A "clingy" dachshund's attachment to her owner which sometimes forces her owner to sneak her into events with a bag has left viewers on TikTok in hysterics.
A June 26 TikTok post, shared by the canine's owner under @ernonpan, shows the puppy peeking out of a handbag as she is carried from place to place. An overlaid text on the video read: "Just me sneaking my clingy dachshund puppy everywhere," while the caption added: "it's either this or a dachshund crying like she is abandoned forever."
The clip has been liked more than 62,000 times to date, and viewers have been quick to flood the comments with reactions ranging from admiration to empathy, with many sharing their own experiences of having needy pets who refuse to be left behind.
Dachshunds, often referred to as sausage dogs, are often described by owners and breeders as intensely loyal and prone to developing separation anxiety.
The American Kennel Club (AKC) notes that the breed is clever, lively and courageous, but can also become clingy with their favorite human. Many dachshunds form a strong attachment to one person in their household, which can make them prone to distress when left alone.
In this case, rather than leave the dog behind to howl in protest, @ernonpan simply carries her around—handbag and all. The result is a humorous, tender moment that has struck a chord with dog lovers.
"Did exactly the same thing with an 8-week-old dachshund when I went to go on a tram (even though I was carrying him anyway) so I put him in my backpack and had his head out of the bag, ticket person came around and couldn't really say anything," one viewer said, while another added: "I take my dog with me in a backpack for dogs and he loves it. Just doctors/hospital are an exception."
"Our children," a third viewer said. "They should be allow everywhere."
As short-legged, long-bodied dogs originally bred for hunting, dachshunds are surprisingly energetic despite their small stature. They crave companionship and often become distressed if left alone for extended periods. This personality trait makes them well-suited to devoted owners willing to accommodate their constant need for closeness—even if it means sneaking them into everyday settings in a purse.

I'm a waitress who makes big tips with this white lie — trolls say I have no morals, but I don't care

When it comes to making huge tips, she doesn't kid around. Although it's deceptively self-serving, a San Diego-based waitress has masterminded what's being deemed an 'amoral' hack for tugging at the heartstrings (and purse strings) of generous restaurant-goers. 'I put my baby picture in my server book to look like a single mom who has to provide,' Aislin Parker, 25, dished in the closed-captions of a trending TikTok tell-all, which has amassed over 2.2 million views. 'People are like, 'Is that your daughter?'' Parker said, showing off the precious photo of herself as a tot, dressed in an all-pink ensemble. 'I'm like, 'Yeah,'' continued the brunette, sharing the details of her phony sob story with a whiny tone of voice. ''She's six. I had her when I was 19. The dad didn't want to stay.'' 'It's giving single mom who works two jobs,' Parker said with a sly smirk, quoting Reba McEntire's 'I'm a Survivor' lyrics. 'I'm like, 'Help me support my baby. It's really tough.'' 'And it's working.' Parker's pity approach to making a pretty penny is one that plenty of servers are using to fatten their pockets. Tay B, a 20-something slinging wing-dings at Hooters, virally claimed that she raked in a whopping $400 in tips during one shift thanks to her protruding pregnant belly. Big-hearted customers showered the Gen Z with big bucks out of sheer sympathy for her big baby bump. Waitress Bella Woodard, however, gave herself a baby-like makeover, styling her hair in two girlish pigtails, in order to get hefty handouts from her male clientele. 'I got a $135 tip by one guy tonight,' Woodard bragged of the hairy hack. 'Wear pigtails to work, I'm boutta be doing this everyday.' The profitability of the stunts notwithstanding, haters argue that emotionally manipulating folks out of their money is totally wrong. 'So basically you are a liar,' spat an unamused commenter beneath Parker's baby pic post. 'No morals,' another outraged online barker. 'I couldn't imagine lying to make tips,' an equally disgusted detractor wrote. 'And then there are the single moms ACTUALLY working to support our kids. Two jobs,' a separate naysayer said, suggesting that Parker's money-making escapade makes a mockery of real working mothers who are going it alone. 'If you're a good server, I promise you don't have to lie to get better tips. Just sayin.' But the pennywise waitress isn't bothered by the shaming. 'So yeah, I'm like totally lying,' Parker shrugged in a subsequent snippet. 'I've donated my eggs twice, so I'm basically a mommy,' she teased. 'But I love to go into work and [become] a different person and make something up.' 'You gotta do what you gotta do.'

He started his career in Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) in 1999 before signing a developmental contract with WWE in 2000, where he worked in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) before his main roster debut. It was during this formative period that someone gave him advice that could have ended his journey before it truly began. While speaking on Complex's GOAT Talk, Cena was asked to share the worst advice he has ever gotten. He stated he wanted to "protect the innocent" by not naming the person who gave him the advice, but he did not hold back in sharing the career-altering suggestion that he ultimately ignored. I want to protect the innocent," Cena said before revealing the advice: "You got to drop this wrestling thing." Ignoring that guidance led to Cena becoming one of the most decorated and successful WWE Superstars in the company's history. His decade-plus run as the face of WWE and his numerous charitable endeavors, especially with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, have cemented a legacy that almost wasn't. He successfully transitioned to mainstream Hollywood with a breakout comedic performance in 2015's Trainwreck, which revealed his surprising comedic timing and led to larger roles in comedies like Blockers. Cena then entered the blockbuster world, joining major franchises with roles in Bumblebee and as Dominic Toretto's brother, Jakob, in F9: The Fast Saga. His most acclaimed role is that of Peacemaker in the DC Universe. Woman Texts Roomie Cat "Destroyed" Pillow—Unprepared for What She Replies

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A cat owner was worried her pet destroyed her roommate's silk pillow, but what the roomie responded with left people cracking up. Kaylee, who is known on TikTok as @smoothiegal101, returned home to her cat lounging on a pillow. She immediately began to worry because it looked like the feline "destroyed" the silk pillow. The cat, named Poppy, wouldn't stop licking it. Every time Kaylee tried pushing the cat away, Poppy kept going back, adding to the slobbery masterpiece. Kaylee immediately texted her roommate, expressing her concern about Poppy chewing on her pillow. She sent a video and couldn't explain the behavior. But, much to her surprise, her roommate didn't seem miffed. The first text back she received read: "LMAFOOO YES." As it turned out, Kaylee's roommate purposely added a catnip leaf inside the pillow case with the hopes Poppy would want to be in her bed. She was "desperate for his love." A common herb from the mint family, catnip can cause behavioral changes in about 60 percent of cats, such as openly expressing signs of affection, relaxation and happiness, an article from PetMD explained. Some cats could become playful or even aggressive. In this instance, the catnip made Poppy obsessed with her pillow. He wouldn't leave it, which was exactly what the roommate wanted. The hope is that he would find her bed appealing and they would cuddle the night away. Newsweek reached out to @smoothiegal101 via email for additional information and comment. What Do the Comments Say? As of Wednesday, the TikTok video reached over 992,100 views and 53,500 likes as viewers flooded the comment section with hysterics over the relatable desperate attempts to get a cat to love you. "She's so real for this," wrote one person, while another echoed: "Oh my god, this has me in tears I am so her, she is so me." A third user commented: "'It worked,' she's been plotting this one for a minute." But it turns out she's not the only one willing to go to extremes for a pet's love. Someone shared: "Me when i taped a piece of chicken under my pillow so my grandma's dog would sleep with me." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
