The plant will employ advanced automation and Industry 4.0 technologies, ensuring consistent quality while maintaining competitive production costs. Sagar Sachdev, Executive Director, HVR Solar Pvt Ltd, emphasised the market implications: 'The demand for high-efficiency bifacial modules is accelerating globally, driven by utility-scale projects seeking maximum energy yield per square meter. Our 715Wp modules will enable developers to achieve superior project economics while reducing land requirements and installation costs.' Live Events The N-Type Topcon bifacial technology offers several advantages over conventional modules, including higher efficiency, better temperature coefficient, reduced light-induced degradation, and enhanced performance in low-light conditions. These characteristics make them particularly suitable for India's diverse climatic conditions and utility-scale installations. India's solar module manufacturing capacity has witnessed remarkable growth, supported by government initiatives, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) regulations. HVR Solar's expansion aligns with the government's vision of achieving 500GW renewable energy capacity by 2030 and reducing import dependence in the solar sector. The company's expansion comes at a time when domestic solar demand is experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by corporate sustainability commitments, declining solar tariffs, and supportive policy frameworks. HVR Solar's new facility will incorporate sustainable manufacturing practices, including renewable energy integration, water recycling systems, and waste minimisation protocols. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality in its manufacturing operations by 2027, setting new benchmarks for environmental responsibility in the sector. The expansion is expected to strengthen India's position in the global solar supply chain while reducing the sector's dependence on imports. With this facility, HVR Solar will be well-positioned to serve both domestic and export markets, contributing to India's emergence as a global manufacturing hub for renewable energy technologies.
