'This milky toner promises glass skin – and people actually noticed'

Daily Mirror11-05-2025
Mirror's shopping writer Grace has tried her fair share of milky toners, but Beauty of Joseon's one has taken the top spot after she received compliments from strangers on her glowy skin
Milky toners have become a bit of a skincare trend this year, and I'm personally a huge fan of them. Having already tried out a few formulas, including BYOMA's Hydrating Milky Toner, £11.99, and Curel's Moisture Facial Milk, £20, I love the glow they give and how much they hydrate the skin, ready for make-up.
Even Hailey Bieber swears by a drop of her rhode Glazing Milk mixed into foundation for the ultimate lit-from-within look.
So when I discovered the internet's trendiest K-Beauty skincare brand, Beauty of Joseon's Glow Replenishing Rice Milk, I couldn't wait to try it out.
This milky toner is packed full of skin-loving ingredients that hydrate, calm, and nourish in one go. It has a dual-layer formula, which involves a light, essence-like liquid combined with a powdery base that not only provides serious moisture but also helps keep oil and shine in check.
This is especially a lifesaver if, like me, you suffer from oily skin and need to keep it at bay during the summer months without drying your skin out.
Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk review
As I previously mentioned, I'm already an avid user of milky toners, so it was unsurprising that I enjoyed using Beauty of Joseon's one so much. However, what cemented this one in particular as my new go-to is how well it works for oily skin.
Other milky toners can sometimes lean on the side of shiny, rather than radiant, but that wasn't the case with this rice milk.
Not to mention, I got literally stopped in the street and complimented on my "glass skin", which hasn't happened to me with the other milky toners I've used.
It definitely gives that luminous, "I drink three litres of water a day" glow, and because it's infused with rice extract and rice amino acids, it actually feeds your skin with a whole load of vitamins and antioxidants.
My only criticism is that I would prefer the consistency were slightly thicker; it is far more watery than other milky toners I've used in the past, and that leads me to pouring out a bit too much product every time I use it.
Overall, however, I think it's the perfect glowy but not greasy base for under makeup or those makeup-free days when you want your skin to do all the talking.

Trust Me, These Trainers Will Be Everywhere Soon – Shop Before They Sell Out

Every stylish woman I know is an Alo Yoga fan. Truly, madly, deeply. For many chic celebs (including Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber), fashion editors and influencers, it's the ultimate activewear brand, offering the best of everything – from leggings and sports bras to loungewear sets. As it turns out, though, you can improve on perfection, and the brand's latest trainer launch is solid proof. Released this week, the Sunset Sneaker marks the brand's third foray into the sneakerverse. Where the previous Alo Runner and Recovery Mode trainers tapped into performance-based silhouettes, these trainers make for a more fashion-forward addition to the line-up. Leaning into the sleek silhouettes that have been reigning supreme through multiple seasons now (hello, Adidas Sambas and Puma Speedcats), the suede trainers hit all the right minimalist notes. ALO Sunset Sneaker From the Pilates studio to dinner dates, these sleek black trainers will seamlessly slot into any look. Sure, the most appealing thing about the Sunset trainers might be the streamlined silhouette, but that's not the only thing piquing our interest. Wrapped in buttery soft suede, the trainers sit on a recovery foam insole that prioritises comfort. Then there's the neutral colour palette and wide laces that add a timeless finish. And because no one likes those dreaded new-shoe blisters, the heel collar is padded. Available in classic black and beige, no matter which trainer you go for, you'll find that it goes with pretty much anything in your wardrobe. A coffee and croissant run? A weekend brunch with friends? Getting your steps in? Wherever the day is taking you, the Sunset trainers will keep you company. While they look brilliant with jeans, summer dresses, easy leggings and everything in between for a casual flair, I'd also pair them with my tailoring for a subtle contrast at the office. ALO Sunset Sneaker in Sandstone If you're on the hunt for a low-key trainer, this beige pair is perfectly fashion-forward and functional. ALO Runner Designed with a stabilising heel, impact-absorbing midsole, and breathable upper, the ALO Runner is an excellent running shoe. Available in five neutral, as well as six limited-edition pastel shades, you could also style the chunky trainers with your jeans for an off-duty flair. ALO Recovery Mode Sneaker With a more vintage skater silhouette, the Recovery Mode trainers are perfect for casual walks in the park. We love this navy/white limited edition colourway, but there are plenty of others to pick from to suit your style. Main image credits: Alo Yoga Hitanshi Kamdar is a senior commerce writer for Grazia. 'Kim Kardashian's £52 face wrap feeds into a dangerous obsession with facial perfection'

