Polavaram-Banakacherla project within legal limits, benefits both states: CM Naidu
Responding to criticism of the project, CM Naidu, while addressing the media in Kuppam, Chittoor district, clarified that the project is being executed within legal and technical frameworks. He emphasized that both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh can mutually benefit from the optimal use of Godavari river waters.
'I have never opposed, nor will I oppose, any irrigation project taken up by Telangana on the Godavari river,' Naidu said, recalling his role in initiating the Devadula Project for Telangana during the united Andhra Pradesh era. He also pointed to his contributions in bringing the Pushkara and Tadipudi lift irrigation projects to Andhra.
Criticising the unfulfilled Yellampalli project initiated during the YSR regime, Naidu highlighted how over 2,000 TMC of Godavari water has been flowing into the sea annually for the past several years. 'Even utilising 200 TMC would be a game-changer for both states,' he asserted.
The CM stressed that water-sharing cooperation could uplift the entire Telugu community and urged all stakeholders to act responsibly.

Naidu came down heavily on those criticizing the government's P4 initiative, asserting that people who haven't spent 'even a single rupee for the poor' are now launching unwarranted attacks against a progressive welfare programme.
Naidu defended the government's poverty alleviation efforts and called for a united societal approach to development. 'While our government is advancing with meaningful actions to reduce poverty, some individuals are busy making baseless allegations. Those who looted public resources without spending a single paisa on the poor are now questioning our intentions,' Naidu said.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu releases P-4 logo, directs formation of committees for policy implementation
Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the formation of two committees, advisory and executive, for the effective implementation of P-4 policy which has been launched to fight poverty. Naidu chaired the first general body meeting of the P-4 Foundation on Friday after its formation. It was also decided to form P-4 chapters at the district and constituency levels. Addressing public representatives and district and mandal level officials who participated in the meeting through video conference, Naidu said the P-4 scheme aims to reduce disparities between the rich and the poor in society. "The state govt has set an ambitious target of achieving zero poverty, and has set a target of connecting 15 lakh poor families with one lakh guides. There needs to be more clarity on the role of guides, as it is not just about giving money to the poor but also empowering them," he explained. Clarifying that poor families who receive support from their guides will not be denied any welfare programs, Naidu said P-4 program is independent of the welfare schemes currently being implemented. "Spending money is not enough to eradicate poverty. If money were the only criterion, much was spent in the last 75 years," he said. The CM also launched a logo for P-4 scheme, which represents the goals of the state govt.

10-foot bronze statue of Alluri unveiled
: State tourism minister Kandula Durgesh called upon everyone to strive for the realisation of noted freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju's ideals. On the occasion of the 128th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter, a 10-foot bronze statue of the heroic tribal leader was unveiled at the entrance of Narsipatnam. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from Alluri's fighting spirit and contribute to the development of society. He pledged to transform the region into a tourist hub and promised the creation of a tourism circuit connecting spiritual and scenic locations across Anakapalli district. He assured that the ghats and surrounding areas where Alluri sacrificed his life would also be developed. Durgesh also remarked that Alluri is a symbol of Telugu valor and that the state is officially commemorating his birth anniversary across all regions. Later, the Speaker, ministers, and MPs elaborated on Alluri's greatness and the steps required to fulfill his vision.
