"He keeps raising questions on the armed forces", BJP's Rajyavardhan Rathore slams Rahul Gandhi

India Gazette23-05-2025
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 23 (ANI): Rajyavardhan Rathore, Cabinet Minister at the Industry and Commerce and Sports department in Rajasthan, has criticised Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his comments on the armed forces.
Rathore said, 'Sadly, he keeps raising questions on the armed forces... Just to come to power, he is harming the country by speaking the language of the enemies...'.
This statement comes after Rahul Gandhi's renewed criticism earlier this week of External Affairs Minister Jaishankar. The Congress leader questioned the minister's silence on the number of Indian Air Force aircraft lost during Operation Sindoor, insisting that the nation 'deserves the truth.'
Adding to his statement, the Rajasthan Sports Minister said that some members of the ruling party have even gone abroad and spoken about the country in a manner that is detrimental to its interests. He expressed concern that the government does not seem to understand the implications of its actions and words, which are being showcased by Pakistan.
Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of hypocrisy for questioning Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. Dubey referenced a 1991 Indo-Pak military transparency pact signed during a Congress-backed government to highlight what he called Congress's longstanding alignment with a 'Pakistani vote bank.'
Praveen Khandelwal of the BJP has also criticised Rahul Gandhi on May 22, stating,' It is a difficult time for the country, yet the Congress leaders are constantly attacking and tweeting about armed forces'.
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 as a retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. It targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists. In response, Pakistan shelled border areas and carried out drone attacks, prompting India to conduct airstrikes on 11 Pakistani airbases. Both countries agreed to cease hostilities on May 10. (ANI)

Pahalgam attack: Congress asks whom J&K L-G Manoj Sinha is trying to ‘protect'

Reacting to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha's admission that there was a security lapse at Pahalgam and he took full responsibility for the April 22 terror attack that left 26 tourists dead, the Congress on Monday (July 14, 2025) asked whom Mr. Sinha was trying to 'protect'. 'The much-delayed acceptance of responsibility by L-G Manoj Sinha is an insult to all those innocent tourists who lost their lives in Pahalgam terror attack. Who is the L-G protecting? Where is the accountability?' Congress' media and publicity head Pawan Khera asked in a post on X. His party colleague and Lok Sabha member from Tamil Nadu, Manickam Tagore, questioned the timing of Mr. Sinha's statement and bluntly apportioned the blame on the Centre. 'Before six days to Parliament session, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha calls the Pahalgam terror attack a 'security lapse' and takes 'full responsibility'. But in J&K, the real control lies with the Union Home Ministry under Amit Shah. Why is he silent after 90 terror-related deaths this year?' Mr. Tagore asked. The Lok Sabha member said the Narendra Modi government promised a 'new era of peace' in Kashmir after abrogating Article 370 but 90 people died due to terrorist attacks this year alone. 'The L-G admits the Pahalgam attack was Pakistan-backed, targeted tourists, and happened in a high-security zone. Then how did terrorists breach security so easily? Who was in charge of intel and preparedness? Answer: Amit Shah's Home Ministry. If the Union Govt. claims credit for all development in J&K…It must also own the failures of security. You can't take the photo-ops and dodge the bloodshed. 90 dead in a year is not normal,' Mr. Tagore said on X. 'Let's be clear: This is not just a local failure. It's a central failure — by the Modi govt. and the Home Ministry. The people of Jammu & Kashmir — and India — deserve answers, not slogans,' he added.

Rahul has insulted Bihar people: JD(U)

Patna: JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha on Monday criticised leader for calling the "crime capital" of the country, saying the remark was a direct insult to the 14 crore people of the state. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "Rahul has no political maturity, nor any understanding of the ground reality. It is his old habit to make illogical statements without facts to support them. For this reason, neither the people of Bihar, nor of the country, take him seriously," Kushwaha said. Responding further, Kushwaha asked, "Why does Rahul remain silent on the rising crime in Congress-ruled Karnataka and Telangana?" He accused the Congress of contributing to the 'jungle raj' era when it partnered with the RJD in the pre-2005 govt. "Back then, rule of law was absent and FIRs were not even registered against criminals who had political protection," he said. Defending the NDA regime, Kushwaha said, "Today, criminals are brought to justice swiftly. Bihar is known as a model of good governance and social justice, something the opposition cannot accept."

The Commerce Ministry's Chief Negotiator and Special Secretary, Rajesh Aggarwal, will join the discussions starting Wednesday, according to ANI. The advance team's presence ahead of the chief negotiator suggests an organised strategy, with initial discussions focusing on setting the agenda and procedural matters, before senior officials engage in comprehensive negotiations. Recently, Bloomberg cited sources stating that the United States is developing a trade agreement with India, proposing to implement a tariff rate below 20%. This represents a reduction from the 26% tariff rate that Trump announced on April 2. If a less than 20% tariff rate is agreed on, India will get a competitive edge against other peer group countries in the export market to the US.