SKIMS has launched a brand new product that claims to help sculpt your face and help you wake up with a 'seriously sharp and contoured face' - but critics question whether it's taking beauty standards one step too far Kim Kardashian's SKIMS brand has never held back when it comes to unconventional standards of fashion lines - but the latest launch has left people divided. From bras with fake nipples on show to micro bikinis that would struggle to even cover a Dorito, it's a brand that always gets people talking. ‌ Renowned for their ultimate body shapewear, promising sleek silhouettes and serious tummy control knickers, the $3billion (£2.2bn) SKIMS empire has just released Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap designed to give you a snatched and sharp jawline, reduce puffiness and improve facial definition - apparently. ‌ Amid the launch, Mirror writer Danielle Kate Wroe called for the product to be "stopped". The shapewear, inspired by lymphatic drainage massages comes in two colours and tightly wraps around your face and neck and fastened with a Velcro strap. It's designed to be worn to bed, in the hope you wake up with a seriously sculpted face - but does it work? ‌ According to Kim, it's an "absolute necessity", as the contraption is infused with collagen yarns and the new launch, in true SKIMS style, has already sold out after only launching on July 29. Costing a staggering £52, shoppers are hoping to copy Kim's ultra-sculpted face shape. With many calling for women to just "sleep in peace", they aren't convinced this product is a good idea - including renowned skincare guru and expert Caroline Hirons, was seen chiming in on the Skims Instagram comments, asking: "Is it April Fools?" ‌ Another Instagram user wrote: "Guys, there's straight up no science to back this. Believe me, I've looked (I've always had a double chin) Save your money." While others are comparing it to Hannibal Lecter as well as The Handmaids Tale and slamming the "disturbing" product to pressuring women to conform to these beauty standards. For more stories like this subscribe to our weekly newsletter, The Weekly Gulp, for a curated roundup of trending stories, poignant interviews, and viral lifestyle picks from The Mirror's Audience U35 team delivered straight to your inbox. ‌ One of the unique selling points of the product is the collagen yarn, and according to Olga Skydan, dermatologist and member of the Medical Expert Board at the face yoga app Luvly, the term sounds scientific, but it's "largely a marketing ploy". She told The Mirror: "Collagen yarn refers to textile fibres infused with collagen peptides derived from fish or bovine sources. In some garments, these are used for moisturizing or skin-conditioning benefits. But the thing is, collagen molecules are far too large to penetrate intact through the skin barrier, and certainly too large to do so via a garment." She highlighted that it can't help promise a snatched face and compared it to a Gua Sha. She said: "Gua sha, at least, is based on traditional massage techniques that stimulate lymphatic drainage and blood flow. On the other hand, the SKIMS face wrap does something similar, but in a compressive way. It can temporarily reduce puffiness, just as sleeping in an upright position can. But make no mistake, there's no rejuvenation happening here." ‌ The expert also notes concern over the wording used for the product. The product is called 'Seamless Sculpt" and Olga said 'sculpted,' and other similar adjectives, "feeds into an already dangerous obsession with facial perfection and symmetry among women" and added: "The implication is that natural softness or aging is something to be concealed or fixed. And the fact that the solution is marketed as something you can wear at home while multitasking suggests that we should always be optimizing ourselves, even during rest." here are a lot of effective, non-invasive options out there, according to the expert. For example, professional-grade radiofrequency and ultrasound can stimulate collagen and elastin and at-home products such as retinoids and peptides can help improve skin density over time. ‌ As well as lifestyle habits like a consistent use of SPF, a protein-rich diet, adequate hydration, and quality sleep still form the foundation of skin health. Katie Price's daughter Princess Andre stuns in sunkissed snaps from Mexico holiday after huge designer shopping haul

PRINCESS Andre looked utterly sun-kissed in glowing new snaps from her holiday in Mexico. The young fashion and beauty influencer cut a stylish figure wearing a V-neck mini dress featuring both leopard and zebra prints. 5 Princess, 18, matched the outfit with layers of silver necklaces, sparkly silver sandals, and a small Louis Vuitton handbag. The daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price wore her hair down in flowing waves that framed her face and soft-glam makeup. This was the perfect look for going out, or perhaps Princess was returning home to the evening-lit accommodation behind her. Fans of the fashionista flocked to Instagram with compliments on her glowing skin and outfit. 'Sunkissed', one fan commented, followed by emojis of the sun, the Mexican flag and a palm tree. Another replied: 'Aww lovely pics of you Princess, true beauty inside and out.' The photos come only a day after Princess admitted online that she splurged on a designer shopping haul. 'My bank account hates me', Princess shared on her Snapchat story showing the boot of a car loaded up with shopping bags from brands including Louis Vuitton, Sephora and Charlotte Tilbury. She later went on to show off her new £2k Louis Vuitton bag in another story, clasping it with both hands and holding it up to the camera. The 18-year-old has had a very successful year so far, including passing her driving test and landing her own reality TV show set to launch on ITV. Princess Andre hits back at money-shaming trolls who claim 'Peter and Katie Price bought her £10k motor as first car' Princess purchased her own car earlier in the year - an Audi A1 - determined to work hard and do things for herself. In addition to this, Princess has already signed many large-figure deals with clothing and beauty brands including Superdrug, Morphe, and Revolution, with the goal to become a millionaire by the age of 20. She previously said: 'I want to achieve so many things and be my own person. It's about taking my time, figuring it out as I go. I know I want to be very successful.' And it seems her efforts are paying off, as Tatler Magazine named Princess as the second best dressed celebrity for 2025. She was beaten by high society sisters Lady Lola Bute & Jazzy De Lisser, who took the top spot, while the Top 10 also featured Rocco Ritchie and Zara Tindall. 5 5
