Lewis Capaldi releases new music amid speculation of Glastonbury set
He has released a new song titled Survive and alongside a video montage, with the song playing, he wrote on Instagram: 'It's been a while…'.
Last month, he performed on stage for the first time in two years at a charity gig in Edinburgh to raise funds for suicide prevention.
Capaldi, from Bathgate, West Lothian, has Tourette's Syndrome and released his first album in 2019, with a second album following in 2023.
On New Year's Eve in 2023, Capaldi said in a lengthy Instagram post that he would 'continue taking some time to carry on looking after myself' following the announcement he would take a break from touring after struggling with his voice during his Glastonbury Festival set earlier in the year.
Capaldi explored how the pressures of fame have affected him mentally and physically in the Netflix documentary Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now which was released in April 2023.
His critically-acclaimed 2019 debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent emerged as the biggest-selling UK album of both 2019 and 2020.
His hit songs include 2019's Someone You Loved, 2020's Before You Go and 2022's Forget Me.
This year's Glastonbury line-up features a number of acts listed as TBA, with a Friday slot on the Pyramid Stage at 4.55pm speculated as one Capaldi could perform in, but this has not been confirmed.
Also among the music stars rumoured to be performing a secret set at Glastonbury is New Zealand singer Lorde, whose fourth studio album, Virgin, has just been released.

Charli XCX in row with ‘boomers' over Glastonbury autotune
The British singer Charli XCX accused 'boomers' of being boring after she was criticised for using autotune at Glastonbury. The Grammy-winning musician, 32, denied that performing live with the pitch correction software 'makes you a fraud' following social media criticism of her set at Worthy Farm on Saturday night. Writing on her X account, she said: 'Really enjoying these boomer vibe comments on Glastonbury performance. It's super fascinating to me. 'Like the idea that singing with deliberate autotune makes you a fraud or that not having a traditional band suddenly means you must not be a 'real artist' is like, the most boring take ever. Yawn sorry just fell asleep xx.' A number of festival-goers, or those who watched the gig live on the BBC, accused Charli XCX of 'barely singing'. However, the artist has also spoken about how the software has made her 'lazy' and less able to sing in tune when live. Speaking on the Tape Notes Podcast with producers AG Cook and George Daniel last year, she said: '[In my] early work, I can – I could sing in tune, but now I think I've gotten so lazy because I sing with autotune all the time. 'Like I never [go], 'I'm not singing with autotune'. Unless I'm doing karaoke, which I actively don't do, for this reason. I'm pretty out [of pitch] because my ear is so used to leaning in.' However, others watching her set on Saturday night said they 'loved' the use of her autotune. 'She knows her way around it, knows how to sing with it and manipulate it to create this fantastic sound that is entirely unique to her. It's the opposite of lazy, she's incredibly intentional,' one fan said on social media.
