
Oman, Türkiye explore investment opportunities
The meeting discussed ways to activate joint investments between the two sides under the Oman-Türkiye Joint Fund, exploring high-return growth opportunities in promising sectors that serve the economic interests of both countries, strengthen bilateral relations, and localize technology and expertise in domestic markets.
Discussions also focused on enhancing investment cooperation with OYAK, the Turkish sovereign wealth fund, under the Oman-Türkiye Joint Investment Fund—established with equal contributions from both sides and a capital of USD 500 million.
The fund primarily targets investments in Oman and Türkiye, along with strategic global opportunities, particularly in mining and metals, automotive manufacturing, logistics, chemicals, agriculture and food, and energy sectors.
This partnership aligns with OIA's expansion and growth strategy to strengthen its international investment network and establish high-value partnerships that benefit the national economy.

Oman, Philippines sign visa waiver for diplomatic, special, service passports
Manila: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of the Philippines today signed a mutual visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports. Both sides agreed to pursue efforts to sign several memoranda of understanding and agreements that would strengthen bilateral cooperation. On the political front, the two sides exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest, including consultations on knowledge exchange, skills development, and strengthening partnerships between ASEAN and the GCC. Maria Theresa Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines expressed profound gratitude for Oman's humanitarian efforts, which recently led to the release of several sailors from the MV Galaxy Leaders in Yemen. She also commended the wise and balanced foreign policy of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the fair treatment of Filipino workers in Oman. Additionally, she welcomed the outcomes of the successful Oman-Cebu Investment Forum and expressed interest in supporting further private-sector initiatives to leverage available investment opportunities. For his part, Sayyid Badr appreciated the remarks of the Philippine Foreign Secretary, emphasizing the shared values and friendship that continue to grow in service of mutual interests and common prosperity. The meeting was attended by Eng. Nasser bin Said Al Manouri, Oman's Ambassador to the Philippines; Raul Hernandez, the Philippine Ambassador to Oman; and several officials from both sides.

Oman's central bank issues treasury bills worth OMR10.25 million
Muscat: Oman's central bank has issued treasury bills worth OMR10.25 million on Monday. The value of the allotted Treasury bills amounted to OMR10.25 million, for a maturity period of 91 days. The average accepted price reached OMR98.941 for every OMR100, and the minimum accepted price arrived at OMR98.930 per OMR100. The average discount rate and the average yield reached 4.24871% and 4.29421%, respectively. Treasury Bills are short-term highly secured financial instruments issued by the Ministry of Finance, and they provide licensed commercial banks the opportunity to invest their surplus funds. The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) acts as the Issue Manager and provides the added advantage of ready liquidity through discounting and repurchase facilities (Repo). It may be noted that the interest rate on the Repo operations with CBO is 5.00% while the discount rate on the Treasury Bills Discounting Facility with CBO is 5.50%.
