'I'm pretty unhappy': Indian-origin man says Canada is great but he wants to come back because...

Indian-origin man's Reddit post on moving back to India from Canada goes viral.
A Reddit post of a 25-year-old Indian-origin Canadian citizen has gone viral as he detailed why he wants to come back to India, although he spent only 11 years in India and the majority in Canada.
He said he visited India in 2021 after a decade, but since 2021, he has visited India around 10 times, and every time he felt good revisiting his childhood memories.
"India has its flaws, I get it, but so do these western countries. I personally do not see a happy future for Indians in general in the West. I want to start a small business in India until I get my inheritance and then eventually live off that," the techie wrote, seeking opinions.
And there started the virality as most of the Redditos in the comment section termed the realization of the man as "enlightenment" that Indians are missing and whining about their country.
Some users, however, have a different take on moving back to India and advised that if Canada feels stagnant, he should take advantage of Canadian citizenship and should try to explore Europe, East Asia and not India.
The Reddit post of a 25-year-old Indian-origin Canadian techie went viral.
The Indian-origin techie also laid out his future plan in the viral post adding that he wants to buy a property in India and does not want to get married.

As the post went viral, the techie added that Canada is a great country and, in fact, one of the best on the planet and is also his home since he spent his teens there. "That being said, India.. feels like my cultural home and feels like "MY" country if that makes sense. The sense of belonging once one returns to India after being away for a while is uncanny. The West is great, but so is India and frankly the west cannot offer what India offers to *INDIANS*," the post added.
The major takeaway from the advice that he received was there is no fix-all solution for this situation as there are many who regret moving back to Canada and many who do not.

3 cos frontrunners for Deonar waste treatment project

Mumbai: Three companies emerged as frontrunners when bids were opened on Tuesday for BMC's Rs 2,368-crore bioremediation tender to scientifically treat 185 lakh tonnes of waste at the Deonar dumping ground —one of the oldest and most toxic landfills in the country. Only one of them, Re Sustainability Ltd, has experience in handling Deonar's solid waste; the other two are infrastructure companies. One of the three—Navayuga Engineering Ltd—had tied up with Adani Enterprises for a 47.8km bypass project in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, which was launched in 2021. Re Sustainability is the parent company of Chennai MSW Pvt Ltd, which is currently working on seting up a waste-to-energy plant at Deonar to process 600 tonnes of solid waste daily that is expected to be commissioned by this Oct. The other company—HG Infra Engineering Ltd—has handled highways, bridges, Metro, railways and renewable energy projects, according to its official website. Officials said a scrutiny of the bids packet was still underway as of late Tuesday evening. "The financial packet will be opened on July 11, after which the lowest bidder will be decided," said a civic official. The urgency ties into the state cabinet's Oct 2023 approval to hand over a portion of the Deonar land to Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd—a joint venture between Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt Ltd (an Adani Group special purpose vehicle) and the state govt. BMC had extended the deadline for submission of bids three times after floating the tender this May—from June 3 to June 23, then to July 1, and finally to July 4. The civic body had held a pre-bid meeting with interested bidders. Officials said several interested parties sought more time to study the entire process, apart from raising questions about certain environmental permissions, owing to which the extensions were granted. The queries raised by the prospective bidders were mainly related to logistical challenges. Many of them shared their concern over how such a large pile of legacy waste could be cleared within three years.

He pointed to hurdles including high financing costs, unclear residual value of EVs, and inadequate charging infrastructure as key challenges slowing the transition. India's EV ecosystem, according to Singh, is still developing, and the cost burden of vehicle ownership continues to be a barrier. "Someone has to buy the asset and deploy it on the platform.
