Mrs KZN finalist spreads hope
Proceeds will be donated to Rolemodels Foundation NPO, which offers housing and shelter, food and medicine, as well as life coaching and education.
Pretorius is a well-known South Coast resident and is on a mission to spread hope, peace and humanity as a pageant finalist. The winner will be announced on June 16.
Her journey to the crown is not just a personal achievement, it's also about putting the South Coast on the map for KZN tourism. She aims to be an ambassador for the region, showcasing its beauty and potential.
Pretorius said she entered this pageant as it will help her demonstrate grace, poise and purpose to a younger generation.
'The event was a huge success with lots of music and good food. I am making way for amazing networking opportunities for myself and my community. The pageant stands for exactly who I am – empowerment, inspiration and leadership,' she said.
Pretorius said by 'gunning for the crown', it will help her to connect and lead with empathy and to be an advocate for humanity.

Afrika Tikkun hosts its first pageant
Afrika Tikkun joyfully hosted its inaugural Disability Empowerment Pageant, Beauty in Ability, on July 11 at The Cirk in Cresta. This historic event honoured the skill, strength, and self-expression of 20 youngsters with disabilities, providing a compelling counter-narrative to stigma and silence. The 20 candidates, comprising 10 boys and 10 girls, shared the stage, displaying their bravery and beauty in front of an audience that screamed for them and the judges. Lona Roy of the organisation explained that at first, she didn't understand the pageant idea when one of her staff members approached her. 'I couldn't understand until she sent me a concept note of why it was so important. These young people never get the chance to shine; they never get to be in the limelight. People look at them and they say, oh shame, but no one looks at them in the sense of how empowered and how talented they are.' Roy said that this wasn't about beauty as in the outer appearance, but about ability, and to show people how important it is to acknowledge everyone in society. She added that the event was more than a success. 'This was our first, and we didn't know what would come out of today. But I was blown away. The confidence, the smiles on their face when they walked out, I was so proud. 'I could have cried through the whole event, but it was one of those days that we're just so proud of our young people and our candidates with disabilities,' said Roy. Syre Magnolian releases Maana raja
SEBOKENG.- Zone 7, Sebokeng-based, Bongani Lebohang Koena, professionally known as 'Syre Magnolian', is a musical genius making music with his melodic voice. To show his musical 'ear', Syre got his inspiration from the world-renowned A-listers in the likes of Chris Brown, Drake, XXXTentacion, Travis Scott, and Tory Lanez. He started making music back in 2008, while in Grade Two. 'At school, I was never like other children. Teachers liked me for my voice compared to my academics, and later they influenced me to join the school choir after witnessing the talent I have.' His musical journey was then noticed later on different DSP's mainly on Facebook, with multiple visuals of a song called Why O Yetsa Jwalo. 67hrs in a cage! Join Dominique in making a difference this Mandela Day
Mandela Day is around the corner, and Belly2Brain's founder, Dominique Tibbles, is preparing to be locked in a cage once again for 67 hours. Dominique will be doing this from July 15 to 18 to raise funds and feed 17 000 people. 'For many of us, a peanut butter and jam sandwich is a snack, but for others, it may be their only meal for the day,' she said last year. The initiative is called Change2Uncage, and she will be locked up at Cradlestone Mall's Entrance 5, and over the three days, there will be activities for residents, including: • Self-defence classes on July 16 • Paint night on July 17 • Mandela Day sandwich making on July 18 She is calling on the community to support this initiative, and they need as many hands as possible to help them prepare the sandwiches on the last day from 08:00.
