WEST JORDAN, Utah () — A West Jordan man has been charged with first-degree felony aggravated assault after he allegedly restrained another man and stripped him down to his underwear while accusing him of stealing his dog.
According to charging documents, the suspect, identified as Jadon Randy Jones, 23, and several others confronted the victim during a house party on May 18, claiming the victim's friends stole his dog.
The victim told officers that he was pulled down to the ground and stripped down to his underwear during the confrontation. Jones, along with the other unidentified suspects, was reportedly being 'extremely aggressive' toward the victim and allegedly punched him several times. One witness reported hearing Jones exclaim, 'I'm not trying to hurt you. I just want my dog back.'

Charging documents say the scene only began to calm down when a friend of the victim intervened. Afterward, everyone involved in the alleged assault fled before police could arrive.
Jones reportedly told investigators that the victim and his friends had been asking about the dogs, including about buying them from Jones. Jones said the dogs were not for sale, but later found his dog was missing and the victim's friends had left. Jones told police he didn't believe that the victim had stolen the dog, but wanted him to call his friends back to the house.
According to charging documents, Jones allegedly admitted to confronting the victim and restraining him but denied hitting him. He claims several other suspects were around, hitting the victim and attempting to blindfold him with his own t-shirt. Jones told investigators he did not know who the other suspects were and claimed he tried to tell the others to stop.
Jones has been ordered to be held on a $5,000 bail, pending a pretrial hearing.
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner Was Trying to Save His Daughter From Riptide Before Drowning, Police Say

Malcolm-Jamal Warner tried to save his daughter in the ocean before he drowned, an official confirms exclusively to Us Weekly. According to Elberth León, head of the Tourist Police for Costa Rica's Atlantic region, both Warner and his daughter found themselves dragged by an ocean current when the accident occurred on Sunday, July 20. 'Both were dragged by the current,' León shared with Us on Thursday, July 24. 'They were bathing together and were caught by a rip current. Obviously, as a father, he fought for his daughter, but the current in that area is very strong, and they couldn't accomplish the objective.' León said authorities received an incident call through the 911 emergency system on Sunday near Playa Grande, Cahuita, Limón. When tourist police arrived at the beach, Red Cross personnel were already there. Malcolm-Jamal Warner's Most Memorable Roles: From 'The Cosby Show' to 'The Resident' 'They indicated that Mr. Malcolm was in the water enjoying himself with his daughter. At that moment, they were dragged by a rip current,' León shared. 'Two people who were there at the location went in with a surfboard and a boogie board to help rescue the people who were caught in the current.' One of the helpers managed to get Warner's daughter back to land safely. Soon after, the unidentified individual had to help another adult male patient. 'They managed to stay with the girl, managed to get her onto the board, but due to the strength of the current, one of them, from Nicaragua, had to let go of the board and push it toward the shore so the girl could make it to land or the coast,' León explained. 'The person who pushed the board was also dragged by the current, so it forced the person with the board to go back into the sea to pull him out. They managed to get him out in critical condition. He was very exhausted.' Warner was later pulled out by the Red Cross lifeguards and one of the rescuers from Caribbean Guards without vital signs, León said. The Costa Rica Red Cross confirmed to Us on Monday, July 21, that emergency personnel attended to two adult male patients at the scene. One man was transported in critical condition to the local clinic while CPR was performed on Warner. The Cosby Show alum was later pronounced dead at the scene. He was 54. The other individual has been discharged, according to León. 'The Cosby Show' Cast: Where Are They Now? The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency confirmed to Us that Warner's autopsy was completed on Tuesday, July 22, with 'asphyxia due to submersion' found as the cause. His death was ruled accidental by officials. León said the beach where Warner and his daughter visited is normally under a red flag due to the very frequent rip currents in the area. 'We believe it was one of the days with the highest waves and the strongest currents,' León shared. 'He was at the shore rinsing off sand with the girl. They took a quick dip and that's when it happened.'

Chuck E. Cheese Mascot Arrested by Florida Cops in Full Costume — As Kids Look On

Jermell Jones, an employee at the location, was charged with three felonies A man dressed in a Chuck E. Cheese mascot costume was arrested at work for alleged credit card fraud. Jermell Jones was charged with three felonies — theft of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification information and fraudulent use of a credit over two times within six months, the Tallahassee Democrat reports. Jones, 41, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on Wednesday, July 23, as children and families inside of the Chuck E. Cheese location watched on amid a child's birthday party. He was identified after police entered the restaurant and another employee confirmed his identity. The arrest took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. local time at the Chuck E. Cheese on the 2800 block of Sharer Road in Tallahassee, Fla., CBS Miami reports. Photos and videos captured of the shocking arrest went viral on social media, and the TPD later confirmed their authenticity. TPD spokesperson Alicia Hill told the Democrat, 'They walked over with the intention of just walking outside to put handcuffs on him outside of public view." Hill continued, "But when they approached him, he immediately tenses up and resists, and so at this point they make the decision to put him in handcuffs, keeping in mind the safety of not only the customers, but the suspect, as well as the officers themselves." She then revealed that TPD does not have a specific policy on when to determine if arrests in public spaces are appropriate. Following the arrest, a woman approached the officers at the scene and allegedly provided video evidence, identifying Jones as the person who made fraudulent purchases with her child support debit card. She told police she last used the card on June 28 during her child's birthday party at the restaurant. Jones initially denied using anyone else's card, but later confessed to officers that he sometimes used a cousin's card, identifying her only as "Key," the report obtained by CBS Miami states. Police also found a small amount of marijuana in Jones' possession, the outlet reports. Want to keep up with the latest crime coverage? Investigators ultimately determined Jones' scheme upon reviewing surveillance footage from a nearby store and transaction logs that showed he had used the card in multiple locations. The card was discovered on his person at the scene of his arrest. He was booked and released Thursday morning on $1,000 bond. PEOPLE has reached out to the Chuck E. Cheese location where the arrest took place, and the TPD for comment. "We are aware of an incident involving a part-time employee arrested at our Tallahassee location on Wednesday, July 23," a spokesperson for Chuck E. Cheese said in a statement to PEOPLE. "We have taken the appropriate action concerning the subject employee. The police have not reached out to us about this; please contact the local Tallahassee police department for any questions." Malcolm-Jamal Warner was ‘caught by a high current' in Costa Rica before fatal drowning: police

Sitcom star Malcolm-Jamal Warner was 'caught by a high current' in Costa Rica before he accidentally drowned Sunday afternoon. The 'Cosby Show' alum's body was discovered by local authorities near Cocles, a beach in Limon, ABC News first reported Monday. Police said in a statement, obtained by The Post, that Warner was pulled from the water by people in the area and taken to shore, where the Costa Rica Red Cross tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Warner's cause of death is listed as asphyxiation by 'submersion. Reps for Warner weren't immediately available to Page Six for comment. The 54-year-old actor's death was announced via X Monday by a woman named Kimara who claimed to be his cousin. 'My cousin died yesterday after drowning in costa rica,' she posted. 'Yall pls be safe out here while traveling and doing water sports. Wear life jackets etc.' In a follow-up message, she added, 'Staying off socials for the rest of the day cuz seeing his face all over is hurting my feelings bad.' Warner had kept his family out of the spotlight, including his wife and daughter, whose identities are unknown. He was best known for his role as Theodore Huxtable on 'The Cosby Show.' He starred on the sitcom from 1984 to 1992 alongside Bill Cosby, Phylicia Rashad, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Lisa Bonet and more. Warner received an Emmy nomination in 1986 for his role on the show.
