AI won't take away jobs but adaptability essential: VP of pharma company
Mysuru: Artificial intelligence will not take away jobs, but people who fail to adapt and use AI may find themselves replaced, said Dr Girish Kapur, senior vice-president, India Site Operations & Site Head, USP India, Hyderabad. He was speaking after inaugurating the Graduates' Day ceremony of JSS College of Pharmacy, held at Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS Medical College on Tuesday. In his address, Dr Kapur urged graduating students to remain updated with the latest technological advancements. "Adaptability is crucial. If you don't evolve with changing times, success will be difficult. Agility and a readiness to embrace change are essential for growth," he emphasised. Highlighting the importance of personal discipline, he said, "Discipline is more critical than just hard work or talent. A disciplined approach transforms potential into performance. Let discipline be your signature—it should speak louder than your resume." He also stressed the value of teamwork in the healthcare sector. Graduation reception of JSS College of Pharmacy held
The third Graduates Reception of JSS College of Pharmacy was held in the city on Tuesday, and 267 graduates received their graduation certificates for the year 2024-25. This includes 104 BPharm candidates, 35 Pharm D candidates, 98 MPharm candidates, and 30 D Pharm candidates. R. Sudheendra Bhat, Controller of Examination, JSS AHER, administered the 'Pharmacists Oath' for all the graduates. Girish Kapur, senior vice-president, India Site Operations & Site Head of United States Pharmacopeia (USP) India, Hyderabad, told the graduating students that India's contribution to the field of pharmacy was significant and was exporting drugs to many countries. He urged them to continuously update their knowledge. The graduates were impressed upon maintaining pharma quality and standards and underlined the role played by pharmacy graduates in adhering to quality. Gold medals were conferred on toppers in different subjects and Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Mutt, C.G. Betsurmath, executive secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, H. Basavanagowdappa, Vice-Chancellor, JSS AHER, T.M. Pramod Kumar, principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, and others were present.

JSS college to host pharma leaders' meet
Mysuru: JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, a constituent unit of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), will host the Forum for Pharma Quality Leaders (FPQL) Meet 2025 on June 21 at its campus. This national-level event aims to serve as a premier platform for discussions on pharmaceutical quality standards, regulatory frameworks, and enhancing industry-academia collaboration. Speaking to reporters, TM Pramod Kumar, principal of JSS College of Pharmacy, said, "The FPQL Meet is a significant step towards aligning academic excellence with industry needs. It creates an open forum for pharmaceutical quality leaders and young professionals to engage in meaningful discussions that strengthen the foundation of quality assurance in the pharma sector." Dr Amit B Patil, coordinator of Training & Placement Cell, added that over 100 participants— including quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) heads, regulatory experts, and academic professionals from across the country—are expected to attend. National meet of pharma leaders to be held in Mysuru on June 21
The Forum for Quality Pharma Leaders (FQPL) will hold its national meet at JSS College of Pharmacy in Mysuru on June 21. The meet will serve as a platform for dialogue on pharmaceutical quality standards, regulatory practices and industry-academia collaborations, said a press statement. B. Suresh, Pro-Chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSSAHER) will inaugurate the event. Representatives of pharmaceutical industries including Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Cipla, Biocon, Sun Pharma, Micro Labs, Syngene International, Lupin, Aragen etc., will attend the meet. T.M. Pramod Kumar, principal of JSS College of Pharmacy, which is a constituent college of JSSAHER, said the meet will cover challenges and opportunities in the pharma industry, technology advancement, regulatory inspections, cross contaminations, regulatory expectations in the global markets, Industry 4.0 and quality automation, and strengthening the industry-academia synergy.
