Coalition govt came to power by making false promises
Pattikonda (Kurnool district): Former Pathikonda YSRCP MLA Kangati Sridevi strongly condemned the recent remarks made by Labour Minister V Subhash during his visit to Pattikonda. She criticised the coalition government, stating that they came to power in 2024 by making false promises. Responding to the Minister's claims on development, she said that the previous YSRCP government executed works under the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project up to 80 per cent. She flayed the earlier TDP government for its failure to provide even a single new ration card or pension during its tenure. Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday at Pathikonda, Sridevi said that by the time former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed office in June 2019, only 12.7% of the Handri-Neeva project had been completed. She claimed that under Jagan's leadership from 2019 to 2024, nearly 80% of the project was completed and water was released. She added that during the YSRCP rule, around 4 lakh new ration cards were sanctioned and the number of pension beneficiaries increased from 39 lakh to 65 lakh across the State. She also rebutted the Minister's claim that no welfare scheme was implemented for women. Highlighting the efforts of the YSRCP government, she said that loans worth Rs 25,570 crore were waived under YSR Aasara for 78.94 lakh women and Rs 19,189 crore was distributed to 26.98 lakh women under YSR Cheyutha. Furthermore, nearly 30 lakh house site pattas were given in the names of women and the Amma Vodi scheme also focused on empowering mothers, she added.

Former Pathikonda MLA Kangati Sridevi counters Minister's claims, highlights Jagan's welfare achievements
Pattikonda: Former MLA Kangati Sridevi strongly condemned the recent remarks made by the Labour Minister during his visit to Pattikonda. She criticized the coalition government, stating that they came to power in the previous elections by making false promises. Responding to the minister's claims on development, she said that 70% of the work under the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project was completed during the previous TDP government, and alleged that the current government failed to provide even a single new ration card or pension during its early tenure. Speaking to media persons on Sunday at Pathikonda, countered the allegations, Sridevi pointed out that by the time former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed office in June 2019, only 12.7% of the Handri-Neeva project had been completed. She claimed that under Jagan's leadership from 2019 to 2024, nearly 80% of the project was completed and water was released. She added that in the last five years, around 4 lakh new ration cards were sanctioned and the number of pension beneficiaries rose from 39 lakh to 65 lakh across the state. She also rebutted the Minister's claim that no welfare scheme was implemented for women. Highlighting the efforts of the YSRCP government, she said that loans worth Rs.25,570 crore were waived under YSR Aasara for 78.94 lakh women and Rs.19,189 crore was distributed to 26.98 lakh women under YSR Cheyutha. The former MLA called the Minister's comments baseless and laughable, questioning his awareness as a cabinet member. She rejected the 'psycho governance' label made by the Minister, asserting that the previous YSRCP regime ensured inclusive and welfare-oriented administration. She further accused the coalition government of misleading the public and declared that people, deceived once, are now ready to teach them a befitting lesson in the next elections. 'Welfare schemes are synonymous with the YSR family,' she stated.

Cong flays CM over false claims on Handri-Neeva project
Kurnool: AICC member and Kurnool District Congress in-charge J Lakshmi Narasimha Yadav has strongly criticised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly making false claims about the completion of the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project. Addressing a press conference on Friday, Yadav accused the Chief Minister of taking undue credit for a project that was significantly developed during the previous Congress regimes. Yadav stated that it was late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, former Chief Minister and widely regarded as a pro-farmer leader, who ensured that nearly 90% of the canal work was completed during his tenure. He further noted that in 2012, during N Kiran Kumar Reddy's term as CM, the trial run of the canal was successfully conducted. Former Agriculture Minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy also undertook a Padayatra from Malyala to Jeedipalli Reservoir as part of the canal's inauguration efforts, releasing water along the route. Taking a dig at Chandrababu Naidu's recent visit to the Malyala Lift Irrigation Scheme, Yadav questioned the government's sincerity towards Rayalaseema's development. He pointed out that though tenders were issued for 80 km of canal repairs, only desilting and minor clearing were done without concrete lining.

AP CM Naidu releases HNSS canal water; vows irrigation, industrial revival for Rayalaseema
KURNOOL: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reiterated his commitment to Rayalaseema's development as he released water into the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) canal from the backwaters of the Srisailam Reservoir near Malayala village in Nandyal district on Thursday. Later, addressing farmers, the Chief Minister emphasized that his vision is centered on providing a permanent irrigation solution to Rayalaseema to uplift the region's economy and restore pride to a land long plagued by drought and neglect. He said this initiative would enable farmers to cultivate at least two crops a year, a long-standing goal of his for the region. Key proposed developments for Rayalaseema include the completion of the Vedavathi project benefiting Aluru, Adoni, and Mantralayam constituencies; Rs 96 crore sanctioned for Ghorakallu repairs; Rs 36 crore for restoring the Alaganur bund; and plans to complete the Adavipalli reservoir to facilitate water supply to Chittoor through the Neva branch canal. He stated that just as water reached Kuppam this year, Chittoor too will receive water by next year. The CM recalled his personal connection to Rayalaseema, noting that he was born in the region and understands its hardships firsthand. He criticised past governments for neglecting the region, asserting that the TDP alone has consistently worked for Rayalaseema's welfare. He reminded people that it was NT Rama Rao who declared that Rayalaseema should receive water before Chennai, and that groundwork for major projects in the region began during NTR's tenure. Launching a scathing attack on the YSRCP, Naidu said that while the TDP invested over Rs 12,000 crore in Rayalaseema's irrigation projects, the YSRCP, during its five-year tenure, failed to spend even Rs 2,000 crore. He claimed that all major projects were completed by the TDP and criticised the YSRCP for neglecting them. He also shared his plans to transform Rayalaseema into an industrial hub by launching major projects, including a Drone City in Orvakal, Kurnool, and the establishment of the Rayalaseema Steel Plant in Kadapa.
