16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis arrested one month after son's death
New York Post can confirm that Purvis, 33, was booked in Floyd County, Georgia, on Monday, July 7.
Purvis was charged with aggravated involuntary manslaughter, distribution of a controlled substance and use of a communication device to commit a felony involving controlled substances, according to documents obtained by New York Post.
The involuntary manslaughter charge is related to Purvis' alleged distribution of a drug called tranq, which is a mix of fentanyl and xylazine, reported TMZ.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that Purvis allegedly supplied the victim, John Mark Harris, with the tranq that led to his overdose death on February 17.
The Statement of Criminal Charges connected to Purvis' arrest and obtained by The Post alleged that the former reality star committed the offences the previous day.
It was also revealed that the 16 and Pregnant star left a lengthy comment on Harris' obituary page days after his death.
She thanked Harris for 'being such a great friend' and 'always making me feel beautiful.'
'John mark, I hate that I found out what happened today and missed your funeral,' Purvis wrote on March 3.
'I wish I could've found out sooner and attended your celebration of life. thank you for being such a great friend to me and always making me feel beautiful and cared for.'
'Rest in peace and my condolences to your family and friends,' she added in the message. 'I pray they are able to find some kind of comfort during this tragic time. I love you forever, John Mark.'
The Post reached out to MTV for comment.
Purvis' arrest and charges come just weeks after her 16-year-old son, Weston, suddenly passed away. The former MTV star announced the shocking news on June 2.
'This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don't understand,' she wrote on Facebook at the time.
'Oh my baby is gone and I don't know what to do with myself,' Purvis said. 'He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true. How do you go on in life after losing a child?'
She welcomed Weston with her ex, Weston Gosa, in April 2009. The pair welcomed another son, River, in 2014, but split shortly after.
Meanwhile, Purvis was allegedly denied entry to her son's funeral last month because she reportedly arrived late to the service.
She took to Facebook shortly after to blame her ex for their son's death, saying that it 'could've been prevented.'
'My son had diabetes, Addison's disease, and alpha one anti-trypsin deficiency, and he had no medical insurance,' she wrote on June 18. 'But he had a life insurance policy taken out on him. His dad bought five cars in the last six months but couldn't pay for medical insurance.'
'He brags about how much money he has and has the nerve to make a GoFundMe to help bury him when he was just going to cremate him anyway because it was the cheapest, plus he had the life insurance policy,' she added. 'His death could've been prevented.'

Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass slams ‘outrageous' military presence, says city is ‘under siege'
Tensions continue to bubble in Los Angeles following the recent riots that broke out in response to Donald Trump's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. A senior border official said on Monday that federal agents would remain in the Californian capital 'until that mission is accomplished'. Their presence has been heavily criticised by the city's mayor, Karen Bass. The situation escalated again this week as heavily armed personnel from ICE, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and military units deployed by Mr Trump arrived in force at MacArthur Park. Officers were seen carrying rifles, patrolling the area on foot, horseback, and in armoured vehicles. Ms Bass boldly interrupted a scheduled meeting with California Governor Gavin Newsom to confront the agents in person, denouncing the show of force as a 'political stunt' by the Republicans. 'They need to leave and they need to leave right now!' she shouted, moments after speaking by phone with someone overseeing the operation. 'What I saw in the park today looked like a city under siege,' Ms Bass later told reporters. 'It's outrageous and un-American to have armed vehicles in our American parks.' She reportedly had a brief exchange with CBP Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David Kim, who connected her 'directly to the head of customs'. She said the agents began to withdraw shortly afterwards. However, Border Patrol El Centro Sector Chief Gregory Bovino made it clear that federal forces would not be stepping back. 'The federal government is not leaving LA. … The federal government does not work for Karen Bass. We're going to be here until that mission is accomplished,' Mr Bovino told Fox Los Angeles. 'Better get used to us now because this is going to be normal very soon,' he added. Ms Bass and members of the Los Angeles City Council criticised the raid for disrupting a children's summer camp, forcing the children to take shelter in a nearby basement while the operation unfolded. Health workers from the St. John's Community Health Center, who provide daily medical checks to homeless people in the park, were also forced to leave. Ms Bass later took to social media platform X to condemn the operation, posting a time-lapse video showing agents marching across an empty football pitch. 'Minutes before, there were more than 20 kids playing — then, the MILITARY comes through,' she wrote. 'The SECOND I heard about this, I went to the park to speak to the person in charge to tell them it needed to end NOW. Absolutely outrageous.' It remains unclear whether any arrests were made. According to the Los Angeles Times, local activists had warned people in the park in advance of the sweep. 'I think the goal is to spread fear,' Ms Bass said of the raid, reaffirming her commitment to keeping Los Angeles a sanctuary city for migrants. The Los Angeles Police Department said it had no knowledge of the federal operation at MacArthur Park. The US Department of Homeland Security stated that it does not comment on ongoing enforcement actions. Los Angeles has been a flashpoint for Trump-era immigration policy, with the city recently witnessing chaotic raids and public protests. The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit against the city, accusing it of obstructing immigration enforcement through its sanctuary city stance. Ms Bass said the city would challenge the former president's actions in court, including the use of military-style deployments in Los Angeles.

