Borussia Dortmund weigh up move for Arsenal winger

Borussia Dortmund are monitoring the situation of Leandro Trossard at Arsenal. Trossard is a possible exit from Arsenal this summer as the Gunners target the signing of a new left-winger. The Belgium international has jsut 12 months to run on his contract at the Emirates and Arsenal are considering a sale while his value remains intact. Sky Germany are reporting that Trossard has 'two concrete offers from Premier League clubs', though Borussia Dortmund are preparing to rival that interest. The German side sold Jamie Gittens to Chelsea earlier in the transfer window and are assessing reinforcements on the flanks. A cut-price deal for Trossard, who is valued at around £20m, is now under consideration. The 30-year-old has been a useful contributor for Arsenal since arriving from Brighton in January 2023. Despite not always being a regular starter during his time with the club, Trossard scored eight goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League last season. He is keen to secure regular football to ensure his place in the Belgium squad for next summer's World Cup. Read – See more – Follow The Football Faithful on Social Media: | | | |

Tottenham: Thomas Frank provides 'brutal' James Maddison injury update as midfielder spotted on crutches

Thomas Frank has described James Maddison's injury as 'brutal' after the midfielder was taken off on a stretcher on Sunday. Maddison was withdrawn, just minutes after coming on, with his head in his hands after collapsing to the pitch during a 1-1 draw with Newcastle in South Korea. He looked distraught and the injury is a major concern for Spurs ahead of the new season, having earlier seen captain Heung-min Son bid farewell to the club before leaving. Maddison missed the end of last season with a knee injury and now looks set for another spell on the sidelines after damaging the same knee. Dejan Kulusevski will miss the start of the season and Spurs missed out on Morgan Gibbs-White, meaning Thomas Frank was already short of creative players. Frank said: 'We're pretty sure it was the same knee he injured before.' He added: "I think sometimes in life and football things can be both beautiful and brutal. That's what we got today. 'It looks like with Madders a bad injury and then on the other side unbelievable scenes for Son from his team-mates and the respect from the Newcastle players.' The full extent of the injury will remain unclear until the club conducts scans, though Maddison was spotted 'looking devastated' on crutches after the game. Frank added to SPURSPLAY: 'We don't know the full assessment of it yet, so we need to see that.' Spurs face Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup next Wednesday before kicking off the new Premier League season at home to Burnley next Saturday.
