The fourth annual Basadi in Music Awards honoured the queens who are working hard in the music industry.
This year, organisers held the awards ceremony over two nights at the Joburg Theatre, splitting them into the Vanguard and Music Awards.
Award-winning DJ, Metro FM radio presenter and businesswoman Lerato Kganyago hosted the music awards and enlisted her favourite designer, Gert-Johan Coetzee, to create three couture looks.
Public votes determined the winners of the awards, and fans made sure their favourites didn't go home empty-handed.
"Big Brother Mzansi" season four star, Liyema Pantsi, who launched her music career after her exit from the competition, walked away with two awards: Collaboration of the Year and SAMRO Songwriter of the Year.
'I'm so emotional… I didn't know I was going to win. Thank you so much. God, this wouldn't be possible if it weren't for him.
'A girl from a small town, King Williams Town, coming to Johannesburg to hustle and do this music thing. This was unexpected. This is for my hometown, this is for the girls who are talented and know, do what you can and where you are,' Pantsi said.
Rapper and creative director Nomuzi 'Moozlie' Mabena walked away with the well-deserved award for Best Styled Artist of the Year. The whole auditorium erupted with people screaming her name as the nominees and winner were announced.
Limpopo's Lekompo rising star Kharishma continues to prove that she is here to stay in the music industry. She won Music Video of the Year, and while she did not accept her award, she wrapped up the show with an electrifying performance that had the crowd on their feet.
Vocalist Babalwa M, who performed at the Vanguard awards and at the Music awards she took home a well-deserved award for Amapiano Artist of the Year.
Vocalist Zee Nxumalo accepted her award for Artist of the Year with her whole team. The 'Ngisakuthanda' hitmaker was nervous as she accepted her award and thanked all her supporters for voting for her.

The self-described sugar baby and personality on Showmax's controversial show This Body Works for Me is drawing public attention with the case. The 26-year-old, her mother, and her sister, Ntombifuthi Ndlovu, are being held behind bars following an alleged violent family altercation in Katlehong. This altercation left her uncle, Linda Ndlovu, dead. The trio is expected to make a court appearance tomorrow at Palm Ridge Court as investigations continue. It was allegedly sparked by a noise complaint from Wandi's mother. He was reportedly playing loud music when his sister (Wandi's mom) went to ask him to lower the volume. An argument broke out, and Linda allegedly struck his sister on the head with a golf club. Bleeding and injured, she returned to the main house. That's allegedly when Wandi, her sister Ntombifuthi, and another sister, who is currently in Grade 11 allegedly went to confront their uncle. 'One of them stabbed the uncle during the confrontation,' said a family insider. When paramedics arrived, it was too late to take him to the hospital. The Grade 11 sibling, who is a minor, has since been released from custody. This is especially after a voice recording surfaced online, allegedly of Wandi's aunt (her mother's sister), who was an eyewitness to the entire incident. The late uncle Linda is believed to have been the breadwinner. Wandi relocated and is mostly based in Nigeria and claimed she got married. He was living in the back room and was said to be providing financial support to some members of the family. The house was reportedly newly built by Wandi after her return from Nigeria. She was working as an adult entertainer and had recently BBL surgery and other changes. While South Africans await official police comment, many have taken to social media. They express anger, disbelief, and sorrow over the killing.

Mbambo will join HLE and Xola Toto as a supporting act for CeCe Winans during all four performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg. After honouring Gospel icon Dr Rebecca Malope at the Basadi Awards in Music over the weekend, singer Ntokozo Mbambo was named as one of the supporting acts for CeCe Winans' tour of Mzansi. Malope was bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Basadi in Music Awards, where Mbambo performed some of Malope's classic songs just before accepting the award.
