MACC moves to seize RM169 million in cash tied to Ismail Sabri and ex-aide
MACC, represented by the deputy public prosecutor as the applicant, filed the application at the Sessions Court here naming Ismail Sabri's former political secretary Datuk Mohammad Anuar Mohd Yunus and the former prime minister himself as first and second respondents.
In the application, the commission is seeking a court order to forfeit cash seized from the first respondent for the Malaysian government, including RM14,772,150 in Malaysian currency; SG$6,132,350 in Singapore Dollars, US$1,461,400 in US Dollars, CHF 3 million in Swiss Francs, 12,164,150 in Euros, JPY363,000,000 in Japanese Yen, £50,250 in British Pound, NZ$44,600 in New Zealand Dollars, AED34,750,000 in Emirati Dirham, and A$352,850 in Australian Dollars.
The application was made under Section 41(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 after the commission was satisfied that the money kept by Mohammad Anuar belonged to Ismail Sabri and was linked to an offence under Section 36(2) of the same Act.
The commission also applied for other court orders deemed suitable by the court. — Bernama

The arrests took place between June 26 and 28, and both suspects tested negative for drugs and have no prior criminal records. The younger suspect has been remanded for 14 days from June 27 to July 10, while his father is remanded for 13 days from June 29 to July 11. Those convicted under Section 302 face the death penalty or up to 40 years in prison with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.

The flight, valued at around S$10,400 (RM35,000), was followed by a one-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha worth over S$4,700 and a business-class return flight estimated at S$5,700. The businessman is also accused of informing Iswaran that the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau had obtained the flight manifest for that trip. Iswaran subsequently requested to be billed for the private flight to minimise suspicion, according to the court documents. Ong's case remains under the spotlight due to his longstanding ties with Singapore's Formula One project. He was instrumental in securing the city-state's debut on the F1 calendar in 2008, working closely with Iswaran, who chaired the F1 steering committee and led negotiations on the Government's behalf. Police quiz five over preacher's alleged sharing of explicit videos involving his wives
KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 — Police have recorded statements from five individuals, including the wives of a freelance preacher, as part of investigations into the alleged distribution of intimate videos involving his spouses and other women. Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the 39-year-old suspect remains under investigation, and the case will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor once completed, according to a report published in the New Straits Times today.