Huge update in case against Prince Andrew as it's revealed he won't be charged in relation to Epstein's crimes
Prince Andrew is in the clear as the FBI has revealed no one else will be charged in its probe into Jeffrey Epstein's crimes. The crime fighting agency hadn't ruled out charging the Duke of York in January but a new memo from the agency and the Department of Justice obtained by Axios has now done that. The latest disclosure from the FBI has confirmed Epstein died by suicide and comes as the DoJ released the last footage of the financier alive. They believe no one else was involved in the financier's death and said there was no evidence of any 'client list' used to blackmail powerful figures. Investigators found 'no credible evidence … that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals' and no 'evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties'. The financier was in prison as he waited for a major trial over sex-trafficking charges after decades of sick activity with minors. Following his death, conspiracies spread online and whether Epstein's death was a suicide became an open question. Andrew had feared to ever return to the US given the possibility he could be arrested. 'He has been abroad once since the scandal erupted,' the source told The Sun. 'He has always been very nervous about going abroad and felt he'd always be looking over his shoulder as he could be subject to civil action or at worst, being arrested 'Hopefully with this out of the way it means he can at least leave the country.' They added: 'What's he supposed to do with the rest of his life? He hasn't been convicted of any crime and can't sit around doing nothing at Royal Lodge forever.' Andrew, 64, paid millions to Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre in an out-of-court settlement three years ago, while denying sexual assault accusations. He stayed at Epstein's New York home, and was accused of taking part in an 'underage orgy' on Epstein's Caribbean island. In 2020, the FBI asked the Home Office for help to quiz Andrew but that investigation was paused last year. New CCTV from inside the prison Epstein was detained in shows a grey-haired Jeffrey handcuffed in an orange jump suit being led to his cell by a guard at about 7.49pm. The pair move down a small flight of stairs on the left of the frame and walk to the right across the common area as they head to the cell. CCTV footage doesn't show Epstein's cell door but it would capture anyone walking to it, the DoJ said. Other than the guard leaving, no one walks across the common area towards Epstein's cell or away from it. At approximately 10.39pm, a guard appeared to walk in the direction of Epstein's cell and then reappeared within view of the camera at 10.41pm. This is believed to be the last time anyone entered the area of Epstein's cell before the next morning. Guards can be seen walking around the common area at around 6.30am on the 10th as they deliver breakfast. At approximately 6.33am, more guards enter the common area and walk towards the area of Epstein's cell - presumably after he was found dead in his cell. The disgraced financier was found dead in jail on August 10th, 2019, but speculation has been rife that others were involved. FBI deputy director Dan Bongino pledged to release the footage after it had been a Donald Trump campaign promise. Bongino wants to end all debate by releasing proof that no one entered or left the cell before the suicide. Andrew faced recently being dragged back into public focus after he was named in High Court papers when a former Barclays boss tried to overturn a regulator's ban. High Court files revealed Andy emailed Epstein in February 2011 saying 'we'll play some more soon'. But in his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew said he ceased contact with Epstein in December 2010 after they were pictured in New York. Andrew was infamously pictured with his arm around her at Ghislaine Maxwell's home in London in 2001.
