Historic Milestone: Rs.9,000 Crores Transferred to 70 Lakh Farmers in 9 Days Under Telangana's Rythu Bharosa Scheme
Addressing the press at the state secretariat in Hyderabad on Tuesday, flanked by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, and Excise, Tourism & Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to transforming agriculture into a festival-like experience for the farming community. 'We have taken a firm and unshakable resolve not just to empower farmers but to celebrate farming itself,' he declared.
Despite financial constraints, the government ensured that farmers faced no hardship, the CM added. The initiative has sparked widespread enthusiasm among the rural population, with many farmers expressing joy and gratitude toward the timely support from the state.
District-Level Celebrations: Gadwal Farmers Rejoice
In Gadwal district, the Rythu Vijayotsavam (Farmer Victory Celebrations) were held with great enthusiasm. At various Rythu Vedikas (Farmers' Platforms), farmers gathered voluntarily to celebrate the rapid disbursal of financial assistance to their accounts. The positive mood was palpable across the district.
Jogulamba Gadwal Additional District Collector Lakshminarayana, along with District Agriculture Officer Sakriya Naik, participated in the celebratory event at the Pudur Agricultural Cluster Rythu Vedika in Gadwal mandal. They interacted with model farmers and acknowledged the success of the initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Lakshminarayana highlighted the state government's focus on strengthening farmers financially through the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He revealed that within the district alone, ₹244.65 crores had been deposited into the accounts of 165,336 farmers over the 9-day period. The government's efforts also include the supply of quality seeds and fertilizers, along with crop loan waivers, making agriculture more secure and profitable for the farmers.
Virtual Participation and Widespread Engagement
Farmers from across the state participated with keen interest in the face-to-face video conference with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The live session was broadcast at local Rythu Vedikas, where farmers listened attentively to the CM's speech, expressing appreciation for the swift and effective implementation of the scheme.
The Gadwal event saw participation from agricultural officials, mandal-level officers, and a large number of farmers. The occasion underscored the strong farmer-government partnership that the Revanth Reddy administration aims to foster in the coming decade, with the vision of transforming Telangana's agricultural landscape into one of prosperity and celebration.

Food For Thought: TG govt to issue 2 lakh new ration cards soon
Hyderabad: With some 2 lakh new beneficiaries being added to PDS, the new ration cards are all set to be distributed by CM Revanth Reddy within the next fortnight. Over 2 lakh new ration cards will be issued during this first phase. The list of eligible beneficiaries has already been finalised after thorough verification of the applications received through MeeSeva centers and the recent Praja Palana program. The number of beneficiaries of ration cards in the state has reached 2.93 crore so far and the number of cards has crossed 90 lakh. About 2.50 lakh applications have been received by authorities for new cards across the state through Prajapalana, Gram Sabhas, Prajavani and Meeseva, besides 8.10 lakh applications for adding the names of existing cards with new family members, informed official sources. This marks a significant step, as no new ration cards had been issued in the state for several years. Following the formation of the Congress-led government, a cabinet sub-committee was formed to formulate the criteria and procedures for issuing new ration cards. The state government had also invited applications to add family members to existing cards and ensured that all requests were filtered through strict eligibility checks. In a modernization effort, the government is planning to issue Smart Ration Cards this time. CM Revanth Reddy had earlier announced this move in a public meeting, stating that the cards would feature barcodes for easy access and advanced digital features. The smart cards will resemble ATM cards in size and design. One side of the card will feature a photograph of CM Revanth Reddy and the Civil Supplies Minister, while the center of the card will display the Telangana government logo. The final design has reportedly been approved and is expected to be unveiled soon. The card aims to make transactions smoother, reduce fraud, and improve transparency in the Public Distribution System.

Telangana CM announces Rs 1 crore aid to kin of Sigachi Pharma blast victim, orders probe
Sangareddy (Telangana) [India], July 1 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of the deceased and ordered a detailed inquiry into the Sigachi Pharma Industries explosion that killed 34 people and left several others injured. Addressing the gathering, CM Reddy said, 'Rs 1 crore will be given to the deceased and Rs 10 lakh to the seriously injured, and Rs 5 lakh to the injured people. The government will take care of their medical treatment...' He further added that the government would not only provide financial assistance but also establish new regulations to prevent such incidents in the future. 'The inquiry is going on. We will examine everything and see all the lapses and make regulations,' the Chief Minister said. The Chief Minister announced an immediate assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the deceased's family and Rs 50,000 to the injured to cover emergency expenses. He visited Sigachi Pharma Industries in the Sangareddy district and held a review meeting. He directed officials to submit a detailed investigation report into the cause of the blast. While interacting with factory authorities, Chief Minister Reddy asked, 'Don't conclude with assumption or general opinion. I need specific reasons for this accident. Only then can we address what happened here today.' The Chief Minister also enquired about the treatment status and hospital expenses of the injured victims. He said, 'How many people are unskilled and skilled labour? Have you segregated the number of skilled and unskilled workers who died after the blast?' Revanth Reddy emphasised that such incidents should serve as a learning point for both the government and industry stakeholders. 'We need to focus on what instructions we must give to avoid similar problems in other industries like this. There are two things we need from this: first, a detailed report, and second, accountability,' he further said. He directed the officials not to rely on earlier inspections or reports and insisted on fresh evaluations by new experts. The Chief Minister also referred to possible compliance lapses by the industry and called for a review of past notices and penalties. So far, 34 people have lost their lives in the explosion and rescue operations continued at the site of the blast. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in the explosion. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured has been announced from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. (ANI)
