Ntokozo Mbambo named as CeCe Winans' supporting act after honouring Rebecca Malope
After honouring Gospel icon Dr Rebecca Malope at the Basadi Awards in Music over the weekend, singer Ntokozo Mbambo was named as one of the supporting acts for CeCe Winans' tour of Mzansi.
Malope was bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Basadi in Music Awards, where Mbambo performed some of Malope's classic songs just before accepting the award.

Mbabo did renditions of Malope classics like Ngegazi Lemvana and Uthando Lwam on Saturday night at the Joburg Theatre.

CeCe Winans in SA
Bridge Nation, in partnership with Collective Records, on Monday announced that 15-time Grammy Award-winning gospel legend Winans is bringing her More Than This World Tour to South Africa this month.
Mbambo and HLE, along with rising star Xola Toto, were named as Winans' supporting acts for the four-night performance, which will see the US Gospel royalty belting it out in Johannesburg and Cape Town for two nights in each city.
The shows will be held at Rhema Bible Church (Johannesburg, 19 & 20 August), and Grand Arena at GrandWest (Cape Town, 22 & 23 August).
Media personality Rorisang Thandekiso will host each of the nights.
'This tour is more than a concert—it's a divine invitation to worship, reminding us of the unshakable hope and love that unite us all,' said Winans.
'These nights are going to be unforgettable—bring your family, your friends, and your praise. I can't wait to worship with you and lift up the name of Jesus together.'
Cece comes from the Winans family, which holds a prominent legacy in gospel music, with a multi-generational impact that extends from the pioneering group 'The Winans' to individual careers and collaborations within the family.
The family's blend of soulful vocals and R&B influences, combined with their strong faith, resonated with both gospel and mainstream audiences.
In her own right, Winans is the best-selling and most awarded female gospel artist of all time, with over 40 Dove Awards, 15 Grammy Awards, and countless other accolades to her name. Goodness of God and Holy Forever are some of her biggest songs.

At the fourth Basadi In Music Awards, the legendary musician received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented to Malope by Hloni Modise-Matau and her longtime friend and legendary musician Linah Ngcobo, who was honoured the previous year. Award-winning musician Ntokozo Mbambo brought Malope to her feet as she sang a medley of the gospel icons' greatest hits. Moments from her career played as her industry friends and colleagues paid tribute to her journey. This year, organisers held the awards ceremony over two nights at the Joburg Theatre, splitting them into the Vanguard and Music Awards. Award-winning DJ, Metro FM radio presenter and businesswoman Lerato Kganyago hosted the music awards and enlisted her favourite designer, Gert-Johan Coetzee, to create three couture looks. Public votes determined the winners of the awards, and fans made sure their favourites didn't go home empty-handed. "Big Brother Mzansi" season four star, Liyema Pantsi, who launched her music career after her exit from the competition, walked away with two awards: Collaboration of the Year and SAMRO Songwriter of the Year. 'I'm so emotional… I didn't know I was going to win. Thank you so much. God, this wouldn't be possible if it weren't for him. 'A girl from a small town, King Williams Town, coming to Johannesburg to hustle and do this music thing. This was unexpected. This is for my hometown, this is for the girls who are talented and know, do what you can and where you are,' Pantsi said. Rapper and creative director Nomuzi 'Moozlie' Mabena walked away with the well-deserved award for Best Styled Artist of the Year. The whole auditorium erupted with people screaming her name as the nominees and winner were announced. Limpopo's Lekompo rising star Kharishma continues to prove that she is here to stay in the music industry. She won Music Video of the Year, and while she did not accept her award, she wrapped up the show with an electrifying performance that had the crowd on their feet. Vocalist Babalwa M, who performed at the Vanguard awards and at the Music awards she took home a well-deserved award for Amapiano Artist of the Year. Vocalist Zee Nxumalo accepted her award for Artist of the Year with her whole team.
