, Bryan shared a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent from LaPaglia, sometime prior to Oct. 29, 2024. The lengthy message includes lines such as 'I'll never forget the love I felt for you at one time in this life! Timing was wrong and you weren't ready and that's okay. Enjoy being a rockstar. If you ever need a friend that gets it, I'll always be here, I don't break my promises.' On July 14, LaPaglia shared on Instagram a screenshot of a different text message, one which LaPaglia claimed was from Bryan's management team, offering non-disclosure agreement option proposals, with one option including a house in addition to $3 million, and another option being a flat $10 million. 'And I rest my case! His manager texting me their options for NDA [non-disclosure agreement],' LaPaglia captioned the Instagram story containing the screenshot of the text message. In another Instagram Story on July 14, LaPaglia wrote, 'I have not told one lie ever and it's baffling to me the brain dead little army of men that so clearly abuse women too that blindly follow their little leader bc he makes songs for them about being bad boyz lol.' She also seemed to confirm that Bryan's previously screenshotted text message was indeed from her, writing, 'For those of you confused, my ex posted screenshots of our texts (where I'm being nice lol) this morning at 7 am. He also commented on TikTok's about me last week. I am simply responding to him attacking me. I want nothing to do with this man idk why he's crashing out.' She also wrote, 'One last thing, I am not taking the bait and please stop dming me to expose him. The proof is literally in the pudding I don't need to relive my trauma for the sake of online entertainment. Like I've said from day one. I share my experiences that I thought would be helpful for other women and I'll continue to honor that.' She later added, 'I was offered 12.9 million dollars to stay quiet. I was presented options on what I could choose. I chose none because I have morals. End of story. I'm so sick of this s–t idk why he's crashing out. After their breakup last year, Bryan posted on his Instagram Stories, 'Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I'll always thank her. I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and I never will be.' Billboard has reached out to Bryan's team for comment. Next up, Bryan will perform three headlining shows at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 18-20. (Photo by Lorne Thomson/Redferns) Zach Bryan's most recent album The Great American Bar Scene only just turned a year old, but since that full-length dropped on July 4, 2024, the Americana superstar has continued to share new music regularly. Bryan is known as one of the most prolific hitmakers in the business right now, and he recently gave fans several new tunes to enjoy. Bryan bundled a trio of tracks — "Streets of London," "River Washed Hair," and "A Song for You" — as something of an EP under the name Streets of London, though it's being marketed more as a single. American fans quickly snapped up all three brand new cuts, turning them into fast hits for the singer-songwriter. "River Washed Hair," "Streets of London" and "A Song for You" "River Washed Hair," "Streets of London" and "A Song for You" all reach the same Billboard chart this week, as the three launch on the Rock Digital Song Sales list. Amazingly, all of them manage to debut inside the top 10, adding to Bryan's long list of wins. The biggest win is "River Washed Hair," which opens at No. 6. That cut is followed by "Streets of London" at No. 8, and "A Song for You," which comes in at No. 10. The Grammy winner has now scored 19 top 10s on Billboard's ranking of the bestselling rock tracks in the U.S. Only seven of his entries on that tally have failed to crack the uppermost region. Zach Bryan's New Multi-Chart Hits Both "River Washed Hair" and "Streets of London" also appear on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally, while "A Song for You" doesn't quite manage to break into that ranking of the most-consumed rock and alternative tracks across the U.S. By scoring two more wins, Bryan reaches a milestone 80 placements on the multi-genre tally. A Trio of Streaming Smashes As he earns a trio of brand new successes on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, Bryan fills just as many spots on the Rock Streaming Songs tally, which measures the most-played rock tracks on platforms like Spotify across the U.S. – but none of his present tracks are new. "Something in the Orange" holds at No. 6, "I Remember Everything" with Kacey Musgraves slips one spot to No. 8, while "Pink Skies" is a non-mover at No. 11 this frame.

Zach Bryan Releases 3 New Songs ‘That Didn't Belong on the Record'

Zach Bryan has given fans not only a recorded version of 'Streets of London,' which he debuted at his London concert on June 29, but two additional new songs: 'River Washed Hair' and 'Song for You.' Bryan debuted 'Streets of London' during his BST Hyde Park concert and noted in a recent Instagram post that he'd recorded the song just a few days prior at a studio favored by David Bowie. 'yoooo decided to put two songs out instead of just one it's gonna take an extra day!! Songs'll be out Tuesday sorry sorry sorry,' he wrote on a since expired Instagram Story, according to Rolling Stone. 'They are kind of just tunes that didn't belong on the record, and they didn't fit on an EP either, so I'm just releasing them to get them out into the world cause I love them. Hope you guys enjoy them. I love each one of ya!! even the folks who talked mad s–t all year.' He added, 'Also only five people ever have sold out Hyde Park two nights in a row. I have you guys to thank for it. I love you so much for showing out London. I will love your beautiful city and country forever! See you next time!' Tuesday passed with no sign of new songs, but now, Bryan has given fans even more than he promised, with this trio of tunes.
