
Elaborate security in place for CM's visit
In preparation for his arrival, Kurnool District Collector P Ranjit Basha, and District SP Vikrant Patil, conducted a detailed inspection of security measures at the Orvakal Airport on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister is expected to arrive at Orvakal Airport on July 17 (Thursday) to participate in a key event in Nandyal district. As part of the programme, he will inaugurate the release of water from the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project near Malyala village. In view of this high-profile visit, the Collector and SP reviewed all arrangements related to security and protocol at the airport and issued necessary instructions to the officials concerned. During the inspection, officials were directed to ensure foolproof security at all entry and exit points of the airport.
The SP instructed police personnel on bandobust duty to remain alert and vigilant throughout the CM's visit. Emphasis was laid on adhering to protocol and coordinating effectively with all departments involved in the arrangements. The Collector also emphasised the need for seamless coordination to ensure the CM's visit is conducted smoothly without any hindrance.
Several officials were present during the inspection, including Airport Director Vidya Sagar, Kurnool RDO Sandeep Kumar, Kurnool DSP J Babu Prasad, Bhaskar Rao, Special Branch CI Tejamurthy, Kurnool Rural CI Chandra Babu Naidu, CIs Maheshwara Reddy and Yashwanth, and Orvakal SI Sunil. Senior officers from various departments also took part in the review, ensuring that all logistical and security aspects are addressed comprehensively.

Andhra CM to embark on six-day Singapore tour to attract investments
Amaravati, Jul 24 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will embark on a six-day visit to Singapore from July 26 to 31, aimed at attracting investments to the state. During the visit, the chief minister will engage with representatives of leading global companies, business owners, prominent industrialists, and notable personalities, an official release said on Thursday. 'This visit aims to attract investments to Andhra Pradesh," it added. This marks Naidu's second foreign visit since the formation of the TDP-led NDA government, following his earlier trip to Davos in January. The visit is expected to serve as a key platform to promote 'Brand AP (Andhra Pradesh)' and showcase the state's new industrial and ease-of-doing-business policies. Naidu will highlight Andhra Pradesh's robust infrastructure, including its ports, airports, highways, harbours, and natural resources—such as its 1,053-km coastline and skilled human capital—to encourage global investors to explore opportunities in the state. The chief minister will hold meetings with CEOs and senior representatives of various companies. On the first day, he will participate in a Telugu diaspora meeting. He will also meet senior dignitaries in Singapore to invite industrialists from the region to the 'Visakhapatnam Investment Summit' scheduled for November this year. Naidu is slated to participate in business roundtable meetings focused on the digital economy and fintech, and will attend a dedicated business roadshow in Singapore. As part of the tour, he will visit key infrastructure and logistics centres across the city-state, it further said. Speaking at the Investopia Global AP 2025 Summit in Vijayawada, organised by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Naidu outlined a strategic roadmap to position Andhra Pradesh as a prime destination for international investors. The summit, a landmark event in strengthening economic ties between AP and the UAE, saw the participation of the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri. A significant highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the AP Economic Development Board (APEDB) and Investopia, marking a new chapter in bilateral economic collaboration. Naidu emphasised AP's strategic location on India's eastern coast, serving as a vital link between northern and southern India. Rs 5,94,454 crore worth 113 projects cleared, creating 5.56 lakh jobs
VIJAYAWADA: The 9th State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat on Wednesday cleared investment proposals to the tune of Rs 20,216 crore by four industries. The investments will generate employment opportunities for 50,600 persons. To date, 113 projects amounting to Rs 5,94,454 crore in investments have been approved after the formation of the coalition government through SIPB meetings. These include 46 projects in the industrial sector, 41 in energy, 11 in tourism, 11 in IT, and 4 in food processing. Collectively, these ventures are expected to generate 5,56,568 employment and livelihood opportunities. The coalition government's commitment to generating 20 lakh jobs over five years is steadily bearing fruit. IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Employment Generation, continues to make significant strides in attracting investment. In a major development, four prominent companies have come forward to invest in Andhra Pradesh. Renowned firms such as Sify, Sattva, BVM, and ANSR have proposed investments totalling Rs 20,216 crore. On this occasion, Nara Lokesh, in his capacity as Chairman of the Employment Generation Sub-Committee, presented detailed insights into the proposed investments. He stated that the entry of such prestigious companies would significantly enhance Visakhapatnam's standing. He also elaborated on the discussions held with these firms and highlighted their respective strengths.
